I picked up my sister up early from the airport and saw that Rosey's serves breakfasts. I read the reviews and it sounded good. I may have ordered the wrong item. I didn't see a lot of reviews on the Chorizo and Eggs which also came with hash browns but gave it a shot. The hash browns were perfect, nice brown crunch on both sides, hot and tender on the inside, absolutely delicious. The scrambled eggs and chorizo were a bit well done and the corn tortillas seemed on the dry side. My sister had the Hobo breakfast and thought the biscuit and gravy was great. The biscuit was flakey and she thought the gravy was flavorful and very good. She also enjoyed the country potatoes with the peppers and pieces of bacon in it. She said the eggs were cooked perfect and delicious. I ordered Churro French Toast to go for my wife. I don't know if they normally make the Churro French Toast with the bread ends. The bread ends made the French Toast very dry. We will cross that plate off of our list of items to try again. The service was very attentive and the woman who helped us was very nice. On my next visit, I am going to go with the country fried steak breakfast. I look forward to my next trip and the hash browns. read more

My favorite breakfast joint in Hayward! Small restaurant in the Grocery Outlet strip mall on B Street at Vermont. Open for breakfast and lunch. My go to breakfast is the Chile Verde Omelette. Juicy and filling. Carnitas omelette is good, but not as great as the Chile Verde. A very good chicken fried steak, too. Ask for the homemade salsa to top your omelette! I introduced my friends to Rosy's when they wanted to take me out for my birthday. I tried the Chile Verde Omelet with extra crispy hash browns and English muffins and it was great. One of my friends ordered the Chicken Fajita Omelet with the same sides and she told Jaimie, our waitress, and owner's daughter, that it was one of her best breakfasts. Another friend enjoyed her Strawberry/Banana smoothie and another enjoyed her Huevos la Mexicana, though she wished she ordered the hashbrowns instead of "home fries" since they were kind of plain. I enjoy potatoes like that if they add onion and green peppers. We enjoyed our coffees with refills. I was looking around for places that was close by to home and saw Rosy's Cafe. Upon arriving we were seated and given the menu to look over. The staff was super kind to us when we got there. We got 2 Breakfast Special #4 (one with bacon and one with sausage), 1 Big Boy 3 Bacon and Eggs, a Waffle with Banana and Pecans, an ice caramel coffee and a vanilla milkshake. Everything came out in a timely manner, big portions and it was delicious! I didn't think my meal will be that filling but it was. Hubby ended up getting full with his meal that we all shared the banana and pecan waffle! I would say we will definitely be coming back here for breakfast again! This is also a local place with excellent food, all made on the spot. Their home fries, for example, are made from regular potatoes rather than tasteless frozen fries. Since I love to cook from scratch and I am a very good cook, my best compliment is that this is the best of home cooking. The staff is helpful and friendly and will add ingredients to your meal if requested. The service is excellent and rendered with a smile. Breakfast is an excellent choice, or possibly brunch. The thing that I liked, and wished most restaurants were like this, the kitchen is completely open. You see how clean the kitchen is and can watch your food being prepared. Now the not so good. It is a small place and the booths are so tight together I could hardly get my legs under the table, forget about crossing them. It was very cold inside, my husband had to run out and get my jacket so I wouldn't freeze. The food was so-so, nothing I couldn't have made at home. Part of the lure of eating out is because it's different from homemade. I had the avocado cheese omelet with hash browns. The hash browns were kind of creamy inside, something I'm not used to and wasn't expecting. Also, vegetarians beware the hash browns are made with bacon grease. My omelette was also ok, the cheese wasn't melted, but I dealt with it until I bit down on egg shell. That's when my breakfast was over. My husband got the pancakes, sausage, and eggs. I got my food and my boyfriend got the ribeye steak and eggs. They cooked our over easy eggs & crispy hash browns perfect! The batter on my chicken fried steak was soooo light and the steak itself was juicy! The gravy was a tad salty but I didn't mind it too much. I've been here in the past as my sister used to live in the area. The food was decent and service pretty good. Went this morning and it was terrible all around. I had my own drink and Rosy stated we don't allow outside drinks. But I saw countless men come with their own coffee cups and she didn't say anything to them. On top of that my bacon and toast were very burnt and not edible. She never came to check on me and my sister after we received our food. My scrambled eggs could've been fluffier, french toast could've been better with more butter (which I know I could've asked for but better judgment prevailed). All in all, like before, food was okay. We had the food here to-go and then came here in-person twice in one week. It's that good! We also got the same dishes because we thought it was so good. I had the huevos rancheros with rice and beans and my partner had the chicken fried steak with hash browns. The eggs were cooked perfectly over easy though I asked for overhard the next time because I don't like too much yolk. The chicken fried steak had really good seasoning and prepared well. The hash browns that came with it was a little soggy to-go but crispy in-house so our preference is definitely to eat inside the store. My partner got Sunnyside up and liked it too, and his hash browns predictably When we called, it took them 20 minutes to prepare our food. Inside the store, it took about 10 minutes to prepare. For both plates and a coffee it was about $30. Pretty reasonable and a lovely mom and pop place. This place has become one of our breakfast go-to places! And they use compostable straws. Felt like it needed more spice but the portion was perfect. - the hash browns were crispy and delicious! Total was $24.26 which is a pretty decent price for breakfast food in the east Bay Area. This place isn't to die for but it's pretty good and I definitely would stop by again to try more things on their menu! (Noticed they started selling birria tacos!!!)
