The store is pretty organized but it still has stuff all over the place. I've been to other locations that had a better selection as well as more organization. By the looks of security everywhere, it seems more people steal then shop. That's most likely the reason for the poor selection. Prices are good and you can find a bargain if you have time to spend going through the stuff. Allow your self at least 2 hours for a good shop. read more

I was just walking through this place with friends, idling shopping for something to entertain us, but gosh this place was seriously a mess... Location: It's on Lake ave, which you can walk along to get to other restaurants and stuff. There's free 90min parking behind Ross, which is convenient whether you are going here or somewhere nearby. Environment: Like I said, everything was really messy and disorganized. They do have good deals if you are willing to rummage through the shelves to find stuff. I alternate between this one and the one in Alhambra. I think this one has a better "modern" selection. The one in Alhambra isn't the biggest or best. When this one is stocked, it has a great selection. The only problem is it's hardly ever stocked. Summer is the best time to go. Winter and autumn are alright. The selection has been so bad the last few times I've gone that the racks have actually been empty. By empty, I literally mean bare. One rack had three identical shirts on it and that was all. I've been trying to lose weight, but buying new clothes for every size I reach is expensive. The clothes are so limited I'm leaving the store empty-handed. The clothes are also getting a little outdated. They seem to be made of fabrics no longer manufactured. I understand the store needs to accept anything just to keep stock, but I swear there was a dress from the early 70s in there. Great for Halloween or dressing up. The lines are long, my mom goes to the disabled line. She can't handle standing for that long. The staff is limited and don't really seem to do much outside of their job description. They have yet to be mean or rude to me, but it's just over a little lackluster. read more

