I'm not a world traveler, or a frequent domestic traveler for that matter, but from Columbus to Houston - New York to San Fransisco (L.A.s not worth mentioning), Rossilli's is in THE TOP 5! The Veal Saltimbocca is my favorite, and I have a hard time not ordering it when I go, but they have about 20 entries, and of the ~ 10 I've tried, you can't go wrong. Depending on drinks, and appetizer preference - you can dine for about $30/person (soup/salad, dinner, glass of wine, tip). Stopped in for lunch because it's close to my office. The atmosphere was very nice and the staff was prompt and professional. I had the spicy seafood linguini for lunch. Portion was very generous, and it tasted great. The rolls were good, and I had a cup of the itialian meatball soup. Enjoyed it all. With a drink my total was $15.00. I was in and out in 30 minutes. Continuing to carouse the restaurants of downtown Findlay, today's lunch was at Rossilli's. Walking through the door, you're greeted with a nice ambiance and very clean restaurant, always a positive first sign. We were seated promptly as there weren't many people there at first for lunch, but the restaurant filled up quickly. Our waitress came quickly, was very friendly, and brought our drinks before we had time to fully cruise the menu. However, the waitress was very patient and gave us some more time to decide on what we were having. Normally when eating at a restaurant that claims to specialize in Italian food, I order the eggplant parmesan. However, I decided to try something different for lunch and settled on the south western grilled chicken panini. After taking our order, the waitress brought out house rolls to nibble on as we waited for our entrees. Before I could even finish my roll, my sandwich had arrived and looked delicious. At first, I was skeptical of a sandwich that included grilled chicken with the perfect hint of char flavor, coleslaw, and french fries (not as a side...on the sandwich); but it worked perfectly and the sweet chili mayo was the perfect complement to finish the sandwich. In addition, my sandwich was served with a dear spear (always a plus), and a bag of chips. In all, I had lunch for $7.25 and left full and very satisfied. I can't attest to Rossilli's for dinner, but would definitely go back to try. The food was great, the service was fast and friendly, and the atmosphere was very relaxing. Rossilli's is a great local place to enjoy lunch with a friend or a business partner. The ambiance is good, and although the space is long and narrow, diners still maintain a feeling of privacy in the tastefully decorated space. My lunch choice: Meg salad. Thought I am not generally a "salad person," this salad is worth a meal. Freshly warmed dinner rolls make the short wait for the salad seem even shorter. Horrible service took them 10 minutes just to a knowledge we were even seated. The salad was just a handful of bagged lettuce tossed on a plate with some dressing on top. The food was okay at best, they put my scallops under my pasta so they were over cooked before I could eat them all and there idea of fried clams was just a handful of cheap pre breaded clams tossed on top. My date got a pretzel covered chicken which was good but also nothing special. The staff were also just wearing street clothes not what I would expect for "fine dinning" it also took us forever to receive our check. After waiting 15 minute for them to to pick up the check to pay we left 50 enough to cover the bill and left. For the prices this place is charging the service is horrible the food is good but nothing special. I felt like of your not a regular the staff couldn't care less about you. read more

We frequent Rossilli's for date nights. Last night was the best experience we have ever had. It was very busy when we walked in for our reservation. James came right over to us despite being so busy! He was very attentive and asked how we were doing frequently. When we asked for things, like another round of drinks, he happily and promptly brought them to us. He gave all of the tables he was deal with with the same attention as he did us. Our appetizer, salads, and meals were timed out perfectly. The food was SPOT on this evening too! In visits past, our servers have seemed annoyed when we ask something, get to us when they have time with no promptness, and sometimes show favorability to other tables over ours. We just loved James. He made our experience better than ever at one of our favorite restaurants in town. We will be asking for him next time we go in! read more

We went there for dinner and were so disappointed! Our friends had suggested the Seafood Capellini and it sounded like a great idea. Our friends also both ordered the Seafood Capellini. I couldn't believe that a restaurant of this caliber would allow way overdone seafood to be delivered out to the table! Our friends didn't say a word, so I felt that I also couldn't complain to our waitress that it was totally unacceptable. (Nothing like being the only person at the table not liking how the meal was prepared). Hubby was not happy with his dish either. The salad was wonderful and was the highlight of the meal. I gave Rossilli's 2 stars because of the great service that we had and the tossed salad. Sorry to say, our memories of Rossilli's from 15 years ago (on the corner) did not measure up to the current food. One of my favorite restaurants. There are days I eat there for lunch and dinner and love that the menu is different. The stuffed mushrooms are like nothing I have had before. We tried this place even after reading the underwhelming yelp reviews. The outside is charming and very European looking. We got there at about 8 just past the dinner rush on a Thursday night. We were seated right away and the server was great. I had the bucatini and meatballs which had a spaghetti like pasta which was thicker than regular spaghetti. The sauce was great. Not sure what was in it but it was addictive. The three meatballs were tasty...I had to pace myself because I wanted to take some home for lunch the next day. My partner got the Rossilli's bake which had a meatball, sausage and eggplant Parmesan baked with four cheeses. It was excellent and there were no leftovers! The house made rolls were nice too. Enjoyed dinner here with a group of co-workers while in town for business. Cozy atmosphere, solid service, tasty (and not weak) cocktails, and delicious entree. I enjoyed the farfalle pasta with mushrooms, spinach, olives and more. The dinner rolls were also delish. Only negative was the iceberg lettuce starter salad - would expect a spring mix or similar lettuces from a restaurant like this (my colleagues' soup starters looked good - so you may want to opt for soup vs salad). On a business trip and came here based on a recommendation by a local hotel. Staff is incredibly friendly and place is really nice and clean. I was unsure what to order so I ended up with the Frola pizza which was fantastic, however after seeing the meatloaf and other dishes I know next time I will be trying something different. I came here for romantic date night with my boyfriend. Upon arriving we were told that the only tables open were the ones in the bar despite the fact that 1/3 of the dining room was open and remained open during our entire two hour dinner. I don't know, maybe they thought of us as young kids that wouldn't appreciate good food but they were pretty cold shouldered and unfriendly towards us during our time there. The food was decent. We both had the mozzarella tomato soup which was little more than simple tomatoes in a salty broth. For the main dish I had the Farfelle Pasta which I didn't feel was very Italian. It was incredibly greasy and had way too many sun dried tomatoes for me to actually appreciate the pasta taste. My boyfriend has the Seared Ahi Tuna which he loved. He was pleasantly surprised with the wasabi infused potatoes with ginger that complimented the tuna perfectly. For dessert I ordered a cosmopolitan which was pretty good but nothing special. Overall my experience with this restaurant could have been a good one if only we were treated with some kindness upon arriving. The seating issue and snobbish waitstaff put a bad taste in our mouths that lingered throughout our visit and soiled any enjoyable time we might have had. read more

