Deceptive Practices and Nonexistent Customer Service I recently made an appointment at Nissan on Route 33 in Trenton, NJ, to purchase a 2022 Nissan Sentra with 8k miles, advertised online for around $19,000. I arrived promptly, one minute before my appointment, and was met by a random salesman named Kyrie. While he was nice enough and did what he was supposed to, according to him, the real issue here is the dealership's deceptive pricing tactics. I came prepared for a cash purchase, ready to place a deposit on the car. I expected to meet with the manager, Jeffrey, to negotiate the deal, but I never even saw him. Instead, the salesman went back and forth to this "ghost" of a manager, and when I finally saw the numbers, I was stunned. They added a $4,000 "certified pre-owned" fee, a $3,000 inspection fee, and another $2,500 for taxes and document fees. When it was all said and done, the final price was $29,000--more than the cost of a brand new Sentra straight from Nissan's website. This place is a joke, and it's shocking that they're still in business with such blatantly deceptive practices. I drove nearly an hour for this nonsense. As a 17-year veteran of the Philadelphia Fire Department, I'll be sure to let the International Association of Firefighters know about this experience and advise them to steer clear of Nissan on Route 33 in Trenton, NJ. I have been taking my Rogue for standard oil change / tire rotation and every six months the price keeps going up, they charge a misc $5 charge for nothing , and 3% transaction fee on credit card on top of it .. the most recent oil change costed $93.. seems like a complete ripoff. First time when I got it done , it was $39, next time with tire rotation it was $93 and this time only oil change was $93. not sure if I would like to go back there next time or rather explore other options. read more

Absolutely stay clear! Purchased a 2023 Nissan rogue certified Pre-Owned in 2024, and it has been giving a list of issues! The master warning light repeatedly comes on, and my sensor lights are always going off. Also when I initially purchased the car, there were burn marks on the seats I missed & marking on the roof (that they NEVER disclosed until I found it after purchase). When I confronted them, they tried to spin the situation and blame me, and I literally had to go back and forth to have them agree to fix it (which they did an absolutely poor job at). I never bought a car from this dealership, I didn't even know this place, till me and my wife received a letter that we had a car loan from a car we bought from Honda, and this dealership sent us a letter with are full name and address, and personal information that we absolutely did not share with this dealership, asking us about our car loan if we wanted to buy a car from them, this is predatory advertising and sales , we are also do no contact list registration with do no call list, after contact this dealership about the letter, we're very rude, especially asking to speak to the general manager about how they got our personal information, did not allow us to talk or complain to anyone, asking if we want to be removed from there system, this practice is unprofessional way to get customers into there dealership, this is wrong to chase customers and get there personal information, then ask if you want to not contacted in the future, with all the bad reviews with this dealership, I'm surprised they are still in business. BEWARE!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS DEALERSHIP!! THIS DEALERSHIP IS NOT WORTHY OF A STAR RATING! In December of 2022 we bought our car from this Nissan dealership, since then we have had 2 oil changes from them with no problems. When I came back on June 9 for a third one, the next morning our car said we were low on oil??? So we brought the car back the next day to find out why and how can this happen. The first attendant who was a young man worked on our car and seemed exhausted or out of it. After they refilled the oil and looked at the car they said that the drain threads on the oil pan were coming out, so they said that they could fix it for $2000, and that since the oil pan is aluminum that WE would have to foot the bill??? I asked if this was normal, and they said that since it's aluminum and if you have a bunch of oil changes this can happen, not to mention the fact that if you over tighten the bolt it will strip it out. (Which they totally did but don't want to fess up to the mess that they caused.) I immediately contacted another dealership and asked if this is a common problem with this type of vehicle and they said that although it can happen, it's extremely rare. And that they haven't seen it happen with this model. To the attendants at NISSAN on 33, If you break it you should fix it, not LIE and proceed to rig it up so that we can leave and not touch it again