My favorite chicken teriyaki place of all time. I've been going here since 2013. I was pretty skeptical since it was on a business area, and just an odd location. But this was the place all my co-workers were getting for lunch. When I had it, I understood why. They no longer make the free soup, but the food is always fresh and delicious. The way the chicken teriyaki has me in a chokehold, I will say, I haven't seen any that can compare. The guy who runs it with his wife is so kind, I believe his brother location is in Wilsonville, I will say this is best Rice time In my opinion. If you want good food and the best bang for your buck, you should try it! read more

Sorry I use to come here a while back and it's changed dramatically. I went on lunch hour and the place was empty so that was the first red flag. I know it has new owners but the food quality is not what it use to be. Very greasy/oily and for $13.00 you think I'd get chicken. I got like 6 little slices and the noodles were like rubber. I can't recommend this place and I didn't end up finishing my food due to the oil. read more

Surprised by all the good reviews. My chicken was dry despite all the oil. Not pleased with what I got for $20. Was starving so I ate it all, otherwise it would of gone back. **UPDATE** Just spent the last half hour fighting a bout of food poisoning. This oily substance woke me up from a dead sleep at 5am with extreme reflux that lead to expelling from both ends. Eat at your own risk! read more

The lunch special for $10 was mostly rice with a few tiny strips of chicken. There were no napkins or sauce packets in my "to go" order. Service was not friendly at all. I won't be back. read more

My fried rice had almost no flavor & the chicken was dry. I think they had used plain white rice with some vegetables & chicken thrown in. Plus they charge $1.50 extra for egg in it. Any other place that serves fried rice has never charged me for egg... The egg rolls were amazing but the gyozas also had no flavor, I think they were frozen/store-bought. Cheap frozen ones. Side salad was just lettuce with a cup of ranch dressing on the side. The walls were splattered with sauce or something, everything we touched had a sticky residue. Our feet stuck to the floor when we walked. Ranch bottles were left out to grab & warm to the touch. It was almost 6pm & empty, I think there was time for them to clean. The only saving grace: the service was pretty great & our food came out fast. Plus, my husband really enjoyed his General Tso chicken & white rice. I do feel bad leaving a poor review, but I trusted the positive reviews & gave this place a shot & don't want others to come in expecting anything extraordinary. If you are low on time & don't want to make dinner at home, sure, it's fine... But otherwise, you will be disappointed. read more

I tried this place first on Uber Eats and have become HOOKED! It's about 10 minutes away from the office but everyone has an order for me when I say I'm going or ordering to have it delivered. Between myself and my coworkers we have tried about half the menu and have not found anything lacking. The food it always so darn fresh and tasty!! Teriyaki chicken, a must have. Egg rolls, yes please. Their salads and dressing, you better believe it. Everything is well portioned and delicious. A week hasn't gone by since I found this place that I haven't had something from here. read more

This place is kinda close to us, so it's nice to have a go-to Chinese place close by. The couple who run the place are super sweet! They had us order our food and then told us we could wait in the car and they'd bring it out to us. Fantastic service! Good Chinese is hard to come by. So three stars isn't terrible, and we'd come back when we get a hankering and don't want to drive very far. We got the bong bong chicken as an appetizer to see what it was. The sauce was what impressed us the most! I mean, the chicken was just fried chicken, but the sauce...whatever it was, was so, so good! We also got bacon fried rice because why not? But I generally only like Thai fried rice and forgot this little fact about myself when ordering the bacon. It tasted like most fried rice, which I don't generally like. But if you like Chinese fried rice, you'll like this! It wasn't overloaded with soy sauce either, so it was much healthier than other versions. My husband got the spicy chicken yakisoba and enjoyed it. Definitely a good place to go to for a work lunch, and it's an excellent location in a business park. read more

I had hesitated ordering take out from here for such a long time. That has been changed and it is now a go to. I rarely get yakisoba from places because rarely do I like their noodles. These were wonderful! I have also tried their chicken teriyaki, egg rolls and gyoza - all were delicious! AND, they have Dr Pepper...this, for me, is a huge deal...you do you but I'm a Pepper. Their portions are sizeable for the price which is always appreciated for something which reheats super well. read more