I live a few blocks away from Ross and I just love to walk here and check out what they have plus even my LA family comes to Pasadena to buy here lol I always buy something because they have a good selection of clothes,and purses and other things I just went on Saturday and found some cute jeans for $9.00 bucks. Psssst... Here's the secret to checking out of this place without risking the urge to go postal because of the long lines filled with pained looking people and screaming kids. It is all about: The Lake side exit. Many, much like we did on Sunday, will park in the parking lot off Shoppers Lane and enter through the parking lot entrance. Once you enter, you may, just as we did, glimpse the line and say, "Oh eff this!" But no, no dear shoppers, there is a better and brighter light at the end of the shopping tunnel and it is at the other end of the store. Little to no wait, little to no people, and right next to a clearance bin with the most random items including an espresso machine for a whopping $5! It's seriously a win win and far less painful than that other snake of a line dominating the parking lot side of the store. Trust, I would not steer you wrong. As for the store itself, it's a two story collection of random, much like any other Ross. However, amidst this random land of stuff, I found exactly what I was looking for. I was in search of a cool, wicker looking mini table for my Dad to put in the breezeway at his house and I found the perfect one for $29.99. Score. I don't hang in Pasadena all that much, but if I was in the neighborhood, I would definitely hit up this Ross again and if you live in the area, well, you really have no excuse. So, go! Now. This is the perfect xmas shopping place this year. You have no money, they have cheap stuff, and your kids will love the chaos there. Seriously, if you are looking for a royal reception at the door, you shouldn't have stepped in in the first place. This place is for the value shoppers (read, cheap bastards who love things that last). The stuff you find on the clearance section blows your mind away. I once bought a nice shirt for a Great-Depression-era price of $2. The shirt carries such incredible karma it brought me a date when a girl approached me on Caltrain to compliment it. And a pair of shoes that would not fall apart despite my best effort. I walked across Beijing in these shoes a year ago, 8 months after I bought them from Ross. I wear these shoes almost every day my neighbor's dog can recognize them, and the bottom hardly shows any sign of wear. All from this particular Ross. I have been to Ross stores from Minneapolis to San Franciso, but never ran into as many things I actually want to buy. I think I'm going to get married in this place one day. When going into Ross, I don't expect their merchandise to being anywhere comparable to TJmaxx. However, this location has a huge....HUGE selection of dresses compared to anywhere else. You know I love my Ross but this store in particular on Lake Ave. has just gone down hill. The quality of the clothes, purses, and toiletry items have just taken a poop shoot (figure it out now "poop" shit)... But, funny they watch you in here like you gonna actually steal something.. Its a cheap blouse for an even cheaper price.. the label says Chanel but spelled Channel why would I steal a misspelled piece of crap! If a Ross Executive with some power reads this review can you close this store down, put some fresh paint on walls, bring back the top designer stuff you used to carry, and sweep the dressing rooms... My last visit a hair ball the size of a cat blew past my feet I nearly broke my neck jumping out the way, thank goodness it stopped in the next persons dressing room ( I heard them screech)... My experience at this Ross was similar to others. The place is mess. There are creepy people about. If you dig (and I mean really dig), your diligence will reward you. But two things made this Ross stick out in my head: 1. I was heading towards the bathroom with a few items in my hand. I was ready to leave my items outside of the bathroom on a random chair and I heard some guy yell, "CHECK!!!" Then like a crafty mere cat, some lady ran over to me and told me not to take my items in the bathroom. Duh, that's gross. Why would I take my ish in the bathroom? Perhaps it oversized coated and ugg boots gave me the homeless chic look that made me look like I wanted to steal from Ross. Pffft, I can shrug it off. 2. So finally I was able to get into the restroom. It was a mess, which wasn't surprising. But really - Please tell me why there was poo on the floor?! So gross! I swear, some women are savages. I hate Ross. I haven't been in a Ross in over 5 years. I hate it for all the reasons that people hate Ross. But I needed some white socks. I saw white socks through the window of this Ross while I was on my lunch break. I went in. This Ross is more than tolerable. It's not a huge mess and they actually have some attractive items if you dig for them. I got some great baskets upstairs in the home department and yes, some white socks. I also got a pair of Nine West red patent leather, peep toe stilettos because, I was there and they were there and they were in my size. I will definitely go back to this Ross. I can always depend on Ross for nices shoes and a nice price. Although I have to get in the mindset to tackle Ross (it is really hit and miss), I walk out pretty happy with my purchases. This Ross, in comparison to other stores, is bigger and a lot more organized. However, the stock is a little drab for my taste, but I did find some things I liked. Amazing store, it was my first time at this location. I have been to many ross stores in my lifetime and this store is amazingly clean and organized. Clothes are color coordinated and items are also arranged by size. Overall a very impressive show of over organizational skills at its best. Workers seem to be always organizing and putting things back in its place. I have never seen anything like it . Definitely a thing to be admired. It is like no other ross i have ever been to in my life. It is also two stories and has a wide selection for both men and women. Seriously, super organized and neat you have to see it for yourself. I was on a random search last night for new decorative goodies for my new workspace digs over in G'Dale. I figure if I have to spend 45-50 hours a week in that space, it'd better look damn good - all five feet of surface area and it's surrounding "low walls." If there was an award for pimping out a workspace - a nicer way of saying cubicle - I'd win it, hands down. Still, because of the newer configuration of our spankin' new "Workstations by Steelcase" featuring LESS wall space for me to artfully arrange my push-pinned photos, posters, post cards and bib numbers from all my 5Ks, 10Ks, half- and full marathons, I figured it was time to change things up a bit - something that says "sophisticated professional," instead of screaming "college dormroom." Then again, if you saw how ugly our old digs were, you'd understand the propensity for push pins! Anyways, what better place to get some cheap framed art and other crap I really don't need than Ross? There was a time when this was not only my favorite Ross to haunt, but my Ross of choice out of the two located here in 'Dena - even over the one that's closest to my house on the East End of Town. They actually used to clean up this store here on a pretty regular basis, meaning the chances of suddenly finding yourself skating across the floor on a random hanger was slim to nil. That was then. And this - well if this is now, then now ain't nuthin' nice! I walked in last night 'round 8:15 or so, and aside from the killer line at the registers, I immediately noticed that the temperature inside the store was about 20 degrees HOTTER than it was outside. All that shopping can suck the air right out of a place, I guess. As I looked for a way to get past the 20 or so people in the cue for the next available register, I noticed the new electronic cue system they'd put in place, you know, kind of like a bank - but not? The effect was more like putting five grand or so of shiny, spinning rims and low profile on an ugly-assed hoopty with one head light, no grille and one of those space-aged closet rack spoilers glued to the back. I cut left through the scarves, belts, and make a quick right at the purses in an effort to get to the tank tops and such - a wasted use of oxygen, since NONE of the crap was on the hangers, and none of it was in the right place anyways. I meandered over to the dainties - you know, the intimate apparel, made so only because of how much time it spends glued to places on your body that only a well fitted pair of drawers and a over the shoulder boulder holder have any place being for that long. But I digress...there was more of the same mess here, though thankfully most of the stuff was still on hangers. It took 15 minutes but I found ONE boulder holder out of like 500 in my size. Talk about frustrating! Next was shoes - I know, I know, I was looking for some bling for my workspace, but shoes count - they really do! (Nods to Cidne for her shoe raves!) And I found a key-uuute pair of Anne Klein sling back pumps in a weird metallic burnt-orangey-sienna-ish color that I have absolutely NOTHING to wear with, but with shoes that cute, who cares? I'll figure it out! OK - so upstairs to the housewares I go. I cut left again, this time at the top of the escalator on the second floor, walk through the boys stuff, and remember that I need a cheapo blanket or a thin floor covering of some sort for sitting on the lawn at all the outdoor concerts I've been frequenting lately. And how convenient for me that ALL of the browsers before me had left ALL the rugs and such on the floor, presumably so I could just plop my ass down right there and pretend I'm at a show, kinda just to see how it feels or sumthin? Seriously, the rugs were piled at least a foot thick down the entire length of the aisle. There was NO WAY I was wading through all that crap. I mean, there's no telling what might be lurking under there! I finally made my way to the framed art - the very reason I came here in the first place - and of course, the one pretty lil' thing that spoke to me was just out of reach for my 5'2" frame. I could hear the voices of people who sounded like they worked there, but I think they were buried under a stack of sheets and towels or something, as the voices kept getting more and more faint. Finally I found a guy and asked him if he would be so kind as to get my priceless treasure down for me, which he did, with a smile, in spite of the mess he and his colleague had on their hands. Fifteen minutes and fitty bucks later, I had myself a nice pair of kicks, a new brassiere for da' girls (brassiere? Damn! I sound like my great-grand mama!), and something pretty to look at in my new cell - er, I mean workstation. Still not a bad place to shop - but only if you've eaten well, are properly hydrated, and ready for combat! read more

