I only had cake on my visit and I'm also not much of a cake person, just FYI. I came on a Wednesday and Thursday evening. Both times it was crowded to sit and eat there with a wait. I was able to order cake to go quickly. Each slice was around $8-9. Also, the first night I came, they only had a few flavors left so they suggest the earlier the better for more selection. The second night was better but still sold out of some. MANGO KEY LIME PIE: My favorite of what I tried. I do like key lime pie though. Had a really good tart but sweet flavor and they put white chocolate curls on top. SPRINKLES CAKE: Typical birthday cake flavor. It tasted better than one coming out of a box from the grocery store. But on par with other places that sell cakes. REESE'S CAKE: The cake itself is just a chocolate cake and a little dry. The put some peanut butter and chocolate flavors in between the layers and on the outside. I liked it, but wasn't wowed by it. I would probably come back because I wanted to try some more flavors. But I also wouldn't be upset if I didn't make it. read more

Came in on a Saturday around 1:00pm. The place was busy, but surprisingly we were seated right away. I had read that the wait times for Rosine's were long, so I was pleasantly surprised. Breakfast is served until 3:00pm on the weekends so I decided to go for a traditional breakfast plate. I loved the portions because usually every restaurant I visit for breakfast always serves 2 eggs. Rosine's had breakfast plates with only 1 egg, which was perfect. Visited on our way back from 17 mile drive for dinner. I must say this place is really really good. Walk in would mean a wait of atleast 10-15 mins so call ahead and make a reservation. The service was fantastic, for some reason we had 3 different servers assigned which was confusing but they managed well in the end. We ordered a house lasagna, a margarita flat bread which our waiter described incorrectly but it came out good and a pesto pasta. House special lasagna was the highlight of the night. Pesto pasta was pretty yumm too. Choice of alcohol here was good too. Since it is right in the city, parking can be a pain. Our server was this super enthusiastic and cheerful lady who was capable of going from one end of restaurant to the other in seconds, she was amazing! read more

Stopped here randomly for dinner after long drive from Los Angeles. Man it was good! First of all, the staff was super kind, attentive, and accommodating. Very personable and fun to talk to as well. The place was busy and the food looked good, so we figured we'd give it a shot. So I tried the minestrone soup because it was featured on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives (love you Guy Fieri)! I didn't know this until it was specified in the menu. I'm not even a fan of minestrone but I was curious. It was delicious!! They used beef stock and the vegetables tasted fresh. It was more like a hearty and comforting stew than a minestrone soup. Would recommend! Next was the best fettuccine alfredo I've had in a long time! The consistency of the sauce was perfect, and the quality of the cream and ingredients were great. It also comes with garlic toast! Definitely carb heaven. Almost wish I never had it because now I would have to drive all the way from LA lol, and I'm already having cravings! I'm sure the fettuccine alfredo and I will meet again one day. Lastly, I love the uniqueness of their Caesar salad. It was packed with flavor even though the dressing was super light and not too intense, which gave it a crisp and refreshing taste. The croutons were delicious! Very simple salad with fresh ingredients that came together nicely. They also have a really good cheesy broccoli side dish. We definitely went to town and ultimately ended up sharing our meals because everything looked good. The variety was a fun experience! Anyway, check this place out :) read more

The food was quite delicious and the portions were large (we had pasta w meat sauce and guac bacon burger). The service was rather slow; the waiters made no mistakes but were quite slow to bring water and to take the check. The reason I give 3 instead of 4 stars is because of the pungent smell throughout the entire restaurant. It smelled like what people smell like when they don't shower for months. I'm not sure why the restaurant smelled like that but we carried the smell home. read more

