Magnificent spot in London. Recommended by a relative and it didn't disappoint. I don't remember the names but it was phenomenal! The dessert was truly the icing on the cake! Great service as well. Great great spot and I recommend the dishes below. Can't wait to have roti king when I'm back! Atmosphere is pretty neat seated right next to kitchen and it was epic

The Battersea Power Plant area is amazing with so many shops, restaurants and bars. It has changed so much. My husband remembers when it was a decrepit area in need of much repair. We stopped at a local brewery and their kitchen, so we decided to visit Roti King. The tables were close together, you can definitely talk to your neighbor, but the service was good, and the food was decent. My husband enjoyed his lamb roti with a lentil soup. I'm glad they stayed open after 8 pm.

11/10 this place is so addicting. I was in London for 2 weeks and I ate here 5 times! I left London a week ago and I'm already craving some roti king. The dahl is to die for!

Decided to go for Malaysian food for my first meal in London and Roti King did not disappoint! Worth the wait imo. My party of 4 came for dinner. We arrived at the restaurant on Sunday evening around 6:30 pm and there was a decent sized line outside. We waited 45 minutes before getting seated, though I think it's a bit faster if you're a party of 2 as the party behind us was seated first. It's a small restaurant with not a lot of tables. I don't recommend coming with more than 3 others, since I'm not sure whether they can seat larger group. The menu is super straightforward with one page of drinks and the other side is the food. The menu isn't extensive here, which makes it easy to quickly decide what to get. We shared the roti canai with chicken (£9.75), though they offer it with various proteins like lentils, fish, and even mutton. It was the first dish to come out and was delicious! The roti is still hot from the stove and is super soft and flaky. The chicken curry dip was fantastic as well. We killed this super quickly. We also shared the spiced fried chicken (£9.50 for 5 pieces) and thought it was solid. For my main, I got the kari laksa (£11.50) since it was a bit chilly out and I wanted something hot and soupy. There was a slightly sweet coconut flavor to the broth, but it tasted a bit bland, perhaps because I was eating it directly after the roti canai which was very flavorful. It doesn't look like a bit bowl when it first comes out, but there's a lot of shrimp and bean sprouts hiding in there. The broth was also a bit spicier than I was expecting, but it was manageable. My friend got the char kuey teow (£11.50). I tried a bite and thought it was delicious, though portions were smaller. Service was a bit dicey, and we had to ask for tape after three times before we finally got it. Still, the food was good. I'd go back if I visit London again!

I love Malaysian food so I've been always looking for Malaysian restaurants at any destinations I travel to. I discovered Roti King on Google Reviews. The restaurant was a short walk from Euston station. We arrived 30 minutes before the restaurant opened at 12, but there were already several people in the queue. As soon as we entered the queue, more people came in even though it was raining. They had a designated area for queuing. The restaurant was quite small but clean. It's definitely not for a big group. We could also see the chef making roti canai in front of us. We ordered a several dishes and drink to dine in and couple of dishes to go. Mutton Roti Canai was recommended, but we decided to go with Fish Roti Canai. For those who never have roti before- it's a flaky flatbread similar like paratha. The roti was so fresh and fluffy. Fish curry was delicious!!!! It was so good that we had to get it again for dinner. This time, we ordered through UberEats. We got both mutton and fish roti canai. We decided fish roti canai was the winner - must try item here. We also ordered the Kari Laska and their number 1 famous Char Kuey Teow to share between 2 of us, but I didn't like it as much as I expected - mainly the seafood was overcooked in both dishes. For drink, we got one hot and one cold Teh Tarik, they were so so good - another must try item! For desert I got the planta sweet roti ( with condense milk) and it was delicious. We ordered to go Nasi Goreng (fried rice ) and Nasi Lemak (coconut rice with fried chicken, egg and fried anchovies) that I forgot to take photos. In my opinion,Nasi Lemak was better. Overall, I was very satisfied with the food here and I was glad I got to try almost every items on the menu. Service was great and food came out pretty quickly. Highly recommend anyone who're visiting London. You will not be disappointed at all.

Came here for lunch. Fast service and friendly staff. The restaurant is clean with a cute vibe. The food was good. The fresh roti with different dipping sauces to order from. We got two noodles, the laksa and megorrang. Both were spicy but it wasn't so bad that it's not tolerable. We also got a rice to try. The chicken wasn't our favorite. The spicy sauce that came with the rice was good. Overall we had a great meal.

As a self-proclaimed Roti Canai addict, I was pumped to try Roti King! Anytime I see it on a menu, it's a must-order. Roti King surprised me with options beyond my usual chicken--beef and fish were also on the menu. I took a leap and tried the fish, though the waitress wasn't sure what kind of fish it was. It turned out tasty, but the curry had this strong, lemony twist that threw me off. Not bad, but I've had better. We couldn't resist dessert and went for the Pisang--a banana mashed into roti. It sounded promising, but honestly, it was just okay. The banana flavor totally took over. Fun to try, but nothing to write home about. All in all, Roti King was an adventure, but I've had more memorable Roti Canai experiences.

We arrived as soon as they opened for dinner but waited in line for one hour to try the food here. As soon as we were seated, we ordered the roti canai and laksa. The food came out pretty fast and was very tasty. I liked the flaky roti and the flavor of the sauce was like thick curry. The laksa was also delicious so I can see the hype but only if you are willing to wait and dine in a small confined space with some very noisy customers.