until we fix the problem that YOU caused. I then spoke with Christian Orso who is the service manager and he seemed superficial and apathetic about my issue. Fast forward to today August 11th, he once again didn't give me the time of day to talk to me when I came in for another oil change. Ken Papp is the other attendant who probably shouldn't have any business working there because he's just a grumpy senior citizen who told me he won't touch my car until we fix the 2000 problem that they caused! He was rude and uncaring to not even bother to try to find a resolve. Not an "I'm sorry" or anything! Furthermore, five minutes after I left I called from my car and spoke with an Alexa to get their names and although she asked me what the problem was and maybe she can help hung up on me in the middle of our conversation. I mean- you ask me what the problem is and then you hang up on me? I called back but no one answered the phone. This is an admission of guilt. This is not customer service, this is customer abuse. They know they're in the wrong and don't give two craps about you once you drive a car off their lot. Their behavior is so sad when so many in the world are struggling on different levels. I would love to sue them for their actions and I could so who knows but WATCH OUT CONSUMERS........ They basically sell you a car and then it's "good riddance." Leased 2 cars back to back here over the last 6 years. In the past year, service has declined greatly. Went for an oil change in July, had a recall that needed to be addressed. I waited 4 hours and no one updated me at all. Around the end of the day, one of the managers/supervisors asked me what I was waiting for, and ended up comping me the oil change. Kind of brushed it off as a one time thing and went back for regular service and oil change last week and felt like I was inconveniencing the staff. Waited about 5 minutes to just get checked in when no one else was being checked in. Luckily, was in and out in an hour, but when I got back to my car, they did not refill my wiper fluid and my tire pressure was low. They used to do these things, and what is most frustrating is that they told me I should get new tires, but couldn't fill mine up with air? Just feels like the quality and service has really gone down. Was charged $76 for an oil change and they could not do something simple that places like Jiffy Lube do without even asking. I don't expect 5 star luxury service but I feel like the absolute minimum was done. Between this and not being informed of anything happening back in July, I could get it done better anywhere else. I still had an appointment to see another vehicle at Piazza VW, so I went and got a much better deal there (no hidden fees). So now He wanted to run my boyfriends credit first, to which we said "no, let's confirm the price first". He said he would talk to his manager, but we literally watched him stand at the front desk and do nothing for about 5 minutes . He came back with some story about rebates for college students and military discount and Nissan loyalty. We decided to come to Route 33 Nissan after finding a car on CarGurus. We were already pre-qualified but since it was our first time we really didn't know what that meant. We had our initial text conversation with Chrystal (not sure if it was her the entire time) and she began the process of asking questions to find out what we were looking for. We were in a tight spot with not much time so to not waste time I laid out all of the obstacles we may face upfront as openly and honest as possible so if we would be denied, it would be from the start. Nope, Chrystal repeatedly mentioned they could work with us. We submitted an application online and both my girlfriend and I were approved; me being the co-signer. We got super excited and shared the cars we were interested in. But, I knew our down payment would be an issue so continued to bring that up to ensure before I take an hour drive after work with not only my girlfriend but our 6 month old son, I wanted to be sure we'd absolutely drive off with a car. She mentioned over and over we were approved, it's a same day process, and we would leave with a car. I have texts to prove this also. We head over after work with excitement. The manager, Kyle, shot us a text saying him and Christian would help make sure we got the car and all would be good. We arrive and ask for them, and Cris takes us to his desk and for some reason, and we didn't even question, ran an application AND our credit AGAIN. Before I continue Cris was super friendly. He comes back and his body language already said it. He couldn't help. Even after we told him everything and us already being approved. While sitting there, before finding out we were denied for some reason unless we paid "$10,000" as a down payment (which is insane after being told they have no set down payment