Decided to do the touristy thing and went to round rock donuts. It was about 8:30 in the morning on a Sunday, as I drove up I could see throngs of people already standing outside and a line of cars is going around the block. As I whispered to myself, WTF and was filled with dread why why do I decide to do these things lol. I drove about two blocks away and circled back, the parking in Austin and the surrounding area is confusing to me. I saw a spot in between some other cars and decided to go for it. Let's take the chance, it was down the block from the donut shop as I left my vehicle. I saw a woman crossing the street and I stopped her to ask her about the line of cars And the people standing around. That's how I learned that the cars all lined up were for the drive-through, the people standing around are to order at the window as we walked out, and of course I was talking a mile a minute because I had two giant cups of coffee before I left the hotel that morning. It turns out the walk up window was not that busy. It was just a bunch of people waiting for their orders that made it seem like there were so many more people than they actually was. Abby, my new friend kindly let me go before her because her order was going to be much larger than mine. I was in panic mode. What donuts will I pick? I went with two simple classics, glazed, and a cinnamon twist kind of like a Krueller style. My order came out a few minutes later and I left my new friend so I can go about my day and she could travel on to work. Thanks for keeping me company. Abby I appreciate it (and listening to me ramble like a maniac) so far, I have eaten the glazed donut and it is by far the best glazed donut I have ever had in my life, the lightness of it. I am upset. I only got one. I am curious why the glaze left like a yellow Tinge on the wax paper is glazed with butter? I have questions I might go back. I might definitely go back. read more

My husband and I went on a Saturday morning and were intimidated when we saw the drive thru line wrap around the corner street. The line at the walk up window was long as well but we were committed because we wanted to grab some goodies for our friends. I would say the lines move fairly quickly and the wait to get your order was even shorter! Also I didn't expect the donuts to be very affordable at about $12 a dozen. I've been wanting to try Round Rock Donuts ever since I saw them on the Travel Channel show Man vs Food back in the late 2000s. I watched Adam Richman eating a donut bigger than his head. I made a trip here from Austin on an overcast and foggy day. I went up to the window and looked at the selection to figure out what I wanted. Since it was my first time there, I played it safe by ordering just 4 donuts, a plain cake, glazed, chocolate glazed and a Bavarian cream. The lady at the window was super friendly and I told her it was my first time there. She told me their glazed donuts are served warm. I would've ordered that humongous donut Adam ate on the show but I didn't. My total came out to just $5 and some change. Minutes later my donuts were ready and I went to snap a picture of the Round Rock water tower then went back to my car to eat a couple of them. The plain cake donut was good. Then I ate the original glazed one which was served warm. It was the best glazed donut I've ever had. Krispy Kreme and Dunkin Donuts overrated and corporate donuts couldn't come anywhere close. It was too sweet and grant it, probably because of the maple flavor, but just tasting the donut itself, it wasn't giving anything on it's own. I tried Round Rock Donuts for the first time on 01/01/2025 on our drive from San Antonio to Fort Worth after a recommendation that someone gave me within the past year. I don't remember who it was. We arrived at about 12noon, and found parking on the street and then joined the queue at one of the two windows. There were tons of people at this location, including at the drive thru; however, we opted to stand in line. The lines move relatively fast, and I would say I waited about 10 minutes in line; however, then only about 2 minutes for my donuts. After you place your order, you stand to the side, and they will bring your Donuts out and call your name. We tried several including four fruit kolaches, the original warm glazed, strawberry frosted, chocolate frosted and many more. We did attempt to order the Jalapeno and Cheese Kolache and an Apple Fritter; however, those two were sold out. Overall, we loved the taste of these donuts and certainly would return here again in the future. I also wanted to state that the prices here are really reasonable, and I appreciate that. Good donuts and good service what else do you need to know! Two locations that I know of and both equally as busy at times. Round rock drive through could be a little confusing if you're not from the area and it's busy. You could also park and walk up to the window's to place your order. My go-to's are the maple and glaze but the bavarian cream was also good. Next time around I might try the donut holes. Prices are fair and even if it's busy you'll be in and out fairly quickly. My happy place! My little one loves this place. I like to visit on Saturday mornings however be warned the drive thru and order window gets packed! I am talking the drive thru line starts back on Mays street. If you come early in the morning you are good to go. One of my most recent visits really stood out to me since the workers here are very friendly and down to earth. Even the customers here are cool! A gentleman got out of the long drive thru line and decided to cut in front me. Of course we are in the car so all I can do is honk. The customers in front of me reported the incident to the employees and they immediately apologized for him cutting in front. I wasn't worried about him cutting in front of just me, but there were other cars behind me that were waiting. It wasn't fair to them. I appreciated the employee for letting him know not to cut in front of people and for the customer to notify the employees. Definitely makes coming here better knowing that people care. read more
