I preordered my meal 30 min before arriving so that I can just pick it up and go along my way. When I arrived I find out that their website had issues and that none of the orders were processed which means I have to wait for another 20 min for the food to be cooked. Sort of disappointed but nonetheless my food would be fresher than if I had picked it up later. My family has been a regular, weekly, customer at your Murrayhill location for the past 10 months since my house fire left us with no kitchen. Tonight I brought home dinner for my family and every order was wrong. I called the store and explained that I had ordered 4 Kalbi Rib dinners and received 4 plain grilled chicken dinners. The girl on the phone said "The ticket says ribs, it was a mistake in the kitchen. I can give you a voucher for 4 meals." I said "I will walk back, please put in the order for the ribs, and I will pick them up now." She agreed. When I arrived at the store, they got the shift lead to help. He printed a receipt for the wrong order while I stood there. I asked him to please pull my receipt from the stack by the register. He refused. Then the shift lead insisted that I needed to bring back the wrong plates even though I showed him a photo. I explained that there had been no mention of bringing it back, and I can't keep walking back and forth from home. He insisted that I had only paid for the chicken. So I went back tonight. And they were out of chicken. So I got teriyaki beef and Kahlua pork. And while I went for the chicken, I was not disappointed. Also, it was soooo busy. Roxy, you've lost your way. When we first discovered you ~8 years ago, your shoyu chicken had unexpected flavors that amazed us. Your Katsu chicken was light, moist, and amazingly tasty. Your sauces were perfect additions to complement. My first time back in about 2 years was on Monday (don't live in the neighborhood anymore). Shoyu chicken was barely shredded chicken thighs, dry, with barely any flavor other than some clearly cheap & generic teriyaki sauce. Never again. The Katsu chicken was almost black (old oil?) tough and gristly. No flavor from the breading or chicken at all. Never again. Your "combined" sauce which used to be good teriyaki sauce with Sriracha now has minimal to no recognizable flavors of either. You have packets of generic Sriracha which tells me all I need to know. You've gone cheap. +1 star for the Mac salad which is consistent. All of this with a huge price increase: 1/2 & 1/2 order with a 20 oz bottle drink (no more soda fountain either) is $15.50 Never again. Sorry. You used to be a regular go-to favorite for the family, but you've very much lost your way. read more

Super nice go to place if you're looking for a nice lunch. I usually get to go orders for the kalbi ribs. They're delicious - but I know it's a basic order. Sometimes they're a bit more burnt. But the people are always really nice. I would recommend grabbing a guava drink to round out the meal. read more

Roxy's Island Grill is a pretty popular eatery and close to where I live. During these days of COVID, I refuse to give less than three stars to any business because they are all struggling to survive and deserve our support. Having said that, Roxy's food is fairly "authentic" according to other Yelpers but I've never been to Hawaii so I can't say whether this true or not. I'll take their word for it. I have to say the kalua pork was very good, if just a tad dry, but the flavor was what I expect kalua pork to taste like. I'd definitely order it again. Hawaiian food is a carbohydrate junkie's dream! I know it's cultural but I don't get the two scoops of rice and scoop of macaroni salad on the same plate (sometimes doused with brown gravy). It's kinda like ordering a baked potato with your French fries. A healthier meal could be made by subbing salad/veggies for all that rice and pasta so there are a few better choices. To each his own. If it's a burger you crave, try the one topped with mac & cheese. A group at a nearby table raved about theirs while I looked aghast. Service was efficient and we got our food quickly. If you love carbs and huge portions, Roxy's Island Grill is for you.