Amazing. Finally got here for a full (non-solo, non-pre-other-big-meal) meal with a group of four and ordered most of the menu: two dhal roti canais, two chicken roti canais, the spinach & cheese murtabak, the nasi lemak, nasi goreng, char kuey teow, kari laksa, and ayam goreng berempah. The roti itself is the single best thing, no surprise (I think I preferred the dahl over the chicken, but both were great), followed by the laksa, which had the most incredible broth, and the murtabak, which tasted like an incredible quesadilla. The char kuey teow was probably next, and would probably be a re-order candidate next time around. Our table was pretty blown away and we all left extremely happy. This will be a must stop for us on future London trips.

If this was in Penang it would be maybe 3/5 stars. Doesn't hold a candle compared to kapitan mamak restaurant (IYKYK). But this being in London it's a welcomed nostalgic experience. A little on the pricy side but I get it. It's London. I give it an extra star to account for the market it's in. Would recommend, close to the real thing but not quite

The best Malaysian food I've ever had outside of Malaysia! It's a smaller space so there may be a queue but it's worth the wait. For three, we shared three dishes- the Kari Laksa, Nasi Lemak and Beef Rendang (roti canai). Everything was packed with flavor, great portions, and SO delicious. I would order all three dishes again. If you want to order dessert, you'll have to order it when you order the rest of the food so make sure you know what you want!

This hidden gem is WORTH THE WAIT!! We arrived 30 minutes before close, waited in line, and weren't sure if we would get a table in time. We decided to order takeaway, but the host said there was a table for us!! Since it was almost closing time, the service was understandably quick. Our server was nice and double-checked we ordered everything we wanted before stopping orders. We ordered: -Spinach and cheese murtabak: SO OOEY GOOEY with the warm, melty cheese, and it paired well with the dhal kari. -Kari laksa: very flavorful, a bit spicier than I could tolerate, but I kept coming back for a bite of chewy noodles. -Chicken roti canai: I enjoyed using my hands to scoop up the well-cooked chicken with a piece of soft and warm roti! This was my favorite dish!!! -Hot teh tarik: the spices were sooooo delicious, it felt like a hug in a cup We wish we had room for dessert!! I enjoyed the music, the service, and watching the cooks make the roti!!

    Luggage everywhere
    Sam M.

The food was fairly good. Some dishes were too spicy for us. But the place was too cramped, too loud, too hard to get out of our seats. People next to us had to stand up for us to leave our shared table. There was luggage everywhere. It was very claustrophobic.

We started with some yummy cocktails and the okra fries which were delicious - if only okra always tasted this good. For mains, we shared the chicken tikka, black daal, paneer and garlic naan. Pretty standard Indian order. The chicken tikka was just too spicy and we weren't used to that so it went mainly eaten. My favorite was the black daal but again, it wasn't so amazing that I would go and have it again. Honestly the best dish we had was dessert - the basmati kheer is a perfect rice pudding with crème brûlée like topping. So good. Service was spotty, I constantly found myself trying to find our server or make eye contact with him. They were slammed on a Tuesday night (which I'm sure is the case every night) so that's probably just the way things are but it could've been better. Disappointed but willing to try again, also made me want to try some other Indian spots in London next.

I feel like all my friends who've been to London have come back talking about this place, and I'm happy to join their ranks. Dishoom was also one of a handful of dining options recommended by my hotel concierge for a party of 11, including kids. Booking was easy, via SevenRooms, no phone calls or emails necessary. It's a large restaurant, and part of a popular chain--I guess they have things figured out. The space was great, open and casual, exposed ceilings and eclectic decor. Lots of fans, which my three-year-old appreciated. Service was friendly and attentive. I started my lunch with a drink, a refreshing green India Gimlet, gin and Rose's lime with celery bitters and fresh dill. I also tried and liked a sip of the New Permit Room Old-Fashioned, a slightly sweet cocktail with coconut-washed bourbon, Pedo Ximénez sherry, and Medjool date liqueur. There was only one menu available for a party of our size, a pre-set family-style group feast for eight adults, to which we added a pre-ordered platter of lamb chops. I loved the variety of dishes that came with this meal, and every one of them was ridiculously delicious. (There was less available for the three small American children, but they loaded up on hotel breakfast and snacked on naan and colorful puffed crackers.) The first round brought trays loaded with keema pau, okra fries, and bhel, along with lime, cilantro, and sauces for serving. The keema pau was incredible, probably my favorite dish of our lunch, if in part because it was 100% new to me. It was a spicy, aromatic blend of minced lamb and peas with dill and lindi pepper, served with toasted, buttered buns to make little sliders. So much flavor, it almost explained, by itself, why the British could never leave India alone. The okra fries were warm and crispy, and I loved the bhel, a crunchy snack of puffed rice, peanuts, and Bombay Mix tossed with pomegranate, tomato, onion, lime, tamarind, and mint. The main course was another giant spread: chicken ruby, house black daal, awadhi jackfruit biryani, and chilled broccoli salad, plus our charred lamb chops, with sides of roti, naan, and raita. The chicken ruby was the highlight here, a fragrant, comforting curry Chicken Ruby Tender chicken in a rich, silky makhani sauce. A good and proper curry redolent with spice and flavour. ~ House Black Daal (V) A Dishoom signature dish - dark, rich, deeply flavoured. CHARRED LAMB CHOPS 19.90 Two chops of generous proportions lie overnight in raw papaya, yoghurt and humble spices. Blackened on the grill and finished with a thrilling Kashmiri chilli sauce.
