From the moment he started talking about the car I came in to test drive, he gushed about everything from the paint to the LED lights to the functionality to the seats and how wonderful and amazing it all was. Then he told me he could get me a price almost as good as a used car I was looking at for a brand new one. I was taken for a fool. I wanted to by Honda sport hybrid. test drove it. Loved it but it didn't have BSI. WHEN (Dave) salesman came with the paperwork which had the numbers. The MSRP price was $32,449 without BSI. HE PUT $2895 for moonroof and $1995 for BSI. I told him it already has a moonroof. Then he add a 33 yr 330k mile powertrain warranty $4000, 3 yr nitro fill tire protection $898, 3 yr theft deterrent system $599, wheel locks $298, and DOC $695 grand total $42,117. Do yourself a favor and bypass this dealership. First, let me start by saying that I had always liked this dealership and refused to go anywhere else. I leased a car with them in 2020 and was extremely happy with my purchase. When that lease came up for renewal in November, I went in to discuss financing a lease buyout because I didn't have $5000 to put down on a new lease and the buyout amount showing on my account was a reasonable price. While at the dealership, that price was suddenly increased by $2000.00 which did not include other fees and taxes they were rolling into the price. Despite knowing that I didn't have the money to put down on a new lease, the rep came back with a paper showing the payment options, all of which required money down to get the lowest car payment, which was still turning out to be higher than my lease payment. I requested a lease extension to give me time to consider a different financing route. I got approved for a lease buyout loan with Bank of America. No money down and low payments for 5 years. I called Honda to request a lease buyout package and they insisted I come in and talk with someone. When they learned I was going through B of A for financing they said "But we can get you a great rate too with no money down. Oh, and your car needs to go in for a safety/security check right now because it's mandatory for a lease buyout." Just like the last time, the rep comes back with a sheet of paper, this time showing the buyout price being $1000.00 more than what it was showing on my account, along with projected monthly payments of $100.00 more than what I was paying on my lease and what I would be paying with Bank of America. Around this time, the service manager, Jason, came in to tell me that I needed all kinds of work on my car. Namely, two new fog lights, an air filter cap, wiper blades, and a brake and transmission fluid flush for a grand total of $2000.00! My husband is a mechanic and he told me the work shouldn't cost more than $400.00. So now they roll in the labor cost into my buyout payments because they can give me a discount if I do that. Hooray! The service is now only going to cost me $1700.00! By the time all was said and done, not to mention 3 hours later, they had me sign my loan package. I did end up needing to put $2000.00 down despite Moe (one of the many reps I spoke to) saying "Oh, I can get you this great payment with no money down." Yeah, right. The paperwork they showed me had a price of a little more than $16,000 (including the service they were doing on the car). To put this in context, the buyout amount on my account was $11,483.00. I'm now at over $16K. The payments are $70.00 higher a month, something I was trying to avoid. They had me sign on an iPad which is only showing your signature and not what you are signing. I was exhausted. I took the printout, brought it home, only to discover that my loan is over $20,000.00! Which was the amount of the car when I first leased it brand new. It is now a 4-year used car and I'm paying full price for it?!?! I've been in tears all morning and have called several times to try to rectify this and they keep saying, "We'll have someone call you back", which no one has called me back. They are so quick to get you in the door and sell you everything under the sun and everyone is rushing over with their fake smiles, offering you water but as soon as you call to complain, it's radio silence. I am so disgusted and extremely upset about all this. I received a text at 12:30 in the morning from them, thanking me for coming in and would I mind leaving a review. So here I am, doing just that. This is so disappointing because I really did like doing business with them in the past. Who knew they would turn out to be just like every other dealership trying to screw you over so they can line their pockets with more money. I really wish this industry was paid by the hour instead of commission. Maybe then they would do right by their customers. read more

