After eating here multiple times & enjoying it, I never thought i'd be writing a 1 star review. I placed an order over the phone & shortly after went to pick it up. When I got home I realized my order was wrong & quickly called back to see if there was a way I could get what I ordered seeing as I didn't want a refund & the food had remained untouched. They graciously accepted my food back & started preparing the correct order or so I thought. Something told me to check before I left but I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt because they were busy at the time & it was close to closing. When I got home my order was still incorrect but I decided to eat it anyways & picked off what I didn't like. The next morning I woke up with horrible stomach pain, not thinking anything of it. I went about my day with this terrible stomach ache, later that night I ended up throwing up which didn't surprise me because of how I was already feeling. The next day I still had stomach pain & decided to go to the doctor, come to find out I had food poisoning. I would not recommend eating here as there are bugs & such flying around & they don't keep the place clean. read more

The Philly cheesesteak is the best I can find in Baton Rouge. Love the crispy seasoned fries. I love hole-in-the-wall dives and rarely criticize the cleanliness if the food is so good I can ignore it, but if Roul took a little more pride this place would be amazing. You can tell when an owner just milks a place and doesn't reinvest in the customer experience. It would also be nice if they served brewed ice tea instead of all carbonated drinks. Best time to go is usually on a Monday or Wednesday for a great burger and fries combo (it's cheaper on these days). It's a small place, and there's usually always someone eating here when I go. It's affordable and close by if you live on or near campus, like by North Gate apartments. read more

The food was alright. Service was terrible. When i walked in, there were no other customers so i went straight up to the register to order. I made eye contact with the lady working who proceeded to look back at her phone and ignore me standing 5 feet away. After about 30 awkward seconds I say "hello" and she responds back "hi." After another pause i say "im ready to order" and she walks up and takes my order and payment without a word. My husband loved his burger and loved my shrimp po-boy. However, I felt a little dirty dining in. I would have rather gotten it as take out.

My 1st visit was LSU Homecoming 2014. It was a quick in and out to go order so, I didn't really look around the place. Too busy in my phone. Anyway, the shrimp burger was great when I got home and I'd been dying to go back upon my 2nd visit. Oh how I wish I'd stayed home. That place is filthy. The corner by the soda machine is disgusting and smelled of mildew or a closed in basement. I watched the female cook my food so, which is the only reason I still took it. As I ate it, I threw up. The best, if not the cleanest, burger in town. It makes them fresh (so we think), probably with a "blend" of his "own" spices. Roul's is a staple of the LSU Experience. Known for the best Cheesesteaks in town, his small but delicious selection will have you craving for more! I agree with Terrence that it's not the best looking joint, but that adds to the feeling. My personal fav is the Cheesesteak with Shrimp (BIG A** Shrimp at that). Food was good but the service was horrible. She didnt seem to care that our food came out wrong and partially burnt. It kind of amazes me that the burger was still good. My boyfriend used to eat here 10 years ago while attending LSU and he said they were always amazing and juicy. This place use to be my go to when I wanted a homemade burger. However things have changed. I ordered to go today and it was hard to hear them on the phone. When I asked for the shrimp burger they said they were out of shrimp (this has happened before) so I chose a cheese burger. The people who work there is not as pleasant as those who previously worked there. (I've been going for the past five years) Before we really confirmed that they received the order or even how long it will take, they hung up. I went to pick up the food and asked for bacon since it will being made and I told them about the phone call. All they said was that they can hear the people on the phone but the other end can't hear well. Once I got the burger, the bun was a little hard, not enough cheese and they use turkey bacon. Nonetheless it was ok but not as juicy as they claim to be. I just hope this was just an off day. read more
