Once we were seated, we decided to check out their lunch menu. Our server, Alexis, was very nice and helpful. My husband decided to have Dan's Caprese Sandwich, and I chose a slice of pizza (three toppings were pepperoni, mushrooms, and olives) with a salad. While we waited for our food, we noticed all the employees were busy at work, but also taking time to greet customers and get to know everyone. My pizza and salad came, yet my husband's food was not done. I shared my salad with him and then waited for his food. Our server did come over and apologize for the delay in his food and explained the situation. Once his sandwich came out, we were ready to eat. He loved his sandwich and said he thinks a burger would go great with similar items. My pizza was good and filling. Alexis was so pleasant and nice to talk to, the restaurant was clean, and the food was good. We will definitely continue to go to this location.

Instead of using pesto aïoli on one side of the focaccia bread, the chef substituted extra white mayonnaise with garlic in it on both sides of the bread. The chef omitted the delicious balsamic glaze, it simply was not present. The chef used basil leaves that were days old, the little tomato was placed between two huge slices of mozzarella. Another small tomato placed under the other huge slice of cheese. I want to say, I noticed one manager type woman with glasses trying to handle & seat the incoming parties, she took my order immediately at the register, I waited 16 minutes for a sandwich that was prepared just however, with key ingredients left out, the customer was not even asked if they minded, customer was left to find out later at home, terrible service, shame on you Vacaville Mary's Pizza Shack. Not fair to give the consumer a delicious sandwich weeks ago, and then switch it up weeks later when a different person makes it , and no manager is in control of the food prep and quality. Then leaving ingredients off without any communication to the customer who wanted this delicious sandwich that you and your staff completed messed up!

I will say this though, when my wife and I walked into this restaurant we already had the expectations that the food was going to be good. After a few minutes the best bread and marinara sauce came to our table and let me tell you that the bite wasn't just delicious it became a memory taking me back to the times when I used to eat this type of delicious food at my Grandparents' house. I knew right then this was going to be the Italian place that we would continue to visit every time we came to Vacaville. We both ordered the Raviolis and while we ate our bread and the marinara sauce, another order of bread came out but this time it was with our entrees. Damn it was delicious! We got all four pizzas they were offering - pepperoni, 4 cheese balsamic, orchard harvest, and a pesto one. All of the pizzas were good, but the 4 cheese balsamic and harvest orchard were crazy good. I especially love that the crust was crispy, but not at all burnt - a problem I often see with pizza trucks/carts. Service was also great. They accidentally gave us a wrong pizza, and told us to keep it while they made us the correct one for free. 4 people, and we ate all 5 pies without a problem. I only wish they had a regular storefront so I could know how to get my fix whenever I'm in the area.

I would suggest keeping your establishment clean at all times and food covered.
