I came to check it out and was satisfied with the layout of the store. Usually all the Ross' that I walk into are a hot mess, clothes strewn over ends of hang rails, shoes and bags on the floor and tossed about, etc... but this one is still fresh. this store is usually half empty, but recently they were filled with all sorts of goodies, junk, whatever you want to call it. lots of holiday items. they have a huge toy sections for kids. decent selection, decent prices. don't buy too much stuff, otherwise, you'll have a hard time carrying it out of the store. these guys are so paranoid of people stealing their carts that they don't allow you to take the carts outside of the store. you have to carry everything out yourself. fine for clothes purchases, horrible for cabinet purchases! I love coming to ross, it's my go to for any necessities. However, this last time I went I felt very uncomfortable by the security staff. I've seen multiple reviews now complaining about the same thing and the fact that nothing has been done to improve this situation is unbelievable. I went with my sisters, when we first came in we were greeted promptly, after 30 mins maybe, I noticed the security hanging around us for a while in the baby section. I told one of my sisters and she said she noticed too but didn't think anything of it. We proceeded to shop after we moved ACROSS the store, we noticed he was right behind us already. At this point we stuck together because frankly we felt harassed. If I didn't have money to pay for the things I was getting, I simply wouldn't have gone. I've been to this location several times. It's definitely one of the best within my neighborhood as far as selection is concerned. I feel it's always organized, well stocked, and relatively clean. The staff could stand to smile a bit more, but my most recent visit, I was there right near closing. Perhaps they were just tired and worn out by that time. This location also has a security guard in the store. Other locations near me don't so I wonder if they have a frequent shoplifting problem here? read more

I totally agree with Corina S. in that this store is pretty empty. Clean, but empty. I was pretty disapointed. After seeing all the tv commercials advertising their selection of dresses, I figured I'd stop by and see if I could find anything fun for my honeymoon. Guess what? There was one rack of dresses under a sign that said something like 'Dress World' and there were like 4 dresses on it. I thought maybe they were cleaning out old stock and making room for new stuff, but after reading other reviews, I'm thinking maybe it's always like this. Appreciate that they are open late which is convenient when you need something last minute. They always seem to have good home decor items. They do have a lot of clothing but you do have to spend time going through the racks one by one and hope that you find a hidden gem. Shoes are hit or miss. read more

All of the bad reviews for the store are believable now that I went. The employee working the fitting room this morning called me the B word just because I forgot to bring out my number. I was SO thrown off that I didn't react but it has completely ruined my day. She was so rude to me then called me what she did. I went in to buy some toys for the dog (he tears them apart every week) but when I was checking out the cashier was so uninterested that she signaled me to grab my own receipt without even looking at me. They do have a great selection of home items. I found some great things at an inexpensive price! The clothing gets too overwhelming for me to try to go through. Nothing is sorted, and it's pretty chaotic. If you have the time to look through every shirt, great for you, but I don't have the patience. I have been shopping at this Ross for several years. In the many years I've shopped here, I have never been followed by the "loss prevention" staff. I often times come to this Ross on my lunch break to buy nothing in particular. I can say that in the several years I've shopped here, I've spent thousands of dollars. I was pleasantly surprised upon entering this particular Ross location. I admit, i'm not a big Ross fan. Usually their stores are crammed with product, somewhat dirty and disheveled. Not my most favorite store. For being a brand spanking new store, it's already pretty messed up. Lots of the clothes I looked at on the racks had lipstick or deodorant stains on them. The selections were not that great either. The kids section is pretty bare, as is the women's clothing and shoe depts. The men's dept is still pretty organized and not as "picked over". The dressing rooms are tiny and it is dark in there too. I have to say I'm a little biased in my opinion since the cashier failed to pack all of my items into my bag, which I didn't realize until I got home. Pretty big and spacious however, there isn't a huge selection of men's clothing here. At Ross you know you can usually find good deals. Today I was on a mission to find cute throw pillows and succeeded here. I went to 3 other stores and never realized how expensive decorative pillows are! At Ross they're about $9-$12 (which is average) and they had a big selection of really cute ones. Anyways, they have lots of home goods and things to make your place nice. Service is usually really slow because for some crazy reason they'll only have 2 people working the register (1 being only for returns) and a line of 15 people. This Ross is a lot cleaner than the other ones that I have been too which is an immediate thumbs up from me. Walking into the store, it seems big and have a huge selection. But, on further investigation, I find that they actually do not have a lot of stock there especially in shoes. They have great deals on clothes and bedding and such which is a good thing. If I wanted to go looking for something new I would definitely come here because of the prices. However, I hate the whole searching for hours in the store to look for things that you want. I feel like shopping should not be that hard which is one of the only reasons I would turn away from this place. Finally a Ross that doesn't look like a CF! The one in the Orange Mall is a hot mess! It's unorganized, messy, no clarity whatsoever! This one is a full on store and has aisles galore! Its clean, bright & organized! They didn't have the biggest selection on Spring skirts but I guess it's just the beginning of Spring and maybe it'll expand? This store is very open & spacious which doesn't make it a CF , easy to get around the aisles! There's 2 reasons why I can't give them a 5 star : 1. There was only 2 cashiers and a line of 5 deep! I saw no one available for backup at all! I guess they weren't expecting a rush but they should be prepared no matter what! 2. They don't let you keep the hangers! They don't even ask if you want to keep them! What slows the line down the most is the cashiers taking the hangers off each piece of clothing! They could already have scanned the barcode but need to still take the hangers off! It could save an easy 10-15minutes off the process. Me and my mom were just staring at the cashier while she took each hanger off. Overall , I like the cleanliness of this store! I'd definitely drive the extra few miles to bypass the CF in Orange and come over to Brea! ^_^ read more