The ambiance was very nice and dining area very Italian. However that is where the Italian experience ends. The "bread"they serve are actually knot rolls and served only with butter and not olive oil. The spaghetti sauce is so sweet it tastes like candied tomatoes and is not fit to eat except by those wishing to get diabetes. However the meatballs and minestrone soup were good. The staff were a bit put back about me not eating their food stating that they advertise their wonderful sweet sauce on the menu. Suggestion go to the store and buy some Paul Newman sauce and tell the chef to back to culinary school. read more

I have always thought that Rossilli's does an alright job. They are a step above an Olive Garden in that they use higher quality ingredients and the wait staff is better. Unfortunately every time I go here with a group someone's order gets messed up. Extremely disappointed with the service and discrimination from this place. We are unable to dine in the dining room because my mother is very ill and in a wheelchair and unable to leave the house. Still, we wanted to have a nice dinner for my mom's birthday and she chose this place. We called at 6 o'clock and asked if we could have a carry out order. They said yes and proceeded to take our order. They Did not mention a delay or say that we could not order at that time. We were ordering for four adults and three children so it was a relatively long order. Two of the people we are with have severe food allergies that they told us they could not accommodate. At some point during the order, they said it's going to be two hours before you can get this order, hoping that we would just cancel and give up. When we continued to order they became increasingly dismissive of us, putting us on hold several times. We explained the situation with my elderly mother in a wheelchair and small children as a reason we could not go into the restaurant twice and they were not at all understanding. I asked to speak to a manager and the owner got on and also made excuses, saying that his restaurant was too busy and he can't accommodate takeout orders. This was the first time we heard this. After 20 minutes their discrimination and poor service, we decided to order from Findlay brewing Company, which they were able to accommodate within a half hour and have a great meal. Both chickens were 1/4 inch thick and smooth. On both sides. Very bland. Scallop potatoes were cooked in pie dish and came as a wedge of potato. Not scallops potatoes. Scallop potato very bland. Other plate blackened meatloaf. It was so bad only three bites were taken. Had to get own beer from bar. This is Wednesday night at 6pm. So not busy. Asked to speak to manager. "Meg" comes over not Professional dressed and asks if everything ok. I tood Her about it all and her end statement was "sorry you didnt like it". The. She walked off. NEVER WILL I GO THERE AGAIN. Have been going to this downtown Findlay restaurant for years, and loved it. Unfortunately, this past weekend was very disappointing. New wine list has just the bare minimum of average wines. Server was rushing around, acted like he he didn't have time to wait on us. No eye contact, no greeting, had to ask for info on specials. Muscles were "off", absolutely no sausage in broth. Unfortunately we will never be back to this establishment. My husband and I have tried this restaurant twice and although the food was great for the most part, the service has been TERRIBLE. Customer service is a huge deal for us and that is the reason we won't be spending another dime there. The first & the second time we went were similar. Very slow almost non-existent wait staff. I have personally had extensive experience in the service industry and it is really not THAT hard. (both times we went were not even that busy). We do not mind paying whatever we need to pay for a good meal, but with service that bad it was hard to fork out $120 for two people. The thing that set us over the edge was that we couldn't find out waitress pretty much the whole time during both visits and when we FINALLY got our ticket and began to walk out of the door THE WAITRESS WAS SITTING AT THE BAR carrying on and having a good ol' time. Not even in the slightest concerned about her tables. You would think for as much time as she spent at the bar she would know more about the drink menu?? What a treasured find when we walked in here. The food was beyond amazing. We ordered the Meatball appetizer, which are home made and spiced perfectly with Italian flavored. It was so good that we ordered a second order. The entrees were likewise incredible. The special was the blackened pork chop which came with cheese grits and a goat cheese and asparagus enchilada. They all complemented each other perfectly and were absolutely delicious. My friend had the braised short ribs and they too were incredible. Highly recommend this gem in downtown Findlay. read more
