Wow! Wow! Wow! Order at the window and wait for a few minutes. Super simple and fast! Do yourself a favor and buy a box of 12! You won't regret it and you'll make whomever you're sharing it with super happy like when I shared it with my family! The donuts itself are fluffy, light, and crisp from being perfectly iced! My favorites were the Original Glazed Donut since it's not to sweet (must be the orange glaze magic!), Maple Iced (Man! My fav forever always go to is a maple donut so if you want to be friends, you can buy me one hahaha), and the Blueberry. I heard no complaints at all about the Chocolate Iced from my nephews or the Strawberry Iced from my donut expert niece! Oddly enough, I don't care much for their donuts. However, a few years ago I stumbled upon their strawberry cupcakes--HOLY COW they are good. Soooo moist. I've very particular about cakes as they are usually too dry for my taste. I crave these cupcakes all the time, best I've ever had. For my son's birthday, we ordered an Oreo cake per his request. Perfectly rich and delicious. Decently priced and it served 15 people. One of the best cakes I've had. You have to order at least 24 hours in advance. Pick up was a breeze. I do wish they still had their selection of cupcakes available for pickup in boxes of 4. They only sell them by the dozen now and you have to order ahead. Sometimes I just want to drop by for one strawberry cupcake and not a dozen. Aside from that, I HIGhLY recommend the cakes and cupcakes!! read more

We picked up Round Rock Donuts for our teachers in south Austin yesterday. One of our donut holes was uncooked dough! Yuck! I love Round Rock donuts. Hands down the best donuts! How did a dough ball make it in our order? It was clearly a different color. I hope this doesn't happen often. A child might eat this raw and could get sick. read more

Round rock donuts has always been my favorite donut place in town. It used to have a inside where u could order at the counter however this recent visit (I don't go often) it was changed to outdoor window service only, which is fine just different. The staff places our frosted donut on the bottom with the frosting upside down so when we took it out the frosting was in the bag. The didn't ask if we wanted them warmed up either which I thought was weird but I didn't even think about it until I bit into the cold donut. Flavor is of course still great however service was definitely lacking and they were not that busy when we went either. If u haven't been I would definitely give them a try! read more

Everytime I ask people what donut spots do I need to visit? Round Rock donuts is almost always on that list. You can do a drive thru or you can order at the outside walk up window. You can look at which donuts you want through the glass. I got the giant Texas donut. Got it half and half with glaze and chocolate. They are known for their glazed donuts here. The inside of the donut has a orange coloring. It has a nice crisp outside with a soft middle. The glaze is amazing and just the right sweetness. A must try for any glaze donut fan. they do a phenomenal job here at Round Rock Donuts. read more

The two amazing individuals supporting the drive thru gave me their suggestions and MAN! They did not disappoint! All of the donuts (and cinnamon roll) we got were delicious and perfectly made. It's such a gem and staple in the Austin/Round Rock area, rightfully so! Their glazed donuts are a classic and "chef's kiss" - the recipe is perfect, they're so airy and a perfect size! You can order drive thru or walk up and order outside. There were long lines today but we got our order right away! Of course we got their classic glazed donuts but also tried their pumpkin cream cheese cake donut (it was too much spice for me and a bit thick - wouldn't get again) We also got jalapeño cheese and regular kolaches and they were delicious too. First time visiting this joint. While on vacation we heard of this donut place and wanted to try it out. They would have received a 5 star but they nest up on two of our donuts. Haven't eaten here in probably a decade or more, but my mouth watered as soon as I saw the eatery. Mom and I were in downtown Round Rock walking around rather leisurely. We quickly purchased a half dozen, and they were fresh and hot...yum! Of course there was a line of people both ordering and waiting for their product. Thankfully, the staff were incredible in getting out the orders. There was an air of anticipation waiting for such a delicious delicacy. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained. The worst pastries. Blueberry donut was nothing to brag about. Chocolate eclair the icing was grainy with the sugar. The apple fritter was mushy and had two tiny pieces of apple in it. The worst of all was the cinnamon roll. Hardly any Cinnamon. It was like a thick piece of bread. Then topped with peanuts of all things. I took one bite and threw it out. It was like peanut butter on a cinnamon roll. Pecans or walnuts are what belong on a cinnamon roll. It was like amature baking goods. Really peanuts on a cinnamon roll? I read a review stating RRD was the best in the state! That's a tall order in Texas. I had to go try. Frosted yellow spongy donut - very good. Bavarian custard - very good. Jalapeño sausage kolache - very good. Blueberry glazed cake donut - very good. There was a line, but it went pretty fast, 10 minutes on Saturday @11. All in all a great place! read more

This place has been featured on all kinds of Texas food lists, and for good reason. They have a good selection of traditional donuts (and a few kolaches). You can also get various coffee drinks. But, you come here for their Texas sized donut - at $10 for either the regular glazed or frosted chocolate, you really can't go wrong. It's surprisingly really good. The dough is dense but not in a bad way. The glaze and chocolate frosting are really sweet but tasty. It's a great deal for the size and photo op. It's in the town's restored downtown area - they don't have seating, so if it's a hot day be sure to have a car plan or take the donut home. Walk up service has two windows to order - moves relatively quickly even on busy days. Parking is limited. Drive through is crowded but moves quickly. read more