I encountered the same woman in the fitting room that is mentioned in Billie M.'s review below. I have shopped at Ross locations for years and have never had a negative experience until today. I came in during my lunch break, as I work part-time at a local yoga studio, and thought it was time to purchase some new yoga outfits. I had several items in hand as I walked up to the fitting room. The woman looked at me and rudely said, "You can only bring 8 items inside. You don't have a cart?" I said no where she told me I would need to place my remaining items in the empty cart on the side, along with my drink. I had just purchased a smoothie from Nektar across the shopping center and begrudgingly placed my items in the cart. Of course, my smoothie falls through the opening of the cart, and spills on the floor. I'm immediately frustrated as I didn't have time to drink it and had never been stopped about bringing my drinks into the dressing room. Regardless, I walk into the dressing room with my 8 items as I was told and tried them on. I only liked one set of pants and brought out the remaining 7 items. As soon as I walked out with the 7 items, I hung them onto the rack where all the tried on clothes are, and went to grab my other items, where she immediately raised her voice and said, "Excuse me! Where is your number?!" I said what number and she said, "I gave you the number 8!" I disagreed and told her she did not hand me a number when I walked into the fitting room. Instead of understanding or looking in the fitting room herself she just kept yelling at me about bringing her the number. At this point I was so upset and frazzled I said, "You know what? Forget this. I'm not trying anything else on." And walked out with the one pair of pants that I got to try on. I could hear her calling security on me as I walked up to the cashier. CALLED SECURITY ON ME!!! I was mortified as there were other women in the vicinity and as I walked out one customer said, "Oh my god she is so annoying!" (referring to the staff, not me :) Thankfully, I was not stopped and proceeded to the check-out line. I disclosed my complaint to the cashier, Jeff, who was very kind and understanding. He apologized profusely and told me they would take my complaint very seriously and encouraged me to continue shopping at Ross. I was so embarrassed and frustrated about the whole thing that I started to cry when he rang up my item. He gave me 10% off due to the lack of customer service but how sad that an afternoon of shopping, where I came in very excited, I ended up leaving in tears and only one item when I had planned on purchasing several outfits. read more

About one month before I was to run out of Mambo by Liz Clairborne for Men, I did an Internet search for the product and could not find it locally. Amazon.com offered the best price but my purchase fell apart when I was shipped 1.7oz instead of the 3.4oz specified in the purchase. I returned the product and lost weeks of remaining cologne going through this process. The very day I ran out of Mambo I downloaded a list of local stores that sell cologne off an Internet site that lists local stores. Ross never showed up on that list. I made quite a few calls Then a beauty supply two doors down from Ross told me to check Ross. i did and they had ONE in stock. I asked the price and for a 3.4oz bottle, it was $14.99. I about fell out of my chair. I just could not believe my luck. I had just paid over $20 for a 1.7oz bottle. The local mall was selling the 3.4oz for over $40. I rushed over to the store.