I saw the sign for a cheap lunch special as I drove past this place on Nimbus. I should have kept on driving and went to the nearby Panda Express instead. I was generally very unimpressed by everything. I tried the pot stickers along with the chicken teriyaki special. The self-serve salad didn't look very fresh or appetizing, so I skipped it. The soup was bland and some of the veggies tasted a bit old. The pot stickers appear to be store-bought, but they're not even as good as the ones at CostCo. The white rice and unseasoned chicken with teriyaki sauce were edible and cooked correctly. I saw the words "passable" and "serviceable" being tossed around in other reviews of this place and I'll apply those to the main course and pot stickers. The dining area was clean and well-kept with lots of 2-seat and 4-seat tables and free wi-fi, so it's very appropriate for its business park location. The people running the place were friendly as well. Finally, there's this large mural of the wild west frontier that felt a bit off. Animals getting enticed over the smell of themselves being cooked on a BBQ just feels wrong. If there weren't people in the way, I would have taken a panoramic photo, but I'm probably never coming back anyway to finish the job... Not bad, not great. As I work nearby it's nice to have somewhere within walking distance to pick up a quick lunch. The staff here is friendly and they do take call-in orders! They have "free soup" and kimchee that you can serve yourself prior to meal arriving. It's not that great unless you are THAT hungry. My food was cooked and served promptly. I ordered the spicy veggie chicken and am wishing I had taken some of the sauce to-go with me. It was not spicy at all. The chicken was all dark meat...meh. Too much cabbage in the "veggie mix". There really was hardly any chicken at all. Pretty much all cabbage. Crappy. Overall the portion was large. Each meal is served with a salad as far as I know. Is it just me or did the salad dressing have the slighest hint of root beer? Odd. The prices are average. Approx. $7 for a meal. Being this was my first time in trying Rice Time, I would come here again but advise in ordering something else. The Yakisoba looked good. read more

Super nice couple! Food is freshly cooked, portions are great. The yakisoba, teriyaki beef, and shrimp tempura was delicious! Don't sleep on the salad either, it was a cabbage, carrot, lettuce mix. The salad dressing tastes like homemade ranch. It was a tasty surprise when salad is usually an afterthought. Will definitely be back to try more items. The mural inside was awesome! read more

I would give five stars if just judging food. But we ordered off the Uber app and the combo meal we ordered had a photo showing the fried rice , spicy pork, Tso chicken and salad in box recyclable container. Instead of that packaging --as shown in photo on Uber--the combo arrived in tons of styrofoam. Please change your packaging so we can make your food a regular in our life! Excited about the leftovers tonight but not excited to toss all of the styrofoam. read more

This place has become a favorite of ours. We discovered it a short while back and have since placed SEVERAL orders. The orange chicken is our favorite and my son also enjoys the teriyaki chicken. I also learned that if you choose the steamed veggies as your side, you get those IN ADDITION to the white rice that it usually comes with. I was pleasantly surprised at that! When comparing specifically, this orange chicken, to others in the area, I would say this is better by far. If you're looking for a new Chinese food option, give Rice Time Oriental Grill a try! read more

This place is pretty good for Chinese "fast food". The eating area is clean and large enough for lunchtime crowds. Prices are reasonable. Portions are decent for the price. Pleasant, fast order taking. It's a little out of the way if you aren't familiar with this business park. There are several good lunch options walking distance from Nimbus. This is certainly one of them. read more

My 17 yr old LOVES this place and if he were doing the rating, we'd be right up there at 5 stars. But he's not. He & I stop into this place once in a while for lunch (they are a WEEKDAY only LUNCH joint). They won me over on FREE broth soup and kimchee on a day I had a bad ass cold. Then they pleasantly surprised me with a their generous tender and tasty teriyaki beef plate - it was less than $6.00 and comes with rice and aforementioned cold remedies! Bargain price for pleasant service and a bizarro interior in the midst of big business park off Nimbus. I like the people who run it, I like the price and my son thinks he's died and gone to HEAVEN. Five Stars for the industrious and talented couple at Rice Time Oriental Grill. My employer opened an office near by in Nimbus. I gotta say, since the fist order, their fried rice/tofu has been delicious. I've tried a few other items on their menu. My mother and myself have not been disappointed. They are constant in freshness and it shows every time I place an order. A well established business with many years at same location as other have pointed out, it is tucked away. The ample parking makes for a fast pick up. A hidden Gem for tasty nurishment and timely service. :) read more