This place is always so dirty and messy. The employees are really rude as well. Like any other Ross store, they have their bargains and sometimes you can find really nice stuff. But the customer service is terrible. I've also noticed that I always hear the intercom notifying parents to watch their children and they're not responsible if they're kidnapped or you have something stolen from you. It kind of makes you question your safety in the store. I've never heard those pre-recorded messaged at any other bargain store, like Marshall's or TJMaxx. And those stores have better stuff too. It's honestly very sad that I go to this Ross and everytime I purchase a pack of underwear I get different brands and I'm getting ripped off and you guys don't even check at all you guys need to check your stuff and make sure you ain't ripping people off I got a 4 pack and only 2 underwear's from 2 different brands and I got ripped off by 25 dollars. I came to this Ross because I recently got a new job (yay me!) and needed to buy all black clothing. Based on a few of the reviews before me I feel that I should note that I have only lived in the area for about a month and can not attest to any change merchandise or its quality. But what I can say is this, I was able to find at least 3 black tops that I liked that we're work appropriate (they had others but I'm very particular about certain fabrics due the fact that since they were work clothes and would be washed and worn a lot I wanted to avoid certain fabrics that don't wash well or require special treatment) Furthermore I was able to find many pairs of black pants in both regular and petite which was very nice considering most stores leave alone discount stores don't always have a great variety in petites. I had to settle for only getting two pairs of pants despite the great price but will go back for more once I get paid. Which brings me to my favorite part I was able to buy 3 nice work appropriate blouses, 2 pairs of pants, good socks, and some hair accessories for around $90 which is awesome unfortunately they on get 4 stars because like another review said the cleanliness is lacking especially in the fitting rooms where my all black clothing became covered in dust and dust bunnies. Another, more selfish complaint is that they didn't have a lot of 34D or 36D bras which I would have liked overall I will spend more money here read more