I hate writing negative reviews and I guess I was looking for something else in these donuts or we got there on a bad day, but Hubby and I didn't care for these donuts. We got in line because the drive thru and outside line were long at around 2 pm on a Friday. We got regular cake dipped in chocolate, yeast dipped in chocolate, regular yeast and Bavarian cream donuts. I tried the chocolate dipped cake since it's my favorite. It taste like sugar. Also, cake donuts are usually heavy but this was really light. My hubby said the regular was ok but the Bavarian cream didn't taste like what he was used to either. The donuts here are so so good and I honestly am not sure why. There's drive thru as well but pretty much you just place your order at the window either by physically going up or staying in your car, then you pick up your order. If there's one experience that all newcomers to Austin share, it's that everyone tells you to try Round Rock Donuts. I'm happy to announce that I will be continuing that tradition. TRY IT Y'ALL! The donuts are amazingly light, fluffy and sweet at less than a dollar each. The icing goes so well with the glazed donuts, very unlike the artificial icing that tops the common grocery store pastry. Additionally, here you will learn what "Texas-sized" truly means. I ordered two Texas-sized baked cinnamon rolls, not expecting they would be able to feed my family for two days. Not only that, the peanuts in the cinnamon rolls elevated them to a whole new level. Because of its popularity, however, the wait at RR Donuts can also be Texas-sized. There was about a 40 minute wait across getting in line to order and receiving my order. Granted, this was a Sunday afternoon, so future visits will likely be earlier in the morning. They've definitely taken steps to make their process more efficient, which I and other patrons greatly appreciate. Best Donuts ever! I was introduced to RRD at church in the late 80s when I first came to live in Texas. I now live in Liberty Hill, so I am elated that they now have a location in Cedar Park where I do most of my shopping. The variety is as you might expect, but the Simple Glazed or Chocolate Iced are to die for, and both literally melt in your mouth. I also really love the Bavarian Cream filled. The first time my son visited from the central east coast, after Brisket at The Salt Lick, we visited the Longhorn Bakery in RR, and he got the giant, forgive me, toilet seat sized Glazed Donut and it has become a tradition for him now on every visit. It's the bomb. Give them a try. You won't regret it. read more

You can never go wrong with a RR donut. This place has been around for years and every time I've come, donuts taste the same, staff is great, and the lines move quicker than you'd expect. Yes, they're always busy, especially in the mornings, but these donuts are worth the wait. Seriously. This time we just ordered a few regular glaze and one maple covered. The way these donuts melt in your mouth and are so fluffy, you won't find anything like em somewhere else. Historically, we've paid around $135 for the same style of birthday cake. This year, we were quoted $235 for essentially the same cake--a price increase of more than 70%. While I completely understand that costs have gone up and businesses have had to adjust pricing due to inflation and increased vendor costs, this level of increase feels excessive, especially for a child's birthday cake. I reached out to Diane, the owner, to better understand the significant jump in pricing. After about a week, I received a response stating that their vendors' prices had increased. While I appreciate the explanation, it doesn't change the fact that a more than 70% increase is difficult for many families to justify. This review isn't meant to criticize the quality of their work, which has always been excellent. Rather, it's to share the experience of a long-time customer who has unfortunately been priced out after years of supporting the business. It's disappointing to have to look elsewhere after so many years, but at the current pricing, we simply can't justify the cost.

