My husband and I have been seeing Dr.Bloom for many years and can't imagine going anywhere else! He's very patient, meticulous and personable, and the staff is always efficient and courteous. We've never waited longer than a few minutes for an appointment. I can't say that the prices for their glasses are higher than normal; they carry designer brands and you get what you pay for. That said, they have a sale going on right now (December 2018,) so this is your chance to snag some stylish spectacles at a discount. What's also nice is that they don't do a hard sell. Quite a bad experience. I recently went with someone to Ross Eyecare on Piedmont road to get my presecription glasses. We were met with a rude optician lady who did not greet, did not smile, asked 'is there something you need help with ' and told us to sign in at the front desk and wait. We did that and waited. When the lady got done with the previous customer, instead of attending to us (we had been waiting for 25 minutes already) told her associate to take care of us (who was already busy with another customer) and walked off with a curt 'someone will be there to help you shortly'. Again no smile and no acknowledgement of making us wait. We just got up and walked out of the place. To be fair, I did see the same optician talking to the other customer in a friendly manner. However, based on my personal experience I can not recommend it to anyone else. read more

This by far has been the best place I have gotten my eyes checked at believe all the positive reviews. Dr. Butterwick was awesome! I went in because they are located across the street from where I have my salon and I read the reviews so I walked across the street and made a appointment. Front desk staff very friendly, got me in for a appointment fast no weeks waiting to get in. Later in the week I spoke to a friend/client and told me she goes to Ross Eyecare and Dr. Butterwick is her doc and loves him so I was really happy to hear that and that he was my doc. I've had issues with contacts fitting and I ride a motorcycle and would like to have contacts in rather than wear my glasses with riding glasses over them just not comfortable so it was really important to me to see a doctor that could really lead me in the right direction as to what kind I should wear and the prescription type. Dr. Butterwick was AWESOME!!! I have never had a eye doc ever spend the time he did with me explaining how my eyes are, what I should be wearing in glasses and his suggestions for contacts and why he felt like that. He gave me some sample contacts to try and told me if these didn't work he had a B and C alternative these weren't set in stone. OMG I was just so happy to hear how they will work with you and want to "hear" you if things aren't working for you, my last place was just awful the doc's could care less they just wanted you to get in and out and so what if you're uncomfortable. Last year I had vision insurance and this year didn't because I would rather than pay out of pocket and be able to chose where I want to go so I get proper care. Their cost for the visit wasn't bad considering the level of service, I can't speak on the cost of glasses, lenses or contacts as of now but I am going to speak to them about replacing lens in my current glasses and inquire on getting a sport/motorcycle pair of glasses. I have progressive lenses and trust me when you get those done you need to go to a place that is good because you can tell the difference in the cheap ones. This place Rocks! THE BEST!!! Dr. David Ross provides outstanding care and is so skilled at what he does. For years he has kept me out of bifocals and in comfortable contacts. He has a one stop shop -- The costs for care and the annual contact supply is reasonable. His entire staff is terrific. We lived in Atlanta many years and received his care but what speaks volumes is that now we live 130 miles away in South Carolina and he is the only health care provider that we continue to return to Atlanta to visit. read more

I've hit most of the waterfront during my 50 years in Atlanta, and this is the first time I've felt completely confident and at ease with the whole process. Personnel are wonderful, and the skill, knowledge and competence of Doctor Bloom is exceptional. Plus he just seems to be a great guy, and does a super job of explaining things and connecting with you. On top of all that, the office seems to be equipped with the latest state of the art equipment (way beyond what I've seen in any other eye care office I've been to), yet the costs seem to be in line with or even slightly lower than other eye care providers. My case is complex, but whether you have garden variety vision issues or something more complicated or troubling, I think you'll be not only satisfied but truly happy at Ross Eyecare. I had purchased prescription sunglasses a couple of years ago from Ross and recently broke them. Alas, Ross no longer carried the frames. This, as I found out, isn't just a style preference issue, it also means that my prescription lens would become unusable if the same frame style couldn't be used because the lens are custom cut to fit the frame. Anyway, Tosha went out of her way to track down new frames from the manufacturer that were identical to what I had prior to breaking the sunglasses. This saved me $250! In fact the receptionist was not helpful, explained I was out of network, even though I stated I fully intended to pay for my exam & glasses out of pocket. She made it clear that unless I had a particular insurance they did not want my business. I made 2 phone calls to this office because the reviews on the Drs were excellent, but no appointment for me! I had a wonderful experience getting the exam done. I like my new prescription. When I went to order my glasses I was surprised how much my part was after my insurance paid the majority. I picked some inexpensive frames out and placed the order and paid $130 out of my pocket. They said 7-10 business days to get them made. After 14 days I called and after investigating where my glasses were they found out the frames were lost in the mail and were never found. They ordered the frames again and said about 7 more days. I would call them a few times a week to find out the status and finally after calling them and getting placed on hold for over 5 minutes I hung up and stopped in. They assured me they would show up soon. Finally after 4 weeks and 3 days they called and had my glasses ready. The glasses are poor quality and uncomfortable to wear. I have stopped by and they adjusted once already but its time consuming. I have always ordered my previous glasses from Zenni Optical with fantastic results and quality because I never had vision insurance until recently. All I ever heard from Ross Optical Department was "I am sorry". No compensation offered or anything for the huge delay. I will continue to use Zenni for my glasses because they are fantastic. read more

The first visit was flawless and frankly it would have garnered almost all Very Good or Excellent ratings and a 5 star rating on here. It was prompt, friendly and thorough. I had to modify my rating down to a 2 because of the second visit. When I came the second time I waited 35 min to get in to see the Doctor and I was told all the results from my first visit were lost. The staff member who showed me to the room was mortified about the incident and apologized profusely. However, the Doctor barely made mention of it and compared to the first visit, this "redo" seemed terribly rushed and I only hope that when I get my glasses in about 10 days, it had completely corrected my vision issues. I won't do another redo at this office. Frankly it's a shame that whomever deleted my record tainted my entire experience with this office. Clearly there is a competency issue that needs to be addressed. Meanwhile people like me pay the price and shockingly nothing was done to make up for all the inconvenience . read more

Today was my first visit to Dr. Ross and the Ross Eyecare Group. I have had the misfortune of having experienced many different issues with my eyes through the years. Dr. Ross was knowledgeable about each procedure I've had. He methodically went through each one with me in order to make sure he knew exactly what was done in the past and what he'll watch for in the future. He took his time with me and I never felt rushed or dismissed. I'm quite certain he does that with all of his patients.
