I brought my wedding dress in here to have the length altered and to add a bustle. Maybe I was too naive and trusting, but I gave her permission to do the bustle as she pleased since I trusted her expertise. She quoted me $350 which was an amazing price! My qualm, however, is with the quality of the alterations I received. She did an American bustle on my dress, which just made me look like I had a diaper on. When I brought up my concerns, she just brushed them off. I had to bring my dress to another seamstress to re-do the bustle, where I also found out that the bottom seam of the dress was entirely uneven. I am receiving a $50 refund for the failed bustle but when I brought up the uneven length to her, she completely dismissed my concerns and hung up the phone on me. So now I'm stuck paying an additional $400 to get the SAME, EXACT alterations at a different location. Some of it was ignorable or blended in enough to ignore, but specifically a belted area around the waist ended up noticeably sloppy and wider than I wanted. They made a bunch of excuses and shooed me out the door. I couldn't even look at the dress without being mad - not a great wedding day vibe. Armeene came to my rescue with only two weeks left until the wedding! She was clear with me that it would be difficult to pull off - the dress was constructed in a way that made the customization difficult (why did the dress shop even promise it?? Ugh). Not only did she and her assistant understand exactly what I wanted and pull it off nearly perfectly, they did it in only two days for a price that I found to be more than fair!!
