This was the kids meal. Two cheese burgers. It was awesome.

I love this place. Good food with a friendly staff in a comfortable setting. The thing is that they have really good quality food sourced locally. The menu is extensive for breakfast, brunch or lunch. So many choices. I had the farmers omelette that was delicious. I am sure they pickle their own pickles. The sourdough bread was fabulous as well as the potatoes. I need to go back for lunch. They had a house made vegetarian burger with sweet potatoes and black beans. I get it's the bomb. Good find.

Visiting town from Florida for work and stumbled across this charming diner! The amazing Rebecca was my server and she was fantastic! The 90s r&b jams was the cherry on my sundae. She asked my name from the start and used it the whole time, nice touch Rebecca! I ordered the G.O.A.T and side of fries, simple and perfect! And just get the pancake when she recommends it, you won't regret it I got mine to go for dessert later

Great diner although it can get busy! Prices are good and the staff was friendly. Items we ordered (as of 8/2022) - The Big Rig - $14 - Pancakes were phenomenal with just the right amount of sweetness. Crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside! Eggs were cooked to order perfectly as well. Great value for the price. - Grilled Reuben - $12 - Darn tasty. Corned beef was delicious and the size was great for the price. Got the cole slaw as the side which was okay but nothing special. I'd get fries next time. Overall for the price you pay this is a great location for a fantastic brunch.

Great specials, great mimosas, and pretty sure they dump a bottle of vanilla in each Belgian waffle (an A+ idea in my book).

The eggs, Benedict. I asked that you have grilled English muffins and they were grilled to perfection. The food was 20 feet from me. When It came out it was hot and fresh cooked perfectly. All the white of the egg was cooked. The yellow was just runny enough. We got onions in our home fries and they were grilled Just perfect as well. The coffee was never ending the hubby ended up getting the Scott special which has three eggs, sausage, patties, toast, and red home fries potatoes. This is definitely a hidden jewel in Dedham. I'm probably making a mistake putting on this review because people are going to find it and I will never be able to get in the door again. The servers name was Jane. She was out of this world right on top of everything. Our coffee cup was never empty. That to me is the best part of any meal going out. Looking forward to coming back. They are closed from July 2nd to July 18th for vacation also. Check them out u won't be disappointed.

We walked into a space with an old-school charm that fit the name, the kind of place where regulars gather for breakfast and coffee. The interior had a warm, lived-in feel with counter seating and vinyl booths that added to the retro energy. It was not a trendy brunch spot, but rather a reliable diner that focuses on hearty comfort food at reasonable prices, and the steady flow of customers reflected its popularity as a morning staple. Breakfast is the main reason to visit. We ordered a few plates and found the pancakes standing out immediately, arriving light, fluffy, and large enough to be a meal on their own. The eggs were cooked well, the bacon came out crisp, and the home fries had a crispy exterior with a soft, fluffy center that paired well with any breakfast plate. The corned beef hash was another popular choice, especially if we were looking for a more filling meal. The menu offered plenty of variety beyond the standard breakfast combinations. French toast, omelets, Eggs Benedict, muffins, and lunch items like sandwiches and salads provided enough options whether we were stopping in early or visiting later in the day. Portion sizes were consistently generous, making it easy to leave full or even take leftovers home. The service matched what we hoped to find at a neighborhood diner. Staff were friendly, attentive, and kept the coffee refills coming without making the meal feel rushed. The restaurant could get busy during weekend mornings, so a short wait for a table was common. One thing to keep in mind is that the diner is cash only, so it is worth planning ahead before your visit. The team moved through the room with efficiency, and the food came out hot and well assembled, keeping the pace of the meal steady even when the dining room was full. Overall, 50's Diner is a dependable choice for a traditional breakfast. Between the large portions, classic comfort food, welcoming atmosphere, and reasonable prices, it is the kind of place that earns repeat visits and remains a favorite for anyone looking for a simple, satisfying diner meal.