amount and was told over and over they'd work with us) Kyle called me and asked if I was there. I told him I was. He said great I'll come say hi. He never came... We thanked Cris for his time, he gave us his # and we left. Well, how movie scene is this? Our car doesn't start. Battery or alternator gave. Another employee offered to help and jumped the car but it still died. We let them know we would come back tomorrow to get it. Now over an hour from our house I'm stranded with a 6 month old and my girlfriend on Route 33 so we walk to iHop to wait for our ride and eat. I text Chrystal, Kyle, and Cris that I was confused after being told one thing and yet another happening while we are waiting at an iHop stranded at night. But no one responded. The next day comes and still no communication from anyone. So I text Cris that we have a pre-approval from a lender (which he mentioned we should get to get a car) for cars on their lot. He said he'll look into it. And then nothing, again... I arrive at the dealership that night and NO ONE COMES OUT TO TALK TO ME while I figure out how to get my car off the lot. To me, this shows so much of a character flaw. Maybe we didn't get approved (even though we did) and didn't walk away with a car but as a human, come talk to me. Apologize, check on what our night was like after walking off your lot with a baby at night, ask about my car stuck in your parking lot. But nothing. And to top it off. I've been looking for a used SUV for quite some time and narrowing down my choices. I found a vehicle at this dealership that looked like a great price so I decided to check it out. Now, before I go into the review, I should mention that back in 2015, I test drove a vehicle here and the sales team was so shady that I swore to never step foot into this dealership again. They wanted to charge me more for a used car than I could buy car new, and the market was nowhere near what it is today. But after 8 years I figured perhaps things had changed. Well I was completely wrong. Keep in mind I've been looking for a car for months and have visited plenty of dealerships. Well when the salesman here told me that for a $23,500 car, I would need to put down 10k to get a payment under $400 (with an 800+ credit score), I was floored. So I ask to see a breakdown of the numbers. One thing that I see is a $2500 dealer inspection fee, so I ask what that was. I was told this is the fee to get the used car ready to sell, or some kind of BS like that. Really?? I've been to many dealerships and have seen certification fees on certified vehicles that range about $700-1000, but a used car inspection fee for a car without any sort of warranty? I called ahead and was assured the car was there so I made an appointment. When I arrived no one was expecting me so they assigned me a salesman. He had no problem finding the car I came to see and brought it around, but he had no idea what the price was. I showed him the advertised price so they heavily tried to oversell what they called an inspection and warranty for 6 thousand dollars. This was truly one of the best experiences I have had at a car repair shop. My partner and I left Toronto on Tuesday, driving to Hamilton Township NJ. We got as far as Syracruse NY and the engine started smoking. There was oil all over inside the engine when I popped the hood. We made to NJ. On Thursday we called Route 33 Nissan for help with the leaking oil. We were driving back 500 miles on Saturday. We called at 1:30pm. They took us in right away. We were there by 2:00pm. By 4:30pm it was done. The reason for the leak was that the dip stick had come loose somehow and the oil was leaking out from there. They washed away all the oil off the engine so it wouldn't burn off and smoke. Raised the car to in inspect the engine, looking for any other leaking cause. Now, this was our particular situation only that I can speak for, but when the bill came at the end they charged us zero. Basically the rep Shawn explained the dip stick thing and since nothing was really wrong, broken, in need of fixing, etc. that they could not charge us anything. It would be wrong to charge us. I truly thought this was one of the nicest service experiences ever. My partner has end stage lung cancer and COPD. The entire time we were with multiple oxygen tanks while in the waiting area. The people working at Route 33 Nissan have heart. They could see how difficult our situation was. They truly cared and were most helpful. We had to drive 500 miles home the next day with a reliable engine which was not losing oil and smoking. There are still nice, kind, caring folks out there. If I could give this place zero stars I definitely would! They'll get you a car but they'll scam you in the process. I do love my car but this car dealership has some very sneaky tactics and they know it. PAY ATTENTION TO THE BAD REVIEWS!! They