John, Sebastian, and Dan literally would not let me leave until I got the deal I wanted. Once that happened, Mark and Chad in finance made putting pen to paper easy. It was a pleasure talking to each of them, so much so that if I could not have made a Ridgeline work financially, sticking with them and buying a different Honda within my budget would've been a no-brainer. Traded in my 2021 Civic back in February for a 2023 CRV. Thought these guys cancelled my HondaCare, as they told me to expect a 2,600 dollar check in the mail. Call HondaCare almost two months later, NOPE, not cancelled. Finally cancel it, and what does HondaCare do? Send the check to the lienholder(them). So I call them and what is their response? "Oh, Accounting will send it to you. You'll get it eventually"... Nice attitude, never again. Oh, and still waiting on my floormats that were supposed to come with the CRV. "Route 128 Honda, Where the Customer ALWAYS comes first!" Big, Fat, Lie. I don't always post reviews of my negative experiences with a business/company, but when the slogan is this big of a lie, then I have to speak up. This slogan btw is on a giant banner as you walk into the dealership. Ok on to my story/experience....My mother recently purchased a brand new Honda Odyssey from Route 128 Honda. $40,000 car and she is VERY happy with it. The salesman she had at Route 128 Honda tells her that she will receive a referral bonus for any customer she sends to route 128... My wife was also in need of a new car, sees my mom's car, likes it, and so my mother refers her to go to Route 128 Honda. My wife ends up buying a brand new CRV...another $40,000 car. After 1 month and over a dozen phone calls and 2 in person visits inquiring about the referral bonus, Route 128 Honda will not give my mother the referral bonus that was promised to her for referring a new customer. $80,000 in new cars sales and now we have learned that apparently the customer doesn't come first... a customer that brought you more business. The excuse making and bs reasons for not sending the check were insulting: "oh I'll have to transfer you to someone else," "oh I'll have to put you on hold" , "oh he isn't at his desk, you will have to call back", "sorry he is busy right now, you will have to leave a voicemail" , "oh that salesman doesn't work here anymore" , "tomorrow is my day off, I will get back to you when I return" "The check is cut, I'm putting it in the mail soon" - the list of bs excuses my mother got by route 128 Honda EVERY. Like most things, buying a car post-pandemic & post manufacturing shortage is a different experience from a couple of years ago. Dealerships have also had to adjust to the demands of more savvy buyers with higher expectations. After having my 2005 Honda CRV serviced for a recall at 128 Honda, the dealership stayed in my mind for the quality of work and the non-pressured atmosphere. When an ad for a newer CRV popped up online, I was able to connect with Maria over the phone who got me in to see the vehicle same day. I was connected with sales associate, Anthony Ospina, who made the process pain-free. Recognizing that we are in a dealers market, it was a welcome relief to have Anthony as a non-pressured and completely professional sales associate who was willing to work with you and not just for the dealer. I cannot speak highly enough about this dealership. The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. We went in today and were helped by the GM Chris and the Senior Sales Consultant Robert. They found the perfect car for us to fit our budget and needs. Can't wait to pick it up in a couple of days!!!! Bait & Switch? I just had the most disappointing experience with this dealership. We were dealing with a salesperson, who I will not mention by name (feel free to message me for details), that totally dropped the ball on our deal. We were looking for a Honda Odyssey EX in a particular color (not a popular color, so not easy to locate). The salesperson quoted us on the EX, giving us a printed quote with the details. He quickly reported locating the right vehicle and arranged for delivery to their dealership. Over the next three days, I attempted to contact him by phone call and text several times with some questions but was not getting a response. He finally responded to answer my questions and reiterated that the price would be the same as we were quoted. A couple days later I got the call that "our car" was in and we arranged a time to come in and seal the deal. We arrived at the dealership and were told "here's your car" by this salesperson. The exterior color was correct but we quickly found out it was the EX-L model, with a price of $8,000 more than the EX quote! The whole family was extremely disappointed. He apologized and offered to give us an extra $1000 off the price. What salesperson completely ignores the information a prospective customer gives them and completely ignores the information he gave to the prospective customer and locates a car from a remote dealership that is the WRONG VEHICLE and is $8000 MORE EXPENSIVE??? Needless to say, we quickly walked away. I hope that Odyssey sits on their lot, unsold, as the 2020 models arrive, and they have to take a big hit on the price. read more