I live in another state but wanted to have cake delivered to my sister who lives nearby and whoever helped me that day was absolutely amazing. I not only talked to them once but THREE times (me, because I'm indecisive) and they were so helpful and wanted to make sure I got the best experience and the cakes were exactly what I wanted. Got delivered in less than an hour and my sister and her family said the cream cakes were AMAZING. they all suggested the banana nut cream cake was the best! I drove to Monterey to take my Dad to Gianni's pizza, before realizing they didn't open til 330, and it was only 1pm. I Googled what restaurants in the area had the best Italian, and Rosine's was at the top of the list. Many friends have suggested this restaurant to me for years, talking about how wonderful the cakes and breakfasts were......I always just thought Rosine's was a bakery/ coffee shop type place. I scanned the menu outside, went in and we were seated right away. My dad ordered a calamari steak sandwich, and I ordered the beef tortellini with Alfredo sauce. My dad LOVES going out to eat, and this has became one of our main sources of bonding. My dad also has a left arm amputation from directly below the elbow down. Due to his amputation, it is difficult for him to grab/ cut...etc certain foods to eat, and it becomes a struggle to try and eat something he would otherwise enjoy. Because of this, I have taken to cutting and prepping his food for him (even if it means mine getting a bit cold in the process). Our waitress Casey is the ONLY person that has EVER offered to prep my dad's plate to better suit his needs!!!!! She brought our dishes out, then she quietly asked my dad if he would like her to cut the sandwich into three (it was a pretty good sized sandwich, served open face, with a side of tartar sauce), and apply the tartar sauce for him; he said he would like that, and she went to the kitchen and brought the plate back no less than a minute later, sandwich sauced, closed, and cut into three easy to hold pieces. This discreet and simple gesture probably meant more to me than it did to my dad. He would never ask anyone to go out of their way, and that's why I've always cut his food for him....I'm honestly tearing up a bit writing this because I've seen him struggle more than a time or two with different foods. My dad loved the calamari steak, as he hadn't had calamari in several years. I am a sucker for a good cream sauce, and the sauce on my tortellini was not your average run of the mill Alfredo! There was a bit of spice to the sauce and everything fell together perfectly without being overpowering or too much. The minestrone soup was fantastic as well! Of course we weren't going to leave without dessert! My dad chose a double chocolate cake, and I chose a Rocky Road cake. The pieces were quite generous, and we took them home to enjoy....very tasty! *the only bother which is so minor: the tree we were seated by was quite close to the table so that one of the palms/ branches was almost brushing our heads. I recommend Rosine's 100%, and we will definitely be back in the future!!! Our tab was $52, which included salad, a large sandwich and huge piece of cake for Dad, a bowl of soup, perfectly portioned tortellini and huge piece of cake for me, and two cranberry juices. The price was just right for such high quality food from a place that not only puts so much care into the food they serve, but also has such kind and caring staff that are attentive to each individual customer's needs. read more

Each of our plates was delicious and big! We each took half back to our how and ate it for breakfast the next morning. My 1 year old decided to grab the bag of ritz crackers on the floor and all the pieces of food he was not able to get in his mouth. I also had my 3 year old on my other side. Plus you got me in the middle super hungry. I had a man approach me and said never in life had he seen such a mess. At first I thought he was being funny, and then realized he wasn't. I said to him, I haven't even left the restaurant, meaning how do you know I was wasn't going to pick up the big pieces. Later I realized it was the manager. I found it very rude and disrespectful the way he told me. As I cleaned it up, a cleaner came by and wanted to pick it himself. Too sad. By the way the food is not that great but the mushroom soup was good. The homemade spaghetti was not that great nor the garlic bread. plus who runs out of spaghetti noodles? REPLY TO COMMENT 1. the hostess or server seated us in that location ( main walkway). You guys seated 3 toddlers in the middle of restaurant! During lunch time. 2. Yes they were semi-loud sometimes but not really, by the are just kids. They shouted a few times and we stopped them each time. They are only 3 years old. My son has a speech delay so he can make noises or be loud that doesn't sound like words to others. 3. That mess was there before we even got our appetizers. You had plenty of time to come ask me to clean it up or have your clean up crew respond to the mess. 4. The one throwing the food was a 14 month old toddler who threw it maybe 3 times. 5. There was a more respectful way to handle this situation and that was why I wrote this review. 6. If you want to be a family business, learn how to treat your customers with families better. read more