had me put a 6,000 down payment on a 22,000 dollar car and somehow I still owed 25,000 on my loan and that's before interest. I was told the down payment was going towards the car cost but it clearly did not. If you're looking for a car shop around first, don't be foolish like me. They will try to sweet talk you and say it's your credit or something else but it's not. They want more money for their pockets. Singh my car dealer was nice but a con and they registered my vehicle to the wrong address so getting my new registration was a nightmare. I even called Singh asking for help and he never called back after saying he would. Simply put, stay away from this place, and if they claim they're giving you a good deal, walk away, go to other dealerships and you'll find out it's not a good deal! I'm so aggravated with Route 33 Nissan so I first went there and I traded my Ford Taurus in (to upgrade for my birthday) I got a 2021 Nissan Altima which the carfax said it had a scratch on the bumper; turns out when it rained the whole trunk filled with water; ruining all my personal possessions (so the "scratch" was more than just a scratch). So I complained and they let me trade it in (after they charged me $4000 for depreciation after only 32 days of me having it) so I got the 2021 Chrysler 300s (that I loved very much) until one day it started riding funny; turned out it was the control arm, and bushings/ whole front end. I was told to take it to the Chrysler Jeep Dodge dealership, so I called the nearest one which was Route 1 Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (who told me that the car was under the dealership warranty, but I had to go to Rt 33 to get a loaner car). This went on for about 3 days (the whole time I was without a car). Long story short: Rt 33 told me to take it to their shop with was Route 130 Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram who told me that the issue with my car was my tires and that I would have to pay $1,000 (which I called Rt 33 & they paid). So I thought all the issues were worked out; got the car back and it's shaking uncontrollably the same as it's always been. So I had to take it back to Rt 33 cause they're the ones that recommended me to go to Rt 130 (who said something totally different than Rt1). So now Rt 33 is telling me that it's the rotors which was a part of my original complaint; but they made me pay $377 to replace my rotors (which I had no problem with paying; if it was going to make my car start working properly). It stopped shaking, but now it's pulling ‍ & it's a new car... this is my 2nd new car from #Route33Nissan and at this point they're are selling LEMONS . Just got the car back and it's back in the shop for the same exact problem. I wish I never traded my car in with them to start with & $2500; then I turned around and gave them $4000 to upgrade only to still be having issues. Not to mention I paid $300 for each of the cars to be tinted and that's more money down the drain. SMH worse experience ever!!! read more

They stripped our trade in vehicle before we actually signed any paperwork and we found out later that they charged us extra for a warranty that was supposed to be free. I can't speak to the sales team, but I will absolutely shout out the service department. I literally travel from PA to come here. Their customer service is the best, they are honest and do not try to squeeze every little penny out of you. I took my car in prepared to replace all of my brakes, and they actually called to say that my front brakes have a little more life on them and that they will just take a look at them during my next oil change. They could have just replaced them and taken my money without it being necessary, but they were honest. While the sales guy I worked with was great and even let me test drive the car by myself, the used car sales manager was a complete jerk. After driving the vehicle and seeing its condition, I used the blue book value to begin negotiating with him. While I did start on the lower spectrum, it was still within the blue book value. When I tell the manager by offer, the first thing out of his mouth is "well, can you buy a car from KBB?" What type of snide, condescending response is that to a prospective customer? Not only that, but after I responded telling him that is the going rate/value based on the condition of the car, he tells me "I don't want to waste time because that offer is no where near going to work". He then proceeded to get up and walk away from me without saying thanks, giving me a handshake, etc. NOTHING. I had to be the courteous one and shake his hand and thank him for his time. SECRETS REVEALED! Stage 1 Beware of their pricing! They priced their car low to get you into the door and if your not their past customer it's an additional $2000 added on to the car price. That's in the fine print, very