Worst experience! Don't buy used cars from them! I got a used Honda Accord from Honda route 128 on Oct 31, I paid in cash, the car failed inspection, and told me to take it to make some miles so I took it and found the car is not stable on the high way and not safe. I reported this issue on Nov 1, the sales manager "Jason" said they will return it with a refund once I receive the title! So I believed them and waited and when I got the title, I called them to complete our agreement, their reply is that we won't give you the money back and we won't fix it and that's it , even will not make it pass inspection and stopped answering my phone ! They aren't professional and I really hope no one will pass with the same experience as I did!! read more

We had towed our car to Honda service center 3 days before because of the car failure and end of the 2nd day also they weren't sure that if technician will have time to touch our car for auto diagnostics.We also mentioned that we had only one car and had been loyal customer but they were very busy and the lady at service center was very rude. So we got our car towed to herb center at Burlington which was as busy as reading .They were not only able to have technician look at our car and identify the problem on same day. We are not planning to go back to Reading in future and it was just a bad customer service wish there was a negative star. read more

I explained to him what I was looking for and I wasn't here to play games. We went inside sat down got me the a fair price for Honda pilot then secondly was the trade. He came back a little low for the trade then after talking with his manager (Jason) he was able to hit the mark I was looking for and I bought the vehicle. Over all a good experience. Service -after giving a 4 star review in my past I must now take back all stars. Why? Well it starts at the top with the service and general manager. The dealership had a person who tested positive for corona virus. The dealership did the right thing and closed down for 2 weeks. They unfortunately had my car for 2 weeks with zero notifications - I had no idea they were effected but they also failed to mention the person was at the dealership was there when we were as well. I love Rt. 128 Honda. My first experience began on the 3rd of July back in 2018 when my car literally died in my driveway and I needed a new car immediately. My brother who is a mechanic recommended Rt. 128 Honda and told me to go in and lease a vehicle. As luck would have it Rob Giovannuci was there and my experience was a great one. The day before a holiday and my insurance company was about to close, Rob or "Honda Rob" as I refer to him helped me get everything I needed and even allowed me to borrow a vehicle to take my Mom to her doctor's appointment while the car was getting detailed for me. Many times I've been to the service bay or the "drive" as it's refered to and every Service advisor works as a team and does everything they possible can to make sure their customers are happy. I have had such a great experience at this dealership that I applied for a job and I now work in the Business Development Center. read more

After asking receptionist, if they had one in stock to view, she politely let me know a Sales Person would be with me shortly. Waited 10 minutes and no one came to us, yet there were at least 2-3 Honda Sales Guys joking around and having fun with other customers or employees. Couldn't tell. I totally get sales pitch where you need "the manager" to talk to you but instead of wasting time trying to work every customer, you ignore other potential customers waiting. I was not only other customer waiting as I saw other customers also standing around. Decided not worth my time and left. Very poor customer service. I leased a brand new car recently and discovered after getting it home that the air conditioning didn't work. I brought it back and was told it would be a several hour wait, so we left the car there to be fixed. Three days later we find out the part they thought was the issue was only PART of the problem, and a full diagnosis can't be performed for ANOTHER 3 days. Again, this is a brand new car. Is there no method of making sure the cars actually work before they turn them over? Several calls placed to both the service and sales department, all giving the same response of "I don't know, this isn't my fault". Made a request for a manager to call me. Never happened. More voicemails left. Nothing. I kept asking how a new car can have these kinds of issues and nobody knows, just more "I don't know, not my fault." It is also worth noting this is the third car I have leased from Prime Honda 128 and was told I was a "valued customer". Doesn't seem like it since I am literary begging someone, anyone, at this dealership to give a crap about my questions and offer a resolution to a brand new car being broken. read more

