    Skirt Steak & Brussels Bowl
    D M.

We had a brief time before boarding a boat for the architectural tour, so we headed over to Roti for a healthy lunch. We had the steak and Brussels sprouts bowl. It was delicious and filling for two people. Service was prompt and courteous, and food was tasty. The ambiance is casual, and the place clean and tidy.

This place was amazing. I was not expecting to like it as much as I did. I ended up building my own bowl with rice, greens, chicken, and a ton of different veggies. The portions are SO big, and they do not skimp out on meat protein portions at all. I really liked how the bowl came with a side of freshly baked pita bread. It was soooo good. The employees were super nice and efficient when building the bowl. The place is casual but with so much nautral light because of the ceiling high windows. There were some tables and booths, but they were taken. So we ended up sitting at the small high tables overlooking the streets near the window, which was a great place to eat and people watch. Will definitely come back here and try more of their bowls and proteins

I was back in Chicago for a conference (after having lived here for 3 years) and had to come back to Roti, as it used to be a weekly go-to lunch spot. Pros - The quantity of the food hasn't changed where you can still get your bowl filled to the brim and they don't skimp! (It's a little more than Chipotle, withva bowl, a pita, and a drink being $18.) - The speed of service was great. From the time I walked in until I was seated was less than 5- minutes which was great. Cons - The pita was DRY! (Granted I did go at about 11:30a, but still super dry.) The chicken also could have used a bit more spice/Flavoring. - The customer service also wasn't the best, but things change, so could have been worse!

Food here is good! But the name confuses me Roti is Indian not Mediterranean! Then they serve the bowls with a pita. Love all the different toppings you can put on your bowl. Harissa Chicken is great. The pita is great. Ended up coming here twice in one trip and the last trip they were out of pitas but still charged you full price. Restaurant is designed for solo diners to grab lunch but still has areas for couples of groups to dine together.

Wanted to have a light dinner before seeing a show at the Goodman Theater and decided to try Roti, which is a quick walk away. We each ordered the Harissa Chopped Chicken Salad, and OMG was it delicious! The chicken was extremely juicy and flavorful, and all of the veggies in the salad were fabulous. Even though it was dinnertime, the veggies were all crisp and fresh. The salad was served with plush, warm pita bread - yum! Seating was limited, and there was a steady stream of customers, but no one had to wait for a table, and the staff was really nice. I'm already thinking that the next time I'm in Chicago, I'll want to return to Roti.

Food// Great portion sizes and reminds me of Cava in California but Roti has whole chickpeas as a side, falafel with some whole pieces of chickpeas, olives, tahini and red pepper as a dressing, crispy pita crisps no extra charge along with pita. Some downsides in comparison to Cava: -They do charge more for half salad and half grain for a bowl. -1 type of hummus but have other sauces and different toppings ie olives and pickles Service// Super quick and easy to build your own bowl. Restroom requires a code and water cups on the side Ambiance// Plenty of seating, clean and good grub that's affordable

Wow, I don't think I've been to a Roti before. They're great! We had a salad and a salad and grain bowl. We had the veggies with 2-falafel add-on, but they have chicken and salmon too. They have a large selection of toppings and sauces that are all included. It is all fresh and the place is clean. They were super good and filling. I look forward to our next visit.

Falafel greens and grains bowl with veggies, hummus, and hot honey harissa

The service was great! Ordered the greens and grains falafel bowl. They were out of falafel so after a short wait we got it hot and fresh. The employee even brought it out to our table. Food was delicious. The hot honey harissa was super good though not really as spicy as I hoped. My only complaints are the dining area was a little dirty and the music was a little loud.

This is a new location off of Michigan Ave. I had my favorite The Steak Roti and it was fully loaded! It opens 10/20.

A brief background; been in Chicago for about 15 years. Heard of Au Cheval back in 2015 or 16. Took a while to give it a shot and went; wait for 2 hours. Hmmmmm, didn't work out. Tried a second time 2 or 3 years later. Still didn't happen. Tried a third time when I had a friend visiting from overseas....wait time was just so long and just didn't have the 'desire' to wait that long. I think for the first time in my life, I had to kick myself as I wish I would have waited the very first time. Had my nephew visiting me from out of town. While I did want to take him to Au Cheval, with the limited time I had, I did not want to wait. I happened to go on their website and noticed that they now offer reservations. That was one of the most beautiful sights I had seen in a long time. Not only do I get to take my nephew out to Au Cheval, but I myself finally get to try the burgers here that have been the talk of the town and were rated the best burger in the United States of America for many years. My nephew absolutely devoured and loved the burger. He was in heaven. I cannot say I was not in heaven myself because the burger was absolutely epic, but that's not just what this review is about. This review is about one of the few joints in America that I have come across and that provided the level of attention to detail and went way above and beyond what I would have ever imagined in my wildest dreams to make this a memorable lunch. She had gone with my mother-in-law as well, so it was my mother-in-law, my nephew, and I. My mother-in-law is a vegetarian, and we figured we would go ahead and get the fries. What we did not know was that the fries are in beef tallow or have some beef seasoning (I forget), so in the end, she was not able to eat anything. My nephew and I just ordered each a burger. Our server proactively brought a house salad, which was vegetarian, and he said, "This is on the house. You guys enjoy the burgers." That, honestly, is a level of service that goes beyond usual service, but there was human empathy involved here. After a while, the head chef comes out, super friendly, and asks how everything was. He then says, "I heard you've been waiting 10 years over here, and I hope it was worth it." He made sure my mother and I were comfortable, and he made sure my nephew was comfortable. The level of service and care here was very special, and I personally appreciated it from the heart. For me, it was a memory built with my nephew and my mother-in-law, one that is going to stick with us for the rest of our lives. Not to mention, I am getting hungry right now, so I need to make a reservation and go down there tomorrow.

We popped in here for a quick bite before husband's show in Wrigleyville. It was pretty empty what we arrived and the overall ambiance feels sterile. I got the veggie version of the Little DMK and the Lazy Refresher mocktail. *I ordered fries for us to split, which is when the waitress warned me about the fries. I really appreciated the call out, but was surprised it wasn't on the menu itself. Husband got the patty melt and noted that the beef tasted very peppered. Both burgers were fine.
