I have had dinner here a few times, and it has always been good. They are open on Sunday evenings, so we like to stop in for dinner after the symphony. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a small place with a very cool vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I usually make a reservation, although on my most recent visit, I wouldn't have had to. I enjoyed a Clap of Thunder, which is their take on an Old Fashioned. We ordered Roasted Olives for the table, and for our entrees we had Gnocchi Calabrese, Chicken & Spinach Ravioli and pizza. The service was a bit off on our most recent visit, but they were training a new employee, so I'm hopeful all will be back to normal on our next visit.

Pulling up the street, the decor is the first thing that hits you from the outside and when you enter, wow! Thoughtfully decorated, this place pulls you in and makes you forget we're in St. Louis. The space isn't very large, so make a reservation for sure. They make great use of the space and employees are plentiful, which is rare these days. I settled on the Joselyn cocktail which was a fruit forward profile and a bit on the sweeter side. Meal, went with the Chef's Ragu which this evening was a meat blend of lamb, chicken, beef and pork. The dish was huge, definitely lots for the cost. Flavors were wonderful and the pasta itself wasn't heavy and definitely freshly made. The owner is super friendly and can be seen making rounds to the tables. He was friendly and welcoming.

Rose by Peno is our jam! We've been here several times! It's #stlouispescatarianapproved We have had several smoked salmon pizzas lately so if this is a trend, let's keep it around please! Rose's smoked salmon pizza was delicious! Some new things at Rose by Peno... the new balcony seating & brunch!! For our menu, we have chosen Marseille, one of the oldest cities in France, to base our concept around. Marseille is, much like our Calabrian sister restaurant (Peno in Clayton), a small port town. Located in the south of France, the people of Marseille are known to do a lot of heavy fishing and even more serious cooking. - website

BOUGIE BRUNCH ME PLEASE Brunch @rosebypeno was a VIBEEEEEEEEE!! FOOD: .5/5 SERVICE: /5 DRINKS: .75/5 OVERALL: .75/5 This restaurant is easily going to be one of my favs!!! We started with the waffle and avocado toast and when I say... the food is made with love and a little "sprinkle sprinkle".. JUST HEAVENLY!! You can tell they grow their own tomatoes and other veggies because the flavor is elite. Period! There was not one thing that we didn't love.. but I do recommend if you are greedy like me.. get multiple plates Also- if you get the burger-- use some of that avocado from the avocado toast because that combo is UNMATCHED There are so many cocktails and each one is handcrafted honey! Expresso martini- YUP Black salted Marg... Uh-huh .. even the drink with absinthe was divine .. obsessed with this restaurant!! We didn't get to sit inside because they had a baby shower but were so excited to bless the patio on the day it opened. Super cute, a few tables and love seats...and I adored how it overlooked lafayette square. Honestly, just grab your humans and get a resy... idk what you are waiting for!!!!!!

I absolutely enjoyed my experience with Rose by Peno. I have heard great things about this place for a while now and I'm glad that I had the chance to try it out for myself. First of all, the restaurant is located right off of Lafayette square, fitting perfectly with the other cute restaurants around that area. It is a nice addition to the food scene there. Even though it's a little small, I do like the interior design and the intimate atmosphere of this restaurant. It's a great choice for date nights and small group gathering. They have a good variety of food and drink options. I ordered the Octopus appetizer, Pizza Basquiat and Tiramisu. The Octopus is served with rich sauce and crispy toast. The Pizza Basquiat is in a good size for 2 or 3 people and is also very delicious. The tiramisu is very light and creamy. I highly recommend checking out their drinks. I ordered a NA drink and it was so tasty. Overall, I would return to Rose by Peno to try out other dishes and rinks on their menu. I give this place 4.5 out 5 only because the food was a little salty for my taste.

Peno has been one of my favorite restaurants in STL and their new venture, Rosé by Peno, is no exception. Their food is delicious, the ambiance is perfect for a fun night out, and the new brunch is a MUST! Street Parking. Reservations Recommended. MY FAVS: Pan-Roasted Trout, Raclette Turnover, Pasta Norma

Really cute place, cool vibe, and great food and service! I liked how the interior decor matched the menu design. I ordered the Girl's best friend drink, and my best friend ordered the Dinner & A Show drink. We both liked them. We split the beet & pear salad, she ordered the chicken cannelloni, and I ordered the chef's ragú of the moment, which involved all the meats lol (the waiter listed off literally 5+ animals). All the food was delicious! It was funny when the salad came out and there were no greens. I'll definitely come back with my husband (maybe in a month or two to take advantage of a new seasonal menu).

