Rouse hardware is a great local hardware store. As others have already remarked it gives you the feeling of. Mom and pop type of store and until recently I didn't even know that there are multiple stores in the greater Columbus area. I really like their customer service. We go to this store for small items (screw, nuts, etc) to large ticket items (e.g., a Weber grill) and we've always been pleased with the quality and the customer service. Great customer service, and that small-town feel. Rough Hardware was founded in 1951. This place was around way before Home Depot, Lowe's etc. When you walk in the door you notice the customer service desk that sits above the ground like a look out tower. There are always people in there to help you find what you need and will call out to certain areas for further assistance. I remember coming here as a child with my parents as this was the place to go to get all your hardware needs. They carry a little of this and a little of that and their prices are a bit higher here but sometimes it's worth it to pay a littler more for something that you need right away but can't get it anywhere else in town. If you are in Ohio and are near Westerville or Dublin you should stop by and visit. This is one of those cool places you should visit before leaving town. read more

I stopped in to upgrade my lawn equipment and right away Mark who is a manager walks up to me and gives me outstanding customer service. I didnt waste his time and i bought what i came there for. I go into the Westerville location a couple weeks ago and im in there an hour and not 1 person asks me anything so i leave. I wonder why?? Anyway they missed out on a huge sale. A very specific type of glue and other sorts of miscellaneous hardware goods brought me over to Roush Hardware. I don't care for this shopping center, because it gets very busy, bustling and annoying when it comes to parking and pedestrians.. However, the great service and inventory at Roush Hardware will easily bring me back in the future. My experience with finding a competent small hardware store since moving the the north end of the outer belt has proven a challenge. Sure you have the big box stores every few miles, but I enjoy supporting the little man... the co-ops. Walking into Roush we were greeted and asked within seconds what we were looking for. Their staff is eager to direct you to your destination and they helped me very quickly. I like that these little stores also have a random "clearance" area.... Nothing of which I could use unless I was a master plummer or a Grandma of hoarding outdoor knick-knacks, but it was still fun to parooze through. They also had some local goods here and there, so that's always a plus to see. Prices are right on the mark, they still offer a variety of items to choose from in the areas and not just... "This is it. Take it or leave it." They aren't gouging their customers and I can appreciate that. The cashiers were nice and talkative and even I daresay... helpful. While they still cannot take the #1 spot of McAulliffe's ACE over in Marysville, which I miss having around terribly... They still are able to fill their shoes and are accommodating to any hardware needs. read more

Bigger than some, but not like Home Depot, Roush has a decent selection, decent prices, and excellent customer service. They know what you need, and if they don't have it they'll get it or suggest a good alternative. read more

I'm sorry to report our experience at Roush went downhill. Initially we were treated kindly upon dropping off a repair. The work didn't fit so we asked it to be fixed. We didn't accuse anyone of wrong doing or making a mistake. We didn't ask for the work to be free of charge. My husband said "it doesn't fit". The reply? An employee shouted at my husband, with his finger in his face. This went on for several minutes. This happened within ear shot of the manager who did nothing until my husband requested the employee get the manager. I have never seen such aggressive behavior towards a customer. The manager offered to fix it, and the work was completed quickly. We value supporting local business but we won't shop again at this store. read more

Like a lot of women, going into a hardware store is sometimes overwhelming and can be an overall bad experience. However, I have been going to Roush Hardware for over 5 years and have never had a bad experience. When I moved a year ago to the Sawmill area, I needed a dryer vent hose. I went to Home Depot because it was just a block away. Not only did I have to ask numerous people before I received service, when I finally did they gave me the wrong size of hose. My Dad went to Roush and they cut the exact size of hose we needed. I went into Lowe's today, again because it is just a couple of blocks away, and no one was available to help. Oddly enough, I saw the same workers who appeared too busy to help me, helping male customers. I walked out and went to Roush Hardware. When I arrived at Roush's I was greeted and received immediate assistance. In addition, when I depleted their stock and still needed more handles, they were quick to order what the product with a smile on their face. Long story short, I will not go to Home Depot or Lowe's again. It does not matter how far you live from one of Roush's locations, it is worth the drive for the service you receive! read more

