Night started great and ended even better!! Our server (Karen) was amazing. She made sure we were well taken care of. Boy friend got the fresco melt, which is one of my favorites, and I had the lemon pepper chicken. I asked the server to pick her favorite because I couldn't choose if I wanted the Italian sausage Parmesan or the lemon pepper chicken and she didn't disappoint. Now normally I never order off of the dessert menu but my meal was so light and refreshing that I thought why not! I got the peanut butter cream pie and it was the best choice of the whole meal! If I had to nit pick a little I would recommend to put more lemon pepper on the chicken just to give it a little extra flavor. All in all it was a great experience. I have been here several times since we moved here only because of convenience isn't 5 star but experience wasn't terrible.However they have serious issues when it comes to the serving temperature of there food. Every cook worth their salt knows that you cannot microwave bread or eggs they however must be rookies because they do both and it's disgusting. So breakfast DO NOT DO it especially if they are semi busy!! Only if you don't care about your food being hot or that they do not know how to react to a customer who is not pleased but polite. No manager reacted until I was checking out and the only comment was well they were going to cook it over for you......Now let's think about that what that says to me is if you don't mind paying for crap we will serve it to you if we can get away with it....Anyway all it did for them today is cost them customers and their displeased very apparent waitress a tip and I am a great tipper always 20%or more. read more

My husband and I are often found in this restaurant and have never had a bad meal there. I am not sure just what those who found the floors dirty were looking at, we have been there "between hours" and the floors are being cleaned whenever it is slow. The bathrooms are cleaned often also. We both feel that the meals that are offered are reasonable and the servings are plentiful. Any time we are at any other restaurant, we find outselves comparing it to Round the Clock. Most do not measure up. read more

Unfortunately racism and prejudice people still exist. My family came in town to surprise me as a late birthday girft. Yesterday evening me and my boyfriend went to their hotel in Laporte, Indiana. The woman at the front desk (black/mixed) at the hotel recommend 'Round the Clock' restaurant. The hostess was very nice and greeted us with a great big smile. However, as soon as we sat with our server Tianya we didnt get that great greeting and smile. We all figured it was a bad day for her. On the other hand, when a non-black table sat right next to us, her mood and facial expressions change completely. Changed so much that she tossed napkins down on the table with her back turned away from us. Furthermore, to make our experience even better, the manager David came out and greeted every single table except ours. He even sat down and had a conversation with the table next to us and gave free food to them. To top everything off, our food was cold coming out, we had to ask another server for service, our drinks wasnt refilled. Tianya even put her fingers in our cups as she took them away after we didnt want them anymore. She was very rude to my grandmother and my mother particularly throughout the dining experience. The list goes on. My point is!!! For everyone who are too blind to see such racism and prejudice things happen to BLACK FAMILIES still, here you go. My grandmother still experience it, my mother, aunt, ME and my boyfriend. Four generation of us, and we still have to experience this. I will never spend my money at this place again or anything like it. Not all non-blavk are like this. Just like not all cops or bad and are killers. I rather stay away from bad and negative people. This place used to be a great local family owned restaurant but it's really gone downhill the past few years. My grandma ate there with her sisters every Saturday morning and my wife and I decided to join them one day. I received the standard water they give everyone and it took them over an hour to refill it, take our order, or even check on us. After ordering bacon and eggs, which took another hour, the food showed up almost ice cold. I complained but I was so frustrated with their slow service I told them I didn't want them to remake it and I also would not be paying for it. They brought out the manager or owner or whoever and he offered to DISCOUNT my bill but not remove my cold inedible slop. I flat out refused to pay the bill and none of us have returned since. Way to lose long time customers. My advice is avoid this scam shop and eat at Louie's on Lincolnway. read more

Being from Chicago where most restaurants take pride in the quality of their food, we have a hard time finding a decent restaurant in LaPorte. After not visiting this restaurant in many years, we decided to give it a go. After visiting two times w/in a six month period, we've decided to clear this one from our list. My fiance had the chicken and dumplings. I had the Greek plate. The chicken and dumpling sauce was like wallpaper paste, too thick and tasteless!. My fiance mentioned it to the girl while paying the bill. They didn't seem to care. My Greek plate was horrible as well. The gyro meat tasted like it was on the spit for days. It was so dry that I had a hard time swallowing it without water. Horrible meals. That was the last time we'll ever go to Round the Clock. I guess we'll just have to save our Mexican food appetite and go to Mucho Mas when we are in LaPorte. They seem to be the only decent place there. read more