This place is tucked away in a business area and is frequented by a lot of employees that work nearby. They serve the best Kung Pao chicken in my opinion. I've been coming here for the last 14 yrs and will continue to come here. I would pick this place over Panda Express any day. The portions are huge and they provide free soup and salad which is self serve which you can eat while waiting for your food after you place your order. Don't be surprised if your order comes before you have had a chance to finish either your soup or salad. Their cook is pretty fast so your order comes super quick - literally a few minutes wait which is a plus when you are hungry or have a short lunch. Delicious food in minutes! read more

Food was very good, full of flavor and the right amount of spice. This is probably one of the hidden gems of the Tigard/Beaverton area. Not a large menu, but the quality of cuisine makes up for it 100 fold. This is one of my all time favorite teriyaki places around here. They give a pretty good portion and the salad dressing is the best which is only 4.95 if you want to buy to take home. Even comes in a bottle for you. They have pretty cheap lunch specials all the time. If you find in its free soup and salad. Also try their special spicy teriyaki sauce there. It's amazing! Serviceable lunch, but nothing to write home about. My $7 Yakisoba was worth about $3.99, Typical reheat job. My other complaint is they didn't have root beer. I know that's not an issue to most people but I drink about 1 soda a month and I like root beer, Not on tap and not in the cooler. It's walking distance for lunch and the roads are snow and ice. Next snow storm I may give them another try but no reason to make a special trip. read more

I love this place. They have great General Tao chicken (though I liked it more when it had zucchini in it). I don't know what's in their salad dressing but it's AMAZING. I've actually bought some to use at home before. The workers are nice and nice to my kids. If it wasn't so far from home I'd be there all the time! read more

Called in a Order said 10 minutes, get there and it is busy. 6 "SIX" people that order after me got there food before I did. I was then late to a meeting. In addition, The food was overcooked and dry. Oh Yeah and there was hair in the order See picture!!!! That is GROSS, Nice Work Rice Time!!!!! The space was nice to sit down with friends and loved ones for a bite to eat. We came starved, so we practically ordered the whole menu hahah. Nigiri: the salmon was superb. Very sweet, melt in your mouth, perfect mouthfeel! That was our first bite of the day and it really set the tone for the rest of what we ordered. We then had the kanpachi, madai, escolar, and ikura. I really enjoyed the madai and the escolar. Those were both buttery but had a great texture/chew. The kanpachi was fine, I wasn't expecting it to be slightly charred, but that's a personal preference! Next was the ika and the Hokkaido scallop. The Ika was delicious! Everywhere I go I always order the ika, and the Ika here was just as tasty and chewy. They added a shiso leaf with it, giving it more of a different flavor profile, slightly spiced/bitter. But I quite enjoyed that. The Hokkaido scallop was soo incredibly tasty. It was soft, bouncy, and sweet! No fishiness that can sometimes be found with scallops imo. Lastly for nigiri we got the spot shrimp. I thought this was just okay, similar to how I felt about the ikura. Not bad but there were better hits with the nigiri we ordered. Rolls: hamachico was my favorite roll we got out of the two. The yellowtail was so light tasting it almost felt like a palate cleanser with all the food we ordered, it was really good I'd order this again! The lobster roll was okay, I think the chunks of fried lobster on it was great, the base was like a slightly more elevated California roll as my partner described it. It was overall good. Negimaki: this was so so juicy with each bite and full of flavor! Would definitely order this one again. Lobster karaage: the breading to lobster was spot on. These were large fluffy chunks of lobster with just the perfect amount of crunchy breading. Paired with the spicy mayo and the tartar sauce- so delish! Miso soup: it was packed with clams, enoki mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, scallops, tofu, etc. the pot was PACKED. I didn't even get a photo, but I absolutely loved this. I'm not really a miso soup girl, but seeing how much others raved about it, we had to order it and I'm so glad we did. Best miso soup I've ever had! Portion was normal, tons of vegetables and FOUR slices of chashu meat, which I was already amazed. Soup was thick but not salty at all. Aji tama was perfect. The price is reasonable ($12 per bowl, no matter what favors of soup bases). The front line people always made sure to keep the bar table clean. It really reminds me of family own ramen shops in Japan. Thanks for the delicious food. We want to come back again for different spicy levels of ramen, as well as the appetizers.