PATTY MELT REVIEW…read more Iconic diner on the edge of Chinatown, a couple blocks east of the Expressway. It's been around for decades and it's open 24/7. More of an authentic this-place-has-aged feel than the typical diner attempt to evoke an earlier era. Went in the morning and went for a patty melt-- because I could. It's too elusive these days, so being able to not only find one but have it at breakfast, a double win. Double patty is standard, not an add-on, and fries (probably frozen, but lengthy, crisp and fluffy) are included. No onions, no rye, but lettuce and tomato-- a non-traditional configuration. Nicely browned patties that had juiciness. The ingredients weren't anything to write home about, but the execution was great all around and so was the cheerful service from a seasoned veteran. Sure, I've had better with the proper rye, griddled onions, and higher quality beef, but an easy 4 stars for the execution, value, vibe, and being able to even order a patty melt before 10 in the morning. Bonus points for a plastic ketchup squeeze bottle that was slightly warm. Breakfast items (eggs, crispy home fries, and pancakes) on a neighboring table looked good.

South Street Diner was one of the few places open that early, so I decided to give it a try. Parking was easy at that hour, and I thought it was kind of cool seeing a classic diner tucked in among all the large office buildings downtown. I was in the mood for pancakes and ended up ordering the diner special with eggs over medium, home fries, corned beef hash, bacon, and pancakes. Unfortunately, the food was mostly average to below average. The eggs were a little underdone, the home fries were slightly overcooked in spots, and the toast was pretty standard diner fare. The homemade salsa was actually a nice touch and added some flavor to the potatoes. The biggest disappointment was the corned beef hash. I was hoping for something homemade, but it reminded me of the canned version I grew up eating. The texture and flavor just weren't for me, and I ended up leaving most of it behind. The pancakes were okay but a little dense and doughy, nothing particularly memorable. On the positive side, the coffee was decent, the service was fine, and being open early is definitely a plus for travelers. Overall, I'd put this one close to 3 stars. It's convenient if you need breakfast before sunrise, but the food didn't quite live up to what I was hoping for.

I came on a Tuesday before noon there was no wait and the place was half empty. We were seated quickly but waited a long time for our food. We started with the cheesy tater tots. They were good. 4 to an order is kind of small but they tasted good. The cheese sauce was reminiscent of velveeta. For mains we got the gochujang chicken sandwich and the pastrami sandwich. The chicken sandwich was cooked well and large in size but underwhelming in flavor. The pastrami sandwich was spicy but had a lot of flavor going on but wasn't memorable. The waffle fries were hot and crisp with a nice seasoning to them. Served with a big half sour pickle. I would go back and try other things. I can't make a full judgement on a sandwich at a place that specializes in brunch so I would try it again. I think this would be a super fun spot to meet with the girlies. It had a few flight options on drinks that looked interesting.

Literally! I was TODAY years old when I learned that Forest Hills Diner has some amazingggggggggg food. I flew in this morning to check on my grandmother and decided to grab breakfast with one of my best friends before heading over. She had been raving about Forest Hills Diner, so of course, I had to go. It was early in the morning, so the foot traffic was slow. The restaurant was very clean, and as soon as we opened the door, the gentleman behind the counter was very welcoming, offering a warm greeting and a big smile. As I was at the counter exploring the menu, I was excited to see the variety of options offered. There literally was so much to choose from, and I wanted one of everything. LoL! However, I decided to get the Beef Smoked Sausage on an English Muffin with Home Fries, add Onions, Extra Onions, Well Well Well Done... The Beef Sausage was well done and juicy. The smokiness was super flavorful and let the natural beef flavor shine, yet it held its own lane as well. The sandwich also had a generous portion of meat and was well worth the price. The Home Fries were absolutely amazing. They were done the exact way I ordered them. They were very well seasoned and the crispiness of the edges paired with the softness of the middle, OhEmGeeeeeeeeeeee... I want more now. LoL!!! As I was eating, the foot traffic definitely picked up, and it was so heart-warming to see the guy behind the counter welcome people by name as they walked through the door. This is a representation of TRUE service. The kind of survive that you don't see anymore. Not to mention, the charm of a local spot where the people know your name. Ha Overall, my experience at Forest Hills Diner was superb. Not only was it an experience worth promoting, but it was also so amazing that I will ensure I come back whenever I am home and in the mood for breakfast. The go-to will be Forest Hills Diner. Food.