***This message is important for all needing affordable and friendly services*** This place is GREAT! I came in with a short time window for getting glass cut for a very odd and not perfect frame. Not only were they really friendly and caring about my frame, but they paid attention to detail and made sure it was a perfect fit! Now you can't get that just anywhere! They also made sure to set it and wrap it up to protect it from travel! You could go to a custom frame shop and get charged an arm and a leg for the same thing. Or go to Any other hardware store and get poor service and a half ass job... Or just go here and get friendly, fast, affordable service, also for durable good quality material. I used to like the store and the fact it is employee led. But I had a bad experience 9/28/17. The cashier lady - Lynn - really needs some customer relations training. When I didn't hear her clearly about which cashier lane to go to and handed her the super-glue that i just bought, she just grabbed it in a harsh manner towards the scanner and gave me a disgusted shrug. Noticing that I said, "are you angry? I didnt hear your clearly.". Ofcourse now she was just silent. Horrible customer service by this particular employee. I will still shop in the store but if i see this clerk at the cashier, i will go to another and if there is nobody else, i wont purchase. It's experiences like this that lead customers to amazon the giant. :( read more

Great "old fashion" hardware store! You walk in and you're greeted right away. They always ask what you're looking for or if they can be assistance. Each time I tell them they immediately tell me what aisle and more times than not they walk me over. The bonus factor is they have a popcorn machine!! My kids love getting a free mini bag of popcorn while dad is shopping. read more

This is my go to store for just about everything relating to home/garden maintenance. If you call about something, they don't put you on musac, they put you right through to someone who can help. Been shopping there for years. If I want 1 screw, 1 washer or just one nut, I can buy just 1 and not have to mess with an open box with 25 unused pieces. The help are not seasonal temps, but people with experience and always ready to help and even with alternative suggestions. I will never buy hardware at the big box stores. Roush is 100% customer focused. In fact, I live in Lewis Center and drive to either Westerville or Dublin for my needs. That's how satisfied I am with their line of products and services. I gotta say I do love Roush Hardware, however I had bought a air compressor and all I needed was a hose. The guy who helped me recommend a 300psi rated hose so I bought it. Not even 20 minutes of using it under 100 psi of pressure, the whole entire hose completely exploded. read more

This store is a gem. Have shopped here for 15+ years and never had a bad experience. Friendly, knowledgeable staff and they stock just about everything. I really appreciate the assistance that is always offered, and love the fact that I can buy a small quantity of needed items. Prices are reasonable - and while you may be able to get some things cheaper at a big box store, the service at Roush is exceptional. We needed a new fireplace grate. Had been to Lowe's and tried Roush as a total maybe. A guy greeted us at the door, showed us to a great selection of what we needed, scanned it to be sure the product dimensions would work for us, and was just friendly as he could be. Oh. We tried to enter the store at 8:58 pm and closing time is 9 pm. The door was already locked and the sign already flipped to closed. I agree with the other reviews. Roush puts a priority on service and it stays competitive on price as well (you can easily find 10% off coupons on the back of Kroger receipts or on the discount cards sold by local kids' sports teams). I bought my husband an upgraded Weber kettle grill for Father's Day and the price I got was much better than at Home Depot. Roush staff take time to help you figure out what you need and they pack a surprisingly wide array of goods into a very manageable space. There's rarely anything that I need to get at one of the big box stores that isn't easier to get at Roush. read more

This is the old hardware store you thought was destroyed by the giants. I am always asked if I can be helped with something while at the big store I can never seem to find a clerk. They stock quality brands like Vaughn hammers. I searched online for the best hammer I could find and it was a Vaughn hammer and then I discovered Roush carries them. They even have a large selection of stainless steel screws - I put some on a few cars of mine to prevent the screws from rusting to the car like they did on my '86 Toyota. By the time you're finished going those those huge stores like Home Depot, you're exhausted! Give me Roush Hardware any day! read more

We went in to purchase a Weber grill and I've never been so disgusted by the way I've been treated by the grill saleswoman. She acted like it was a complete chore to assist us and was so incredibly NOT helpful. I felt like I was pulling teeth just to get simple questions answered and I was the one wanting to make a large purchase. You would think when you have someone wanting to make a large purchase you would do your best to complete the sale. Needless to say we went elsewhere and won't be back. The only reason I didn't give 1 star was due to the friendliness of the rest of the staff. read more

Someone always knows what I need for a particular task and is able to explain how to accomplish the task. It;s also nice too see familiar faces of long time employees when I go there.