sneaky but here's what not in the fine print they add an additional $2000 on to the car price for "certification fee". I asked what's that fee for? And they said it's what we do to make sure the car is running and in good condition. Never heard of this BS. So what ever their car price is, expected additional $4000 on it. Stage 2 Beware of their finance rate! They will first ask how much you willing to pay each month then they adjust their high rate accordingly. Whatever they say it's a lie. Here's what they usually do once they check your credit score. Even if you have great score in high 700s or 800s they come back with a high rate of 4% - 5%. Even though you are qualified for much lower rate. This is how they make additional $2000 of interest rate. Stage 3 Beware of credit application! Very sneaky dealership. As soon as you step in the door they ask for your driver license, social security, etc. They don't want to show you the car first as it's a waste of time for them. Once they run your credit then they feel like you are in their hand. Do not give any info to them, and if you don't end up buying a car from them make sure you check your credit for any fraud attempts by them using your info. Just to qualify this I'm not taking about a small price difference, more like $6k swing on a used auto. In addition the sales team was rude. I have a Nissan dealership in my hometown. I negotiated with them for 2 1/2 hours and ended up walking out the door without a deal. I took my lessons learned from that experience, did a whole bunch of additional research, and then used Nissan's website to find what other dealerships had the car I wanted in stock. This dealership had the car. I emailed them that I could pay X and if they agreed, I would come in and buy the car immediately. We exchanged a few emails and then I made a deal over the phone with the sales manager. I made the trip to the dealership and closed on my new car (Nissan Rogue Sport) that night. AVOID THIS PLACE!!! BUYERS BEWARE!! I had purchased a used 2014 Rouge from them and the transmission blew 1.5 years after purchasing the vehicle. I was told by the dealership that my car was not fixable and that I would need to get a new car. I wanted to finance a 2016 Rogue and was given a form to sign to run my credit. I thought my credit was only going to be ran 1 time, no it was was ran 6x. This ruined my credit for 2.5 years and I finally just got my credit back to where it was back in 2016 when this whole mess started. The manager Abbey that I was working with convinced me to lease the car and to put down a $5000 deposit using my credit cards (which is illegal). She said that the dealership would cover 1/2 of the damaged car and that I would be responsible for the other half. She than told me that if I wrote a positive review for the dealership she would take care of me by waiving a certain fee and giving me a car camera. I ended up being stuck paying for 2 cars over the course of 3 years at $645.99 per month which totaled to the lease and what I had owed for the old car. The dealership did not cover the half of the damaged vehicle like they said they would. Since my lease was coming to being done the dealership reached out to me to make an appointment to come in to look at new cars, the general manager Chris called me at 8:30 pm on a Friday evening, who does that? I had already confirmed my appointment for Saturday earlier that day with a secretary. I had a family emergency and couldn't make it to the appointment that Saturday. I reached out to a secretary who told me I could come in at any time to drop off the car since I was returning it due to my lease being done. As I pulled into the dealership with my husband I was met by two gentleman who brought me inside to complete my paperwork. As soon as they found out I was not buying or leasing a new Nissan through them the whole thing went downhill. The manager Abbey that I had worked with before told me that the dealership would not take my car back and I had to return it elsewhere. I had to go 30 min away to another dealership to complete the end of my lease process. I have filed complaints with Better Business, Fair Trade Commission, and Nissan directly about the unfair illegal practices that happen here. read more

