I stopped going to roti for a while because their portions were such a rip off for what you pay for. But this location opened up near my office and I wanted to give it a shot again. And it was really good. The portions were decent again. However here's another example of a company/restaurant trying to make a good impression on their customers and then once they get loyal customers they try to rip you off. I just came back from roti furious. There's literally only 4 pieces of chicken and I paid $10 for it. I'm so sick of these rich greedy cheap establishments. I'm done with this place. These morons suddenly decided it'd be smart to dump all of the side sauces you order into the bowl, completely ruining it. I just ordered from Uber eats and added a note specifically asking that they do not dump the sauces in the bowl and leave them in side plastic cups like they always have in the past. Apparently that is just too much to ask from these geniuses and they dumped all of the sauce in the bowl anyway. Just an utter lack of common sense. I can't speak for all Roti's but this one in particular is garbage. Do not ever go here, unless you like all of your side sauces mixed into the bowl with no control over the quantity. Excellent Medley Salad. This is a perfect salad, fresh vegetables, chicken and nicely seasoned.

The food is good as it usually is. This review is regarding a particular employee (one who initially takes orders, didn't catch name unfortunately), who looked extremely irritated, tossing and slapping food on plates, and glaring at customers. She eventually asked me for my topping choices, and within a second walked away without a second word or look. This occurred around 1:15 on 9/11/19, and was not isolated to me. People have bad days all the time, but please don't bring that negative nonsense to your work and throw it on others. read more

Decent place to go if you want a fast casual Mediterranean place. The options you get here are good although I do have to say the food is a little dry. This is good hummus! I'm picky about my Middle Eastern food, but this is delicious. It reminded me of how we are traveling to places in Jerusalem, Haifa and Nazareth. Lots of chopped salads with all kinds of fresh veggies in a citrus dressing. Their roasted broccoli was my favorite. The falafel had great flavor though the texture was soft. This a small, easy place for a quick Mediterranean bite. I've only been here once but had a good experience. Ordering was super fast and I loved the selection of sauces/dressing they had. The portion is a good size for sharing. The rice and chicken were very flavorful and I was left feeling full but not unhealthy or gross (which is a difficult balance to achieve). Stumbled across this place as an option for a quick and easy lunch that we could order and pick up. We ordered a chicken roti sandwich and a chicken kebob sandwich; both were quite large and absolutely delicious. There were several options for extra stuff to add to each one (for no additional charge)-- the lemon oregano pickles and dill cucumber sauce were both amazing. Ordered catering for a family event for an 11:30 pickup today. I show up at 11:40 in a rush and am asked to wait for 10 minutes just to be told that my prepaid pickup order was given to grub hub. I was told that they were trying to call grub hub to see if they could bring my food back after lord knows how long they've had it. That's definitely not safe or professional. I ended up being 30 minutes late to my event that I was hosting because I had to wait for them to remake everything. No credit no refund no discount offered. Great spot if you are looking for a tasty, but pretty heathy, quick meal. My go to is the rice dish which has never steered me wrong, but the salad has also looked good. I would definitely recommend trying the garlic sauce as well as the hotter sauces. The place can get pretty busy being so close to apartments, the park, and businesses. Roti is a type of Indian bread, and Indian cuisine is far removed from Mediterranean food, so it seemed that there was come cultural and geographic confusion in the name. But...the food is quite good. What distinguishes Roti from other "make your own bowl" type places is that the ingredients are much tastier and fresher. The vegetable toppings and sauces, in particular, were very flavorful and I got almost all of them (they don't limit the veggie toppings, just the protein choice). Today was my second time coming to Roti, and I suggested it for lunch with my group of friends. I really enjoyed Roti my first time, and the second time was also just as good. For 9 dollars, you can get a chicken roti, or chicken kebob (or both, which is what I did). The chicken is well flavored, and tastes delicious. I do wish that they do give a bit more rice, but nonetheless I was still full and satisfied by the end of the meal. For a while I'd been off Roti, not really due to any issues with the food but because I worked at a place where this was constantly on order, which tends to run anything into the ground. I stopped by this relatively new location on Lake Street, by the Mila apartments, the other day as it was an odd time (between lunch and dinner) and I knew that the crowds of workers would have thinned out by then. This is an assembly line style restaruant with a variety of bases and meats/falafel available from with to choose. I went with the mixed greens and the chicken kabob. It seems like Roti has gone through somewhat of a renaissance, as I could pick as many toppings and sauces as I'd like, free of charge, as I moved down the line. My favorites were the cucumber/feta salad (yes, I know I could make this at home, but sometimes ease and convenience win out). I am also a fan of the large pearl couscous salad. One worker named Tatiana is always most helpful on Sundays this particular night she seemed bothered by a customer. That's It For Roti Started going to basically 2 locations in the Loop. One on Dearborn and the other on Lake st. I like the food, but many times preparation leaves much to be desired. Rice sometimes can be undercooked ...falafel sometimes look like its been laying there for awhile. Whole area where food is prepared can look like a mess. All this can be overlooked if staff is friendly and welcoming....and this is my main complaint, Seems like these locations are understaffed.....so waits can be long. People that work there seem sullen and not very friendly. I visited the location on Lake St this evening. Only two guys working so again long wait . When he finally got to me and started my order...he recognized the person behind me and stopped with my plate and asked her what she wanted. He then proceeded to prepare her plate and told me to wait. This was a definite no no. Too many places to get a meal in the loop to have to put up with this. Left and got a burrito .
