One of my go-tos in the area. It's a casual diner serving breakfast/brunch and lunch, but with much higher quality ingredients (often local where possible, like bread from Fornax) and better menu offerings (you can get your usuals of course, but also tasty cheffed-up versions like blueberry/marscapone/pecan pancakes, and it seems like from-scratch is their rule and not an exception). I've never had anything bad here, and their prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. And the service is friendly and quick, whether you sit at the bar, a table, or are ordering to go. All around a great option and one I recommend to anyone. I do hate how there's no way to place an order online/ahead of time, though: there seems to be a broken link on their website that hasn't worked for years, which means you either have to call ahead (ew, annoying on both sides) or go in and place the order at the bar and wait (OK if you have time to kill I guess). I am a huge fan of this local spot. The food is wonderful, the service is professional. The ambiance is local and the few of us who know of it without living in the exact neighborhood. Those who know me know I am an eggs benedict afficianado. It is one of the go to brunch items I judge all brunches by. I like the sauce here, it is good and plentiful. I have never had such plain and bland food in my entire life. This food has absolutely no salt or peppers. Eggs taste like a speckle of butter but I promise there's not salt or pepper. Here's why I love Rox Diner: I'm not a diner/breakfast fan, but my husband and brother are. I don't love the feeling of having a huge and heavy breakfast that makes me want to sleep all day. Which is why I *love* Rox Diner because they have something for everyone -- the G.O.A.T. is my favorite -- poached eggs on baby spinach with goat cheese crumbles, smoked salmon, avocado, multigrain toast (from Fornax -- amazing bread) with red and green hot sauces. Meanwhile my husband gets a special like the lemon ricotta pancakes with hash browns, sausage, bacon, eggs, etc., and I get a satisfying taste of his. Rox is one of the warmest and most welcoming places in Boston (I know it's West Roxbury, but still...). The food is amazing! Try the Farmers Market Omelette with the best fresh veggies. My favorite pancakes are the blueberry, pecan, mascarpone. Melt in your mouth! The family that owns Rox will make you feel as though you are family! I didn't catch the owner's name but she was phenomenal very attentive their wait staff also great! Solid local diner that I will be definitely coming back too. I got an omelette and my friend got an eggs Benedict. The omelette was very cheesy, filling, and tasty! I also was obsessed with the home fries. I was full for about half the day after this well priced breakfast. Service was pretty quick and friendly! I've been going to the Rox Diner nearly every Saturday since moving to the area in 2016. Came here because they had great reviews on Yelp and they have gluten free options. They were very accommodating to my dietary restrictions that they even cooked the potatoes separately and had gluten free bread. One tip to readers make a reservation I didn't realize you can join the waitlist on Yelp which will save time when you get there. It gets pretty packed quickly. We got there around 10AM on Sunday and it did slow down a bit towards 11AM but I'm pretty sure it picked right back up. I got the cornbeef hash which was so good! It was so well seasoned and potions were more than enough. My partner got the Fine Dine Breakfast Sandwich and I quote "it was more than fine" - we will excuse the pun but overall from the servers to the food I would 100% recommended. read more

Followed yelp suggestions and visited here Friday morning while in the area. We had tried once before but wait was too long so going on a weekday is a plus. A bit classic and old school, this has a neat cafe/diner kind of feel. Nice breakfast menu and even Bloody Mary's on the menu. I went with a traditional Western Omelet that was cooked perfectly and quite tasty. The potatoes were even better than the omelet. I ordered a side of marble rye toast and it was good but needed a bit more butter but my fault for not asking for more. My wife had the Bloody Mary which was okay and I had a delicious coke. Service was quick, place was busy and prices were fair. On street parking can be tricky but I'm guessing locals know some secret spots. read more
