I suggested they cut the mats close and a few weeks later we could groom them as normal. They refused and told me to pay the extra amount or come pick them up. Well, I don't pay the normal amount and expect them to be TORCHURED much less pay more for that. I picked them up. . Please, if your dogs are anxious about going there, maybe they aren't being taken care of the way they should. If I could rate less than a 1 I would.

After handoff of our dog with the young blonde employee with our dog in our walker harness and leash, we went to the car to unload the 2nd dog, and instead had our 1st dog go darting across the parking lot. No lease, no collar, no harness. He then proceeded to run terrified through the huge parking lot and across 4 lanes of busy traffic on Indian Ripple Rd. The employee then stood on the sidewalk and said 'oh, he won't come back to me' and just stood there. We were finally able to find him and corner him in a back yard nearby (after hurting ourselves to get to him with the fence). The staff absolutely did not give a damn about the safety of our dog, didn't make any attempt to get the dog after their negligence, and then acted like nothing happened (nor were they in the wrong). If our 2 year old, 30lb pup was hit by a car this would be an EXTREMELY different conversation, police report, and insurance claim.

The first time was for a weekend and only a few days. We were happy with the way our dog was taken care of and how they were able to fit our dog in seeing they were full. The second time we were not happy at all. We dropped our dog off May 6th 2025 and picked him up after 9:00 am on May 12th 2025. I brought his food and a blanket with us because he is so attached to my husband and wanted him to have something with his dads smell on it. Just so he would feel comfortable while we were gone. We arrived to pick him up the lady at the counter asked if he was scheduled to have a bath and we said yes and she said OK. We paid and she asked for his collar and leash and she would go get him for us. when he was brought out to us his ears were back and He had brush marks in his fur with the strong smell of doggie cologne. (I thought it was just the smell of the dog shampoo until we got home.) She told me he had not ate yet this morning. I said OK I will feed him when we get home. When we took him outside to load him in the truck, he peed a long time then ran to the grass and pooped telling me he had not been out yet that morning. I told the lady that we had a blanket and she said oh let me go get it. She brought it out to me in a bag and said it was in the washer waiting to be washed. I said that is ok I will wash it. the blanket smelled and had something on it not sure what it was. The odor was like it had laid in the bottom of an outhouse. When we got home, he ate right away. He held his ears back for most of the day and was not his playful self. We went outside and came back in and I smelt an odor that was so bad. I cleaned out my trash can clean the garbage disposal. Still the smell was ungodly. Then I bent down to hug my dog and there it was. As a dog owner maybe, I spoil my dog too much and many may not think it is a big deal, but I feel like my dog laid in a cage for 6 days in his own feces. Just a side note our dog has never peed or pooped in the house. He would hold it until someone got home. telling me he pooped and peed in the cage because he had no choice. This is the reason I waited a week before contacting them because every time my dog looked at me, he had sad eyes and I felt so bad for what I let my dog go through. My heart was breaking every time I looked at him. I know if I would have talked to someone the moment I found out where the smell was coming from (by the way we paid for a bath) that I would not have a kind thing to say. all I have to say is shame on the staff at Tannenberg!!!! After speaking to the owner and hearing her tell me what Tannenberg offers and what she expects from her staff I would have written a different review if that was the service my dog received. With that being said I will not be using this business again. I hope this helps open the eyes of the staff and helps them to better themselves and helps fill the expectations of the owner. Also that the owner takes this to heart and fills her staff with people who really care for pets the way a pet owner would.

PSA: Dog abuse at Luna's Dog Grooming Salon…read more Today at Luna's Dog Grooming Salon, I witnessed a disturbing situation. A groomer with pink hair was aggressively shoving a large golden doodle down in the bath because the dog wasn't cooperating. By not cooperating, I mean the dog was completely shut down (scared) and not moving. She had both hands on the dogs body and was shoving it down about 4 times in a way that looked similar to someone giving CPR. When she noticed me watching, she quickly looked away and avoided eye contact. I immediately reported what I saw to the woman cashing me out who just said she would tell her manager. I went back in to speak with the manager directly. She said she would inform the owner of the salon. I asked for a follow up from the manager and they said they have my number. The salon has cameras that should have captured everything. Despite this, the employee was still allowed to continue working with the same dog. When I expressed concern and suggested she be removed from handling animals immediately, the response I got was: "We're probably going to put the dog up anyways because she isn't doing well." As I sat in the parking lot, I saw the same groomer outside with another dog. For context, I was only there for a nail trim, and the rest of the staff seemed friendly. But the lack of action after reporting clear mistreatment is very concerning. Personally, I would not feel comfortable leaving my dog in their care. In addition to that, if you know anyone who has a dog groomed here or more specifically the owner of the golden doodle please have them reach out to me. It sounded like they were going to call the dog owner to pick up the dog since it wasn't cooperative. This was between 1230-1pm.

Then I get an email telling me that due to a bordatella outbreak there (this was during the past week) that they could not accept any dogs now. I wrote another email a couple of days later, asking for an update to which they didn't respond, nor did they respond to a Facebook inquiry. I think this was a made up excuse not to accept my dog, esp given that the bordatella vaccine is required, but I am clueless why they wouldn't take my little toy fox terrier/rat terrier mix who they never even met. And, also to say there was a bordatella outbreak, which they never explained or anything. Mainly, just very, very, disappointed. :(