The cake still rocks (the lemon cake with blueberry topping and white frosting is light and delicious!), and service is generally good. ________________________________________________________ Update: Late January or early February 2018: I know it's a meat & potatoes kind of place, but it would be nice if they had more vegetarian options. Delicious! We ate here for breakfast twice while we were here. You get three eggs with the eggs Benedict. One day they ran out of pancake batter so that was a bit annoying. Their omelettes are really good too! Staff is friendly, especially the lady with blonde hair and glasses. We are visiting from Sacramento and we ordered food online to have it delivered to our hotel room. The food was just okay because 4 of the 5 entrees we ordered were ruined. Delivery is done through Grub Hub and who ever delivered ours just set it at the door with NO knock. We only knew it was there because one of the hotel staff brought us towels. The food was luke warm and everything was soggy from the seafood dish dripping all over the other dishes in the bag. I am giving 2 stars because we were unable to get the full experience of the food due to whomever delivered from Grub Hub ruined our order. I do not recomend having Grub Hub deliver at all!! Order with "pick up" option instead! Or dine in because I am sure the food is incredible! read more

Didn't feel like cooking dinner because I know Rosines is favorite restaurant of my elderly in laws. I cook for them every night. Anyway the hot turkey open sandwich had ample turkey and mashed potatoes. Happy father in law. The gravy flavorful. Ordered the shrimp louie salad . Crisp chilled lettuce with a good amount of bay shrimp. Dressing made my mother in law happy. My husband had the calamari steak dinner and was really happy with the amount of calamari he received on rice with zucchini and carrots cooked well. I had the pesto pasta, no meat, and it was extremely well done. Creamy with a lot of flavor. No pictures. Little to hungry Ordered to be delivered. Came at time I asked and hot. read more

This restaurant came highly recommended by our hotel for dinner as a popular place to eat. However, it was a disappointment. We felt rushed from the time we were seated. Our entrees came before we were even finished with our salads! When we asked the waiter if we could have garlic bread with our salads, he said the bread isn't usually served until the main course. But, he did bring some at our request. And, of course the check came as soon as we were almost done with our meal. We had the chicken parmesan and chicken piccata dishes. The noodles in the parm dish were al dente and tasteless. The chicken in the piccata dish was overdone and the noodles could have used more of the butter caper sauce. Service was less than stellar, maybe covid related maybe not, but the wait for everything was long. Artichoke dip and chips came out lukewarm at best, and a tad bit watery. Edible but very forgettable. Caesar salad was okay but like the artichoke dip, the dressing was on the watery side and not that good overall. For an Italian joint, this was super disappointing Lasagna was a really big portion, very flavorful, but borderline too sweet which was odd. My wife and I came here because of all the rave reviews but were disappointed overall. The food is very well priced, but I suppose you get what you pay for. Maybe it was an off night, maybe it's covid, but this place is on par with Olive Garden. We had an excellent breakfast at Rosine's today. My daughter had the kid's cheese omelette which was loaded with cheddar. My son enjoyed his French toast and bacon. I really enjoyed the Italian omelette. The red sauce was very flavorful with just a touch of sweetness. That was incorporated throughout the omelette with an additional ladle-full on top with shredded Parmesan. Home fries and delicious Italian sausage on the side. A definite winner. I can only speak for the desserts but this is a must have. I was craving something sweet and stopped by Rosine's. A really nice gentleman went over everything they had and gave suggestions. I ended up going with the chocolate cake. Oh my god. So good. Tastes homemade. The frosting is divine. Perfect frosting to cake ratio. There were also different chocolate pies and a plethora of cakes that I'm tempted to go back and try tomorrow. A slice is avg price ($8ish) but HUGE. Stopped in for a late dinner and we tried the chicken parm and lasagna. We started with the minestrone which was very tasty and had brisket in it which is something I haven't had in my minestrone before. My wife said the Alfredo with the chicken parm was ok but the chicken was good. The lasagna was flavorful & a large portion. We also ordered dessert to go - a slice of blueberry cake and snickers pie. Both were enormous and could have been split easily by 4 people! We came on a Sunday for brunch and the food was just as amazing as the service. We ordered a crab cake benedict and salmon florentine. I absolutely love the crabcake because it came with the real crab and their hollandaise sauce was too good to be true.
