Not good! After attending a Yelp event on Saturday at the Roti on Washington & Dearborn, I was immediately hooked! Ev-er-y-thing was excellent...from Chef Molly & staff, to the food. It was my 1st visit and I was already looking forward to my next Roti meal. I decided Roti was going to be my new "go to" for a fast, light & healthy meal. Boy was I wrong! I ordered chicken kabob, rice, kale salad and hummus. The chicken kabob pieces were sooooo small AND obviously overcooked. Some pieces were actually burned. YUCK! The pieces that weren't burned were dry and devoid of any flavor. The rice was extra dry and also flavorless. It looked like it was a few days old. Ewww! The kale salad didn't wow me like it did when I had it on Saturday. Instead of saying Kale Yeah, I said Kale No! The only consistent item was the hummus. It was just as DE-LISH as it was on Saturday. There's really no excuse to serve burned chicken pieces. Staff may not know it is flavorless, but they damn sure saw it was burned. I love a lil char on my protein, but burned is unacceptable! Food-wise, this place isn't anything groundbreaking. But it's one of the better places to grab a quick bite if you're running errands around the shops here. Definitely better than Olive Mediterranean Grill if you're craving that cuisine! It's set up like a Chipotle, Subway, etc. You can choose between a sandwich, plate, or salad. We both got rice plates. I had the spicy lamb meatballs, which were OK. They had a little kick to them, but nothing too crazy. Their toppings include red cabbage slaw, Jerusalem salad, roasted vegetable, hummus, couscous, and more. Overall, I was satisfied with my quick lunch before heading back out for more errands. I ate at Roti on North Ave. twice in two weeks at around the same time each visit. I eat from here every weekend and I order food for Friday and Saturday meals. This morning I got up and once again was disappointed by my order. As you can see from the pictures I ordered a chicken rice bowl. There is definitely not one grain of rice and a negligible amount of chicken but a bowl full of lettuce...which is not what I paid for. I LOVE ROTI...but I need to break up with them. Their meals have been disappointing me lately...this is not the first time this has happened. There is ALWAYS a problem...Either the delivery never comes, the food is wrong, or when it does come it's obvious they ran out of food or were too light in their serving. New favorite lunch spot! So happy this opened at such a great location! Admittedly, I'd never been to a Roti restaurant until now- but they've officially got a new fan for life. Tucked into the shopping mall at North Avenue & Clyborn, right near the West Elm and Best Buy. Freestanding building with ample parking in the surrounding lot. Brand new location with lots of windows- a nice, bright space and super friendly employees. Everyone was cheerful, and very helpful. Then there's the food. Far surpassed my expectations. Same concept as my more familiar fave, Chipoltle. You pick a method (salad, rice, or sandwich) and then your protein and toppings in a fast casual bar like setting. Had the chicken ("roti chicken") as a sandwich as well as a falafel rice plate. The chicken was delightfully seasoned and moist- flavorful but not overly saucey, two thumbs up! The falafel tasted freshly made and had some whole chickpeas intact inside them. Rice itself was delish and we'll seasoned. Nothing bland about any of the food! Great fast-casual build-your-own type of spot with plenty of allergen friendly options. Most of the menu is gluten-free and vegan friendly, they even have a GF/Vegan pita bread option . Delivery was quick and the food was fresh and tasty. This place is awesome. Great food, fantastic staff, and gorgeous space inside and out. Easy parking. Can't ask for anything more. I'm used to Olive and love that place but roti has so many more veggies to pile on the plate. My wife and I are in the area frequently and we've been meaning to come here since it opened about a year ago. We should've come sooner. We both loved this place and will be back very soon. The food was actually pretty good, for "casual semi-fast" Mediterranean food. I had the chicken kabob, vinegarette cucumber-tomato salad, falafel, rice and a canned drink. The reason I'm giving two stars, when I'd like to give four or five, is because the servers were literally rushing me through the service line -- and there was a grand total of zero people behind me, and a grand total of four others already dining in the restaurant. The servers seemed extremely bored and ALL were borderline rude and plopped the food into the bowl like I would imagine an Army mess hall (or a prison or school cafeteria would serve it up) and the presentation was horrific. Communication is near impossible because the music was on high-blast and the acoustics of the space (very high ceilings) amplified all sounds. What is the rush, Roti staff and management? As stated you gave me reasonably good food, but the rush through the line was a huge disappointment. It's doubtful I will return -- maybe -- but doubtful. read more

I gave this guy behind the counter my order slowly to make sure there was no mistake of what I wanted. Dude what was not playing attention and threw a huge amount of Feta cheese on my plate. I do not even like Feta cheese, at all. The guy mistaken put Feta on my plate and then asks "You didnt want Feta right?" and tried miserably to take it off. Really love the concept of Roti, but the food was really sub-par. Purchased three bowls, 2 with chicken which was clearly old and rock hard. The 3rd bowl was with falafel which had a good flavor, but again was dry and old. The rice and the pita was that way as well. What gives? Used to love this place. Super clean. Today I went in for lunch and the employees were grabbing all the food WITH THEIR HANDS even though each bin had scoops or tongs. They would also open drawers, tough the computer, grab dressings that have sat there all day without being wiped AND THEN GO BACK AND GRAB FOOD WITH THEIR HANDS WITHOUT CHANGING GLOVES.