    Puff pastry bliss!

If you're anywhere near Lafayette Square in STL, this rustic, neighborhood gem is a must-try. It's got the quirkiest (and tastiest) Italian-centric menu this side of the Mississippi. With its tight-knit, intimate vibe (both figuratively and literally), you may want to sit at the bar for a bit more breathing room. Plus, our bartender Sanjay had our backs from the nanosecond we sat down, suggesting both appetizers and entrees. Before our drinks arrived, Sanjay had delivered a small amuse-bouche of oyster couscous, which was perfection in one bite. My friends agreed at that moment we had chosen wisely in our culinary efforts. The food--all of which is rich and flavorful--is a wild, mixed bag of homemade pastas and sauces along with a smattering of gourmet pizzas. We opted to try the spinach and ricotta puff pastry, which literally melted in our mouths. (Props to whomever made the crust. It was bliss.) Be prepared, tho'--while the place is a culinary feast for the senses, it's also incredibly loud. Like, overwhelmingly so. Maybe there were just some rowdy patrons the night we went--who knows? But the food and service here both make this place a standout from any bistro in the city. Mangia bene!

First time visiting this very talked-about venue!

I've been looking forward to trying this new spot for several weeks. They have been open for two months now and seem to have those new restaurant kinks ironed out nicely (assuming they even had kinks). Rose by Peno has a great small spot in the Lafayette Square neighborhood just down the street from Squires. We found a nice table out on front patio and enjoyed great service from Jocelyn! We started out with Octopus which was wonderful! It's slow-braised, with fennel sausage in a delicious tomato saffron broth. Take what you might know about Octopus and throw it out the window. This is something completely different!. My party shared the Salad Rose and the Olive and Grape Salad. The former was okay, but the O and G was really interesting. With mixed olives, burnt orange, fresh orange, wild oregano and a sesame breadstick, there were all sorts of flavors partying on our tastebuds! Very nice salad indeed. For one entre, we went with The Godfather pizza. Kudos to the chef for this creative masterpiece with Mortedella, pecorino, onion, mozzarella, EVO and of course.....wild oregano. For good measure, we added goat cheese which elevated this already insane flavor festival to another level! The Godfather is the GOAT! Another thing I liked was the vast selection of wine, especially, Rose....go figure. However, these wines were on the pricey side, so be prepared for that. Since this was my first visit, I want to experience more of the menu before bestowing the vaunted 5-Stars! But I'm feeling pretty good about my next visit!

Excellent Pizza and Pasta. Some of the best we've had. Very cheesy! No reservation but they still accommodated us. Nice wine, and great service overall. We sat outside, in the shade. No complaints! We'll be back!

We had a couple of questions that she help answer right away. The restaurant was fairly busy, but we got to sit upstairs away from most of the noise. Now, the food! First, we ordered way too much. We tried the pear and fig flatbread and split a Mayfair salad. The salad was not what we expected but the flatbread was great! Try that if you have the chance! Both of our drinks (the sangria and Sicilian manhattan) were delicious and looked great. Main courses we tried were the smoked pork chop and the cauliflower pasta with grilled chicken. We arrived right on time for our reservation, stood for quite a few minutes in a half-empty house before being seated, then waited a very long time between visits from our apparently over-stretched waitstaff. The first cocktail I chose wasn't available; nor was the first entree. I settled on the "red wine flight", and it arrived in three glasses. The server recited their names, but I didn't catch them. Food was middle of the road. A smoked sirloin sandwich was tasty, though rather well-done. And the order of "salmon cakes", which the menu says is made of "smoked salmon, roast corn, tomato, cucumber, creme fraiche, and capers" was in fact just one cake (not cakes!), smaller than a hockey puck (about 1/2" thick max) and seemed to be made of canned fish, not the bright orange of smoked salmon. It was accompanied by five thin slices of cucumber and three or four halved grape tomatoes. No corn, no capers. It was so boring, and an overpriced disappointment at $23. If this Bridge is actually closing and focusing on the event space, they've gone out with a whimper. There was ice filled to the top to give an illusion of a full drink, but it was obviously not full. After being seated outside, I ordered a red Sangria. It was sweet, tart, and the perfect drink to go with the Dylan Pizza. The pizza was incredible and Neapolitan-style. It was smooth and the combination of flavors worked well.