They just melt in your mouth. Bakery items here are excellent! Donuts and Kolaches are made fresh and are delicious. The golden donuts are delicious. You can chew them a little bit while they are melting in your mouth! I can't describe the delectable breakfast/lunch/dinner/dessert that is a Round Rock donut. I decided to give this place a try based on all the great reviews. They seem to be very popular when I got there they were very busy. Unfortunately I am very disappointed with what I got. I had the Bavarian cream éclair and donut holes. The donut holes were OK not much different than others I've had. The éclair is another story. I expected more filling but there was only a thin layer of cream. Imagine the éclair cut in half lengthwise and you have a layer of cream in the middle of that half. Fortunately you only get so little filling because the filling is horrible. There isn't enough vanilla flavor and it is thick (not in a good way) like glue. Before my first trip to Round Rock Donuts, I had a cold donut at the airport and was unimpressed. I didn't understand what all the fuss was about. Once I visited the Round Rock location, I got it. These donuts are so good!! Five stars for the awesome, incredible regular glazed donuts. And five stars for the regular donut holes! And yay for the drive through! It is well known that Round Rock Donuts is the best donuts our State has to offer. I've traveled Texas extensively with donuts being my breakfast food of choice. They maintain their reputation. At peak times it can take a bit to get your order. At 8:30 am on a Sunday with a ton of people there it took less than 5 minutes to get a dozen mixed. The donuts are rich and filling. Sweet, but not super sweet. They want you to taste the donuts and the glaze so there's a balance they have perfected. They are open most of the day so if you're in the area stop in. It's worth it. Addicting, i have an uncle who would have us send him round rock donuts to the military Base in Japan to get his fix ! Another family member of mine will drive all the way from fort worth to round rock just for these donuts. Worst part about it is now with the road construction in downtown you have not choice but to drive right by the lonestar bakery , who in there right mind and self control wont stop and get donuts now . I don't understand the people with negative reviews about Round Rock donuts! This place is the bomb.com, the bomb diggity and whatever other bombs there are. The chocolate covered donuts are my fave along with the Jalapeno cheese sausage kolache. I wouldn't say there is hype about this place when it's proven over and over again with every satisfied customer. Wow!!!! I don't eat any other donuts. Round Rock Donuts are so delicious. I was shocked to see the Texas size glazed donut. It was literally the same size as my head. It always seems to be busy but the line goes pretty fast. The employees know how to get people through. They have a great variety of donuts, muffins, cakes, etc. I saw them on the food channel and had to check it out. We get a cake from these guys once a month for the people who have birthdays for the month and OOOOOOHHH my goodness....they are wonderful. Oh man I give props to the spice cake, strawberry cake, chocolate & German chocolate cake, the white cake, red velvet cake.....they EVEN have a cookie cake which is sooo mouthwatering good. OMG!!! Most delicious doughnut ever. I love, love, love Round Rock Donuts. I first went after I saw them featured on Man VS Food. The only reason they are not getting five stars is because of the impossibly long lines that manifest, especially on the weekends. If they ever iron that out then I will revise my review. However, don't let anything stop you from trying them out if you haven't already. The line is long but moves quickly they have kids taking orders on Tablets. If you aren't local here's a tip. Don't wait at the stop sign trying to cut in line or come from the North side and try to signal in. This is Texas someone will eventually let you in BUT they'll want to punch you in the mouth for being an idiot. Go to the back of the line and wait your turn. California rules don't apply here. For goodness sake, this is so great I almost don't know how to express it! Part of the charm is knowing this business since it was much smaller, then had to get rebuilt from scratch following a fire. The 'new' building is a beautiful Texas limestone destination spot, although too small for a lot of guests to actually sit in the immensely popular venue. I am a donut lover, and Round Rock donuts are in my top two! I've never had RR donuts until moving tot his area, but now I can't get enough of that yummy yellow glaze. The key is to eat them warm! If you can't try them fresh from the Round Rock location, just pop it in the microwave for a few seconds and then let it melt in your mouth. Recommended highly, we made a point to stop here on our way to Dallas from San Antonio. We arrived just before 6am and found ourselves seventh in line for the drive thru. We ordered a plain glaze, chocolate glazed and a jalapeno and cheese sausage kolache. Ranking from best, the kolache was definitely the best. The sausage was excellent, with a great bite, substantial meatiness, and just right spiciness. The plain glaze was very good, still warm and a nice chew. You can't go wrong with donuts, but when you tell yourself you can only have one, this is where you need to go! That one donut you end up getting may be the equivalent of a dozen donuts!!! But its still just one donut, right? Round rock donuts has a signature orange glaze on their donuts and that makes them stand out. So does that gargantuan behemoth donut. What brought me here initially was MAN VS FOOD. I had to come here after watching that episode. I went there and wow.. the donuts are actually pretty good. It's been a while since I've had one from them but I'd totally go there and get that huge donut again. It's really soft and delicious. Did i tell IT'S HUGE?!?! Super sweet lady that has been with the company for a very long time. As for my take on the Donuts or Doughnuts, these are definitely doughnuts to me because the dough was very light and fluffy with a very subtle sweet glaze. Just like most doughnuts, you have to eat it fresh or they lose their softness, fluffiness and sweetness. Day old doughnuts just do not taste the same, and Round Rock Donuts also do-nut hold their freshness the next day. I argue that Krispy Kreme are the only donuts I have ever had that are still soft the day after. I'm sure there are those who will disagree with me. Since we got it fresh, I'll rate the glazed donut a 7/10. If given a box of fresh round rock donuts, I will not say no thank you, but Thank you very much.

You can ask for the donut to not have the drizzled icing on top too because I find it just a little too sweet for my taste when the icing is on top. These are only seasonal and offered during summertime, which is the only negative thing I can say about it. Wish they were a new daily menu item. The (older, slim, blonde hair, blue eyes) who took our payment and handed us our order is the nicest and sweetest lady I have ever come across. I absolutely love being greeted by her when I come through the drive-thru.

They refunded me $15 to account for the difference, and I felt pressured to accept since I needed something for the dinner that night. Unfortunately, the situation got worse from there. When we cut into the cake, it turned out to be confetti--not chocolate. Then, when we tried to eat it, it was clearly stale, dry, and inedible. No one touched it after the first bites. It completely missed the mark for what was supposed to be a special moment. What's especially frustrating is that I ordered from them last year for the same occasion, and everything went perfectly--that's why I trusted them again. This time, however, it was a complete letdown from start to finish. When I called the next day to request a refund, I asked to speak with a manager but was told that wasn't possible. Instead, I was told I would only be offered a partial refund because I accepted the replacement cake.