Initially my experience wasn't great. I was dealing with the sales person named Kyle who was phenomenal. Kyle definitely went above and beyond to ensure that my experience was second to none. A short time after I purchased my 2019 Nissan Ultima I took my son back who purchased a Nissan Sentra. Kyle had since been promoted but put us in touch with Monica who was amazing. My son had recently been struck by an intoxicated driver and we were already on edge having to buy a new car and having dealt with the trauma of the accident. They said our minds at ease and took care of us like I had never had an experience before. I would highly recommend dealing with Route 33 Nissan as they ensure that their customers are treated like family. Total price scammers!!!!! Never do business with this dealer. Found a vehicle on Carfax, drove an hour to get to this dealer. Sat down with the Carfax sheet that said certified with seven-year warranty. Sales person was extremely arrogant. Asked for a manager, young woman came over identifying herself as a manager. Started negotiating the price and then they added a $2000 fee for certifying the car and a $3400 fee for the warranty. Negotiated the price down again, and finally settled on a deal. Sat there and did all the paperwork 3/4 of the way through signing, the finance guy offers me a warranty. I said it was included in the negotiations. He said no that's just seven year 100,000 mile powertrain and nothing else. I said that the woman manager said my warranty was included. I asked for her to come in. She then informs me she remove the warrantee in order to get the price lower. Now they want to charge me additional for the warranty after we had already gone over all the payment information and had most of the paperwork signed. Then she says do you want me to go to my manager and see what he can do. I said I thought you were the manager. At this point I was so fed up after being there for over four hours, and now they are playing games. I ripped up my paperwork and walked out. This place is a joke. No wonder why they haven't sold this car in several months!! Most dealers can't keep them for more than 2 weeks!!! read more

I know everyone feels unsure about bringing their car in for service for fear of them finding other things that need repairing/servicing/replacing. Well, at Rt 33 Nissan you do not have to worry. I went in for an oil change and 30,000 mile checkup. From the tech who greeted me to Ken at the service desk I felt listened to and cared about. My concerns were addressed, checked out, and discussed. Everyone was super friendly and made me feel very comfortable and at home. The waiting area has coffee and bagels, tv screens, and wifi. Ken came to me midway to share the tech's findings, and we discussed my options. He was very open to hearing my thoughts about wanting to wait to have some of the suggested services. I know the next time I go for service that Rt. 33 Nissan is where I'll be going! read more

The below happened to my mother: I had a TERRIBLE customer service experience here; a member of the staff was intentionally dishonest and condescending. On February 22nd, I went to Nissan to buyout the lease on my car. After I agreed upon the price with the salesman, I met with Dave Braude to discuss the financing. He tried to sell me a service contract and after some back and forth, he talked me into buying a 4-year contract by saying it was only an extra $9 a month, despite the fact that I was still under the manufacturer warranty. Dave also never told me the price for the vehicle service contract, and didn't give me a copy of the contract that broke down the costs. Later, I went back a second time for the paper copy, because he never told me how much the contract cost and discovered I was paying $995 extra. Dave was so incredibly rude and ageist, and said to me "you should know the price and you never asked for it," - which is not true at all. Then I asked him why he didn't give me copies of the service contract with the cost breakdown, and he said "and "it maybe didn't get printed," but I believe he did it intentionally to deceive me, as a female and older Asian woman. I will be pursuing further action if this issue is not resolved. Thank you. read more

So, they have a car listed on the website for $6,888. I drive over an hour to get there since I'm very interested in the car and test drive it and I'm ready to buy. The sales manager Christian had another guy take me on test drive and when we return he goes and tells the manager (Christian) to draw up an offer. The price of the car (listed as $6,888) is NOW $10,900!!! What? Gives some spiel about well that's with tags, taxes registration etc., which comes to approx. $650. So what about the other $3500?? This place is a racket. BE PREPARED TO PAY $4,000 MORE THAN THE LISTED PRICE IN HIDDEN FEES. Waste of 3 hours of my time PLUS gas and tolls. SAVE YOURSELF THE TIME AND AGGRAVATION read more

Total scammers. Avoid them at all costs!!! Do not waste your time going to this dealership. They advertise a price then add Bogus costs by 2k. I still negotiated a price and brought the car home only to find scratches in the windshield. When I test drove it I didn't see it due to all the sales writing they had on their. I thought it was just dirt until I tried to clean it off. They knew it was there but sold it anyway with out saying a word. Of all the Nissan Dealerships i"ve been to, this one is the worst. read more