I have been coming here for a long time and usually the kids and I love it. Today it was not good! The floor was dirty, my server seemed overwhelmed and in the weeds, my Rueben was missing the 1000 island dressing and was cold. My daughters pancakes were cold. :( so disappointed! read more

I try to be objective about these things but sometimes the facts are so blatant that the comments seem one sided. Such is the case here. I hadn't visited Round The Clock in several years. It was a very cold, snowy, blustery evening and we were looking forward to a wholesome "comfort food" style meal. We were seated promptly and our waitress was polite and attentive. We placed our order and had specifically asked for certain side dishes only to be informed that those sides were not available to us. For us it wasn't a matter of cost or substitution, it was just what we wanted. I was ready to just leave at that point but my girlfriend with her insightful wisdom convinced me to stay and give it a try. Generally I have to say that the entree was acceptable, but not remarkable. The desert was supposed to be a fluffed creme Neapolitan and was so hard (not frozen just stale) that I actually bent my fork trying to eat it. I demonstrated this for my waitress who promptly took it away and took the item off our bill. The big issue was the indifference of the manager who avoided our table completely. He spent a good portion of our meal sitting across from us boasting to some others in a different booth about some ring purchase he had made and how much he had spent.. It didn't add to the already dull ambiance. When we were getting ready to leave and pay our bill, no mention of our dining issues was made, no apology, just a good ole boy chuckle as he robbed our money from us. Last time we ate at RTC my husbands BLT had a bite taken out of it. You could actually see the remnants from teeth marks. Husband called waitress and waitress called manager. The manager actually argued with husband. Offered to send back the BLT and have a new one made. Husband declined and said just charge him for the soup and fries. Manager NEVER apologized. Also if I remember correctly. We have seen RTC management shopping at Aldi's with gallons upon gallons of milk, butter, ketchup etc in the carts. Please quit seating people closer to the back room where the smoking used to be- it's seriously the worst spot. I'm guessing a ton of money was spent on making this restaurant look like you're dining in a train car, but no one ever gets seated in the two-seated section that's decorated the neatest. Recently went here and sure enough, was walked right past the train car booths, and bigger booths, right into the back room. The food is classic diner food- nothing fancy. The customer service was on point! We were seated under an a/c vent and asked to be relocated, the waitress just said she would turn it off since we were already settled in. I have been going here for years and today was my first bad experience. I ordered a omelet and it had no cheese on it. Had a coffee never was offered a refill. Had to wait a while to get my bill. I never had a omelet without cheese on it before looked at recipes on line and the style omelet I order call for cheese. The casher told me that some omelets don't come with cheese on the omelet. Cheese is the main part why I ever order a omelet. I was offered a 10% discount for not getting my coffee refilled. I was just disappointed in the food. I was very excited to have lunch with my husband today as we don't often have the opportunity to do so. I was first sat in a section I had requested. After waiting quiet some time to be greeted by my server I was finally approached. I ordered my beverages then moved to another section because that one was quite cold. I moved to a small section where it just so happened there were no other patrons sitting. We began enjoying our soups when the manager and several employees sat in a booth just a couple booths down from ours. They began talking so loud that we could not hear our own conversations...one conversation about women"s breasts were just one of many conversations. I've always liked Round the Clock. I've been going here since I was a kid. It's remained very much the same since then, although they've renovated the place to look like an old-fashioned train dining car. The food is good. I like their Greek platter and their omelets. We came across this restaurant by chance as we were driving by Laporte and it has truly become one of our favorites. Extensive menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner (which we have experienced all three meal times over 10+ visits). Very generous portions and the food is really good. Prices are extremely reasonable for the food that you receive and the service has always been very good. We are now regulars and our kids request to go there when we stay at our cabin in Three Oaks Michigan. read more

We had a group of 16 for a Sunday evening. Gave them a 2.5 hour heads up that we were coming. We arrived and there was nothing ready for us and we waited for 20 minutes to be seated. Orders were taken and we waited. Finally the soups and salads came out. Soups were all cold and sent back, came back out again and were still cold. We gave up on the soups. And waited and waited and waited for dinner. When it came, most of it was cold, and some wrong. One person was given two dinners and told that was the special he ordered. It was actually his dinner and another person's dinner. Long story shortened, 5 people out of our group of 15 didn't eat dinner. The poor waitress did her best. We complained to the manager and requested 50% off. We were given 10% off our bills which was a complete insult since they have coupons widely available for $6 off 2 dinners. I will never set foot in this dirty, mismanaged place again. This was 2.5 hours of a terrible experience. read more
