The tacos were delicious just the right amount of juice, spices and cheese. The burrito had a special type of bean, not your typical pinto or black bean. I think it may have been the peruvian beans? Service was quick, we ate in the space and it had a cute ambiance. There are also small mexican pastry items. They had a churro that had a little bit of extra spice.

I apologize I tore it up with a quickness before I thought of photographing it...come in and try it. It's juicy so eat it first so it will still be crispy. Then I ordered the combo plate with carnitas...oh my, my tummy really enjoyed the whole plate. The carnitas were a little try...I needed some ajus...but once I made my burritos with the homemade flour tortilla, beans, rice, guacamole, jalapeños and salsa...I didn't even notice the dryness. The plate was a (huge plate) of food!!! Very enjoyable!!!! It's ALL a must try!!!! You will not be disappointed!!! I chased all my food with a Pepsi... The taqueria is adorable. And the staff made me feel right at home missing my Mama and Daddy, wonderful Mexican music in the back ground and the smell of food being prepared for us customers. Come on in and give Valencias some business your tummy will be so happy you did!!! So you here!!! As I walk out I may try their Pan Dulce. One for each (cheek) LOL They're bringing out fresh Pan Dulce...today. I have to get some!!!

Each taco had a generous amount of meat, was well-prepared, and tasted fresh. The real game changer, though, was adding the jalapeño cream sauce along with a few salsas from the salsa bar which took the tacos to another level. If I could, I'd give this place 6 stars just for that! Also, I'd recommend the cucumber lime agua fresca drink. It tasted refreshing and the perfect amount of each flavor. Their menu has a great variety of options, and I noticed several people ordering the dinner plates, which looked absolutely massive. I also saw them bring out a sizzling hot skillet that I could hear from a few tables down. You definitely get your money's worth here. The service was friendly, welcoming, and incredibly fast. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, and the salsa bar was fresh, organized, and full of appetizing choices. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu!

I had the shredded chicken burrito, and it was absolutely delicious--fresh, flavorful, and one of the best I've had. My wife ordered the caldo de res and loved it. The restaurant was spotless, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was incredibly fast. Everyone we encountered greeted us with a smile and made us feel genuinely welcome. Great food, great service, and a great atmosphere. We'll definitely be back and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Mexican food!

I have seen Niko's Tacos all over my social media. It instantly caught my attention that I had to come in and see what the hype was about. After spending a very busy day with my client, I came here for a late lunch. I actually almost passed it up. It shares the parking lot with 7/11. There are only about 4 parking spaces out front. When you walk in, there are only 4 tables that can seat up to 4 people each. It is very cozy in here. The only menu I noticed is on the counter at the register. There were so many things to choose from. So today, I am trying their Zip Tacos! For meats, they offer grilled chicken, steak, shrimp, and newly added, al pastor. Inside these zip tacos, there are tomatoes, onion, cilantro, melted cheese, and the taco shell on the outside has sour cream and cotija cheese sprinkled on. Since I decided to sit and dine in, they brought me my order. I got 1 al pastor zip taco and 1 shrimp zip taco. These looked so pretty! I got an order of pretty tacos, lol. The colors inside were vibrant, and the drizzle of sour cream topped with cotija cheese was a nice touch. They offered me mild or spicy sauce. Of course I went with spicy. The shrimp zip taco was different, but very delicious. The shrimp inside was cooked just perfectly. I craved that next bite. The al pastor was ok. It seemed to be missing a little more flavor on just the meat. I loved how the tacos came dressed to party.... in my mouth. They even had bits of crusty cheese along the edges that added tasty bits to your taco. Next time I have a solo taco party, I'll be sure to come with a bigger appetite!

A huge shoutout to Lupe, Mags, Ricardo (the talented chef), and the entire fam for always making us feel welcome and serving consistently delicious meals. They have odd hours closing at 7pm but worth it to stop by! Since we came in so close to closing, they were out of beans and al pastor but they even offered to make a new batch of beans for us!! Extremely nice of them to offer. We declined seeming it was our fault for the timing. I got their taco salad with steak and my husband got their California burrito with carne asada. I loved my taco salad and the crispy shell was soooo good. We also got their side of chips and guac. They give you a choice between corn and flour tortilla chips! We got a mix of both and they definitely make them in house and fresh to order. They were amazing. The flour was our favorite actually! Guac was great as well. The building is pretty unassuming from the outside since it's in a business park and the inside has a good amount of seating but it is a walk up and order type of restaurant. They do bring the food out to your table, but we were also the only ones there. Majority of the people coming were grabbing it to go. Lastly they have a salsa bar with a good variety of salsa's which I always love! I'll definitely be coming back and trying more of their options.

Complimentary corn tortilla chips, salsa, and refried bean dip with cheese. I loved the REFRIED BEAN DIP! I ordered the Steak a la Chicana. I didn't read or listen carefully enough that the skirt steak with sauteed onions and bell peppers are covered in Spanish sauce. The sauce is actually quite tasty with a little kick. I used it and the salsa to flavor the black beans. However, I really just wanted grilled steak. I should have ordered steak fajitas, a grilled steak burrito or quesadilla, or a carne asada plate. The Steak a la Chicana was a generous portion, which is definitely 2 meals for me. Cilantro rice wasn't anything special. The SWEET CORN TAMALITO is yummy comfort. Choice of beans: refried beans, black beans, or pinto beans. I suspect refried beans is the tastiest option. El Tapatio would be a great gathering place for friends and family. It's located on Sunrise Blvd in Citrus Heights near See's Candies and other restaurants.