I told the salesperson I would like to have said pre-owned car inspected at my mechanic to which the salesperson agreed. 3 hours later I came to take car to mechanic as I had arranged. My salesperson went to get the plates for me. The salesperson returned and said a new policy was enacted 3 minutes ago (yes, those were his words) and the dealership's general manager doesn't permit vehicles to go out to be checked by mechanics. Prime Honda 128 in Reading is dishonest, shady, and squandered my day off when I could have looked at other cars elsewhere. They cost my mechanic's time who was holding a space in the schedule for me. I ran away from the car and the dealership as fast as I could. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALER! I would rate zero if I could. This was the worst dealer experience I have ever had. This is my 8 or 9th car purchase and I had never experienced such terrible sales service. I was sold accessories for me 2023 car which they did not have in stock. Nor did they tell me that. It took several weeks to get parts for new vehicle. I had to follow up with the dealer several times to get status update...I am not sure if I would have heard from them otherwise. It took them a week to register and get the car ready for pickup. I was sold a maintenance program for my 2023 vehicle and a week later they advertised the same program as being free with purchase. When I inquired with sales manager Paul, he basically told me tough luck..."the program did not exist last week". I guess they thought it up overnight and got it posted to their site without any prep??? complete crap! Every time I brought up the issues to managers, all they could say is that the dealer recently was sold and they are figuring it out. Well, that does not matter to the customer that is paying full price for full service! Owner should invest in customer service training and honor new deals for recently sold vehicles... read more

It was just a sad experience coming here. I went to look at a BMW 328i that I was referred to me by their partner store BMW of Norwood. Made my appointment and went there to look at the car. Tina was my contact person and she called me in the morning to confirm and then 5min before my appoint to make sure I was still coming because they wanted to ship the car to another store. I went she introduced me to my sales person Abe. He was rushing me saying "you see that guy he is waiting to take the car to another store" I responded saying don't rush me and he has to wait. He took my ID enter it into the system and then make a copy of it. I waited for about 15 minutes while he look for plates etc. He couldn't find any and we waited another 10minutes. Then he said the car is outside you can look at it while I find the plates. Plate finally found and test drive the car feeling great. This is it. I told him my mom will be co-signing on the car he said no problem. Filled out the paper work wrote my deposit check and signed everything. Only to have him come back saying if I am not taking the car on my credit alone which has a payment of $336 a month. He can't sell it to me because that guy is waiting to take it to a different store. I am beyond upset now because it is now 1 hour and 55 minutes of my time only to be told I can't get it. I asked to talk to the person who made this decision and the head guy came out in a powder blue suite to explain why a paying customer can't get a merchandise because another person what to view it at another store. Come to find out that BMW of Norwood (check out my review in them after this), a partner store in the Prime Motor Group. Was paying them the full price of the car to have it shipped to them immediately for somebody to view it. So my deposit and intention to come back with my mother to co-sign wasn't good enough. This is after waiting two hours and filling out paper work. Upon leaving another sales person Chris and the pleasant receptions said goodbye and I was so upset I walked passed them. However I am not a rude person so I turned back and apologize to them and let them know I am not upset at them and don't want to be rude. Chris was so pleasant he cracked a few jokes that actually cheered me up. He said "maybe that one wasn't for you and keep looking you probable will find something better. Ed Wallace. What a rude, demeaning personality. He was yelling in front of his employees and customers at me for arguing that my first oil change must be free as promised for my brand new Honda. The agent was worse which it not surprising when you see your boss acting and behaving like that. Literally a customer came out after to tell me his story outside and the only reason he still goes there is because he is handicapped and he cannot drive far. He felt the same about the rudeness and disrespect of that team there. Ed's business card is saying Director which is funny to see such a title with those low standards and behaviors.