Don't come here. Not sure why Ross don't staff their employees when open. Only one person doing return. There were 6 people waiting to return and I am waiting for purchase. This Ross is huge and quite nice! Granted I went on a Monday afternoon so there weren't massive hoards of people...but I was pleasantly surprised. I usually get bedding and home/kitchen stuff at Ross...but the clothes/accessories here seemed worthy to sift through too, if one has plenty of time, that is, and can get over the fact that they're shopping at Ross! (Hey, ITE -- In this economy! Ain't no shame ;) ) I actually picked out a cute belt for $5.99 comparable to the ones that cost like $30-40 bucks at Express! Now THAT was a great find! So basically, if you need something specific in a pinch, or have a few hours to spare, go to this Ross on a weekday and snoop around...they close at like 9:30pm I believe! read more

This Ross location is pretty well stocked. I live near the Ross in Duarte and ultimately stopped going because they don't have a good selection. A friend of mine told me to come to the one in Pasadena and I was not disappointed. I came in looking for some cute accent furniture or accessories and I walked it with some great stuff. I even walked out with two Calvin Klein clothing items, that were in really good condition and decently priced. I would recommend this Ross for anyone looking for home goods or accessories as they have a great selection from candles, kitchen ware, to organizers. read more

If you have a day off, the BEST time to go shopping here is weekday mornings when they first open. I arrived around 9am and shopped for 2 hrs: -Clothes are straight and organized properly on the racks -Sales staff are friendly and helpful. -Fewer customers squeezing the aisles -New inventory This store has 2 levels: bottom is womens, 2nd floor is men's and home furnishings. I spent most of my time in the awesome dress section - lots of inventory, styles, and sizes. This trip I walked away with 2 nice dresses, 2 shirts, 1 cardigan, 1 poncho sweater, and 1 purse all for $84 including tax !!! read more

Good price and selection. Yes, I said that, good _selection_ at Ross! Got a summer internship (yay!) and observed on my orientation day that everyone was well dressed, more so than I expected. My old wardrobe of dress clothes has been left forgotten since the days that I was about 40 pounds heavier, so I had to get a new wardrobe, and fast. So we decided to head to Ross. The selection was good, even for a standard size (normally can only find waist less than 30'' or waist greater than 38'' at these discount clothing stores... but not here!). Found brands such as Dockers, St. John's Bay, Geoffrey Beene, Louis Raphael. Good fit, and good price at $15/pair. Just looked on some of the department store websites, and their "sale" prices are $30+/pair. Also got some dress shirts, about $13/shirt. Again, nice brand names like Van Heusen and Arrow. Good size selection and fit too, they had "Fitted" which works for my torso. read more

