The pizza is solid. I got the biggest size (18") and got it half meat lover's and half bacon chicken ranch. It's nice that you can get 2 different types of pizza when getting a big pie. The $30 price tag is average for a 18" pizza. I also ordered the fried zucchini for $6.99 that was solid. It was fried well and tasted good. The food is solid. The 2 minor complaints I have is the bacon chicken ranch pizza didn't have too much bacon on it and they charge $0.95 for ranch. I like getting ranch with my pizza, and it'd be nice to get 1-2 ranches for free when ordering the largest pizza. This isn't a sit down place where you're served, so I don't expect the service to be top notch. However, after finishing the pizza, I took the pie box with all the trash in it to the trashcan and realized that it doesn't really fit well since the box is so big. I took the box to an employee and asked if they have a bigger trash can and he just said "no" and "sorry". He didn't take the trash or tell me to leave it anywhere so I took it myself to the trashcan and bent the box in half so it'd fit in the trashcan. I will note last time I was here they did take the box with the trash, so it's not always like that. Overall not a bad place if you want to get quick pizza without breaking the bank. read more

My husband and I have come here a few times now. It's a solid place to get some good pizza. This time we ordered online and ate at the restaurant. My husband signed up for their rewards so we got $5 off our order. Our pizza was ready by the time we got there and we were able to take it to the back tables to eat. Typically you order at the front and the servers bring out your food to you. They have a soda fountain and napkins and cheese/pepper flakes on the tables or available to grab so it's mostly self serve. You also buss your dishes when you're done. There are a handful of tables and booths in the back room to sit at, however they can be a be a bit dirty and a little wobbly. My husband and I got the supreme pizza which came with pepperoni, Italian sausage, ground beef, onions, peppers, mushrooms, and olives. It was covered with toppings which I love but made it a little hard to eat as the bottom was a little soggy. I really liked the ground beef which I don't see too much on pizzas and I loved how it was covered in olives (although my husband who is not an olive fan would disagree). Unfortunately if you want a sauce like ranch for your pizza it costs extra but other than that I really like their pizzas. We were in Poway running some errands and decided to pick up a pizza to take home on Friday night for dinner. We had ordered from here before but it has been several years. Looking for a pizza by the slice spot, and found this little take out in Poway by Walgreens. Positive: Monday special - BOGO slices, so great price. Quick service too. Here's the reason for the 3 stars: only 3 selections for the slices. Although the guy was willing to make the cheese slice a "Hawaiian", it wasn't heated thoroughly so the ham and pineapple tasted undercooked and just tossed on as after thought, which I guess it was. It did have other Italian pasta dishes but based on the pizzas, not confident that I would return. I will never come here again after what happened today, the employees that they hire here shows how much they don't care about the food, the customers and everything else. My husband told him AGAIN that it's for a birthday reward and the email and text shows that it's for free with no purchase necessary. Then he went on asking for my phone number to look up my past orders to see if I even have ordered from there before , which he finally sees we have then that's when he gives us the nasty old cannolis. We've had Bongiorno's twice and both times were very delicious. We have both times gotten the Margherita and a meat lovers pizza. The slices are huge and hearty and to be honest, their Margherita pizza is the very best I have had. I dinged them one star because of how messy the eating area and the self-serve soda area were. It was just so messy, and the trash was overflowing. I think that if we had eaten it to-go and I hadn't seen that mess I would have probably rated them the full 5 stars. It's not that the staff wasn't polite, kind, and professional... It was just truly messy and sticky and not very appealing. My wife and I were looking for a new pizza spot to get some food for the Super Bowl. We drive by this place all the time and never stopped by until the Super Bowl. We ordered a large pizza: half Chicken, Bacon, Ranch and half cheese and pepperoni. Both my wife and I LOVED the pizza. Not too often you eat a slice and take a step back, look at the slice you just bit in to, then devour the rest of it. Not too many toppings or too much sauce and the flavor was ON POINT. The crust was the perfect thickness and cooked perfectly. I was pleasantly surprised how good the pizza was. We also ordered the garlic knots. The knots were good but the marinara sauce was REALLY good. I caught myself dipping my pizza crust in the sauce because it was so good. Can't wait to go back and try other things. The ambiance is simple and low key. Nothing overly special but it was a clean restaurant. You order when you walk into the restaurant, and then find a table while you wait, if you're dining in. The service was good. They just bring out the pizza to you, and get it on the table. You can get your own soda. Now then, I am saving my description of the food for last: This was one of the better pizzas I've had while in California. The crust was the perfect thickness. Some places go a little too thin, or too much, but the pie I had was perfect. It had the right chew & taste of a NY pie. It was right on the money for the ability to fold it and not fall apart with the toppings on it. As for the toppings, it was a nice balance. There was a good amount, not a great amount of meat, but it was well balanced. Every bite had meat on it. The sauce was good, not overly acidic or sweet.. just good flavor. Their New York style thin crust is to die for!! The bottom of the pizza is crispy, not soggy or saggy, and the chew on the crust is any carb-lover's dream. We ordered the New Yorker Pizza (pepperoni, mushrooms, red onions, sun dried tomatoes on a roasted garlic sauce) and added artichokes. The slices are huge and toppings are generous. I'm not usually a fan of thin crust NY style pizza but their pizzas are great. Review for take out - Got a 1/2 Pesto 1/2 New Yorker and both were flavourful. The pesto would be great with added chicken. The wings are a good size and both buffalo and Mango habanero were flavourful. They also have a selection of by the slice pizza where ive tried both the pepperoni and the meat lovers and they were excellent. However as is with all pizza, this stuff is best eaten piping hot as it's just made or just heated up. The crust for the pepperoni and meat lovers seemed thinner than the half and half I got bit that's probably just due to the nature of the toppings. Both were great though. read more