Mega last minute Xmas hours 8-7. Super mall cop security staring and eyeing you down. However you can find some really great deals at this Ross especially for home and pets. It is very well stocked and they are constantly getting in new inventory. I purchased this really cool giant furry pillow. Must have furry walls! one of the worse Ross stores I have been to employee wise. I shopped both floors and came down the escalator and saw a sign that indicated checkout so I walked up to the end of the lane and stood there a few minutes while employees checked out others. A heavy set guy said to me are you purchasing or returning I stated purchasing he said the line is back there pointing behind me...I said oh I followed the signs after I came downstairs, he said well you are in the wrong place .. making me turn around and wait behind someone who clearly walked up just before I did...IMO he should have said ok come on over and I check you out. As I was finally checking out I said to the gal this item doesn't have a tag on it but I know I paid clearance price of $6.00 at a different ross for this exact same shirt, she said well its $10.00 here...really different Rosses have different prices! I purchased it anyway as I like the shirt with the built in mask. I don't appreciate employees making up prices as I see it, she should have called a manager of the section to ask. I told her I wanted a ticket made and attached to the item incase I decided to return it due to the cost, I figure I can find it on clearance at another Ross. While she was working on the ticket I over heard a discussion between another customer and the same heavy set guy about the SAME unclear checkout area, like me she came up thinking the return line (which is the furthest from the door making customers walk through the store with items-IMO not smart due to returning of stolen items)....he refused to look at her as she tried to talk to him, she thankfully asked for a manager. I stated to her, he did the same thing to me. IMO those who work in the customer service area .. check out and returns need to have more compassion for the clients, if they can't they should work in the stockroom. read more

Came in to grab one item(shoe liners) then stood in line shortly a girl had just hopped on the register so I was walking up go her register with a brief "hi, do you need a bag?" I responded no thank you, since it was just one item. She totaled me up as I reached for my wallet for my cash she assumed I was paying with my card, no biggie. What my biggest concern was is it the store's policy to run every bill? Understandable for bills 20 and over but c'mon a $5 bill??! You have to do better than that to think I would be using counterfeit money on such a small purchase HA HA. Is this place really ghetto? I love Ross. I'm not sure how you can go wrong with Ross, but it is your typical cheaper clothing store. The quality varies depending on what items you buy. I don't shop too much for clothing, but mainly their shoes and home decor. They have lots of items you can find at other stores, but at Ross it is always cheaper. I love to come to this place to buy little gifts that I then hold onto in my "emergency gift box" for when I need to bring someone a little gift but don't feel like putting effort into shopping or for when I forget that I was supposed to bring a gift so that I can avoid last minute gift panic. They have great crap upstairs that is very well priced and fairly generic. Such as: cooking wear, candles, picture frames, nic-nacs patti-wacs, electronic accessories, games, pet supplies, wine glasses and openers, etc. I usually spend about $50 and get between 4 - 6 things so that I am set for a few months of small gift giving. I don't usually buy clothes here other than socks and underwear which are very cheap. Also, if anyone is looking for cheap luggage this is the place to go. Cons: - Lines are sometimes long and they don't always have the registers towards the front of the store on Lake open. :( - If you return something past 30 days they give you credit on a little paper store credit card. This is about a fancy as Ross gets (figures since it's located in Pasadena). Great, great parking that's accompanied by security guards in and out of the store, for starters. Even entry from the street seems upscale for a Ross, with big beautiful windows and displays! The whole first floor is a gal's paradise - women's clothes, shoes, bags, jewelry :) The second floor (accessible by escalator!) is full of kids and mens clothes, home decor, kitchen goodness, and to my interest, LOTS of pet products! I actually skip all the rest and head right to the pet aisles, they always surprise me with randomly amazing pet goods are SWEET prices! Anyway, the line here can seem long, but if you tag team it you can get through in a few minutes :) Don't let the line dissuade you from all the amazing-ness that is inside! Long lines! Ugh! But I did find two pairs of shoes and comfy bath shoes as well... but yeah... the lines are ALWAYS long! OMG. SHOES: The reason I came here... they didn't have much of a summer selection but they did have a lot of heel shoes. And basketball shoes - I saw LeBron's brand shoes! They have Shape Ups too! For $30... they are usually $100 from Spencer's! Wow. Not a lot of workout shoes... I saw some LA Gear and occasionally some Reebok, but not much. One of the more convienent and better Ross than most I've been to. They have most of the clothes organized on the racks and are usually easy to find the size you need. I love their stock of bakeware, glass, and ceramics. There are lots to select from and they are extremely cheap compared to like the Macy's across the street. read more
