I was going to give this place a 4/5, but because of the fact that I got a hair in my macaroni salad, I had no choice but to take away a star from this place. When I walked back inside and showed it the girl working there, she was at least apologetic and offered to give me a whole new plate for free, but I hate wasting meat so I said no and only asked for another scoop of macaroni salad instead which she kindly gave me for free. I ordered the shoyu chicken and it wasn't the best chicken I've had from an island themed restaurant, but I definitely enjoyed it. I think this place has nothing on Hawaiian Style Grill in Vancouver, WA which I recently had and was leagues better but this place is enjoyable at best. I was doing a favor for a friend who lives near Roxy's and they suggested it would be a good place to pick up dinner. I thought the food was tasty, I really liked that I could order two different types of meat to try. The staff was very nice and happy to answer the few questions I had. I chose the Shoyu and the Kalbi chicken - both were well prepared. You get a choice of sides, I opted for double mac salad per my friend's recommendations. I can't say enough about this location. Its my favorite - if your not in the mood to wait, order online on their website and chose the time you'd like it to be ready and its done and kept warm. They also offer deliveries as well. A few weeks ago, we got my step moms birthday dinner catered from here. Teriyaki chicken / mac salad & kalua pig, it was prepared on time and one of the employees were nice enough to help carry the trays to the car. We continue to receive great customer service here. I have been here and the Walker location many times and both are ok. Favorite entrees are garlic fried chicken and shoyu chicken. Can't go wrong with the garlic fried. It's always the best. If they have 'em, get a spam musubi and eat it while you're waiting for your food to be cooked. They are delicious. Well... Unless you're not a spam fan, then perhaps forgo it... Lol. I love a good musubi. Reminds me of childhood lunches and picnics on the beach on Oahu with my cousins. I also order the chicken katsu, though this is hit and miss. Sometimes it's overdone and doesn't have good flavor or texture. Sometimes it's done perfectly. Get this with a side of gravy and pour it over your chicken and rice. Yum! Entrees are served with rice and mac salad and for a slight upcharge you can sub a side salad. Teriyaki sauce, hot sauces and mixed Sriracha teriyaki sauce station with portion cup lids. Just ask at the counter for your sauce cups. The service is great here and always with a smile. I like Roxy's and typically go for the Loco Moco or the Orange Chicken, but I have to be honest, it hasn't been the same since the original. I heard the original owner sold the chain. I've always been a fan of their Teri burgers and I know it's cooked to order and can take a while, but I was surprised when the cheese wasn't melted and it wasn't hot. It was still good, but our buns were pretty dried out and started to crumble apart early in the meal. I can't say I'll get it again, but I typically get the loco moco or orange chicken. It's been a while, so I hope it has t changed. Still a big supporter of Roxy's and hope I just caught them on a bad day or something. I was at their Aloha location about a week ago, ordering in-person. They had a sign about staffing issues, so I expected to have to wait a while despite there being only a couple of other customers in the store at the time. The store got busier and they do a reasonable order-by-phone business, so I waited, and waited, and waited (paying more attention to my phone than I should have). But AFTER AN HOUR I went to the counter and asked about my order, which they hadn't gotten to yet. After another 15 minutes and some lackluster apologies I got my order and an offer to comp me part of the meal. Was craving some Hawaiian food while taking a day trip to Portland, Oregon! The wait was 5 minutes, there is no indoor seating. We ordered the pulled pork with rice, crispy garlic chicken, spare ribs and the very last spam musubi! All of the entrees come with Mac salad. Which is delicious!!! A nice little spot in Beaverton. I've been here a few times and haven't been disappointed at all. We love their food, their Mac salad is delicious, and the portions are perfect. You may not think the portions are big by looking at the box but you'll be surprised when you open it up and see. Customer service has always been friendly and have always enjoyed interactions. The biggest bummer about Roxy's are their hours of operations. They close so early :( they close at 8 o'clock, you'd think that during a dinner hour they'd step open until 9 but it's unfortunate it's at 8. Straight up don't order from them using third party apps. First order was wrong, ordered a replacement order an hour before they closed, they ignored my order and never made it. Takes a bit of time, but I guess it is worth it to have something that isn't premade. After ordering a garlic chicken, I sat down to wait. It was interesting because one of those weird Japanese game shows was playing on the screen. It was mildly disturbing. I had to evert my eyes while I ate to ensure that my food stayed down. Definitely an appetite killer, but I guess some people like a little entertainment with their meal. The garlic chicken was pretty decent. It used to the cool, yummy Hawaiian joint where you felt like you were getting that real, authentic lunch plate that Hawaii is famous for. I used to go crazy for the garlic chicken. But the portions have gotten smaller and the quality has gone down. 808 Grindz up the street by the new DMW is WAY better and way more authentic (they got poke y'all!). Chicken was on the dry side on multiple occasions; likewise with the burger in my hamburger steak (which was significantly noticeable given that it was smothered in gravy and was still dry). Ordered two spam musubi, and they were flavored very differently... like one was sauced and the other one wasn't. Just somewhat inconsistent in that regard. It still doesn't make sense to me that they don't take phone orders. They sort of force you to come in, order, then wait around, which can be hit or miss if it's lunchtime and there are a handful of people inside. To be clear, the food is decent enough to satisfy the usual cravings, if there aren't other options available. But honestly, my glaring review was before I realized there were a lot of local options in the greater Portland area, many of which I'd choose over Roxy's at this point. read more

Whenever in Beaverton it's always a must to stop in to Roxy's for me. If only we had one in Portland! Not sure why this place had so many terrible reviews because the staff and food is amazing. Almost everything that I have tried at Roxy's is good. We came in on a Saturday during lunch time and luckily it wasn't too busy. It didn't take long for us to get our food after ordering. Today I ordered the Kalbi short ribs plate. Their plates usually come with two scoops of rice and mac salad. I'm pretty picky when it comes to my mac salad and Roxy's definitely gets my approval. Their short ribs are soooooo good. Perfectly seasoned and cooked. I hate when places overcook ribs, but Roxy's does an excellent job of not overcooking them. Roxy's is where I go to treat myself. The food here is amazing! My go-to dish is the sweet garlic chicken. Perfectly crispy chicken pieces smothered in an addicting garlic sauce. Their mac salad is also to die for--I could eat bowls of this stuff. You get a ton of food loaded with awesome flavors without breaking the bank. The good: The people are always very friendly The chicken is good, I've had three kinds but usually get the terriyaki. The rice is usually good The macaroni salad is always good and normally I don't like heavy mac or potatoe salad. The green salad is decent with a delicious dressing. I've gone to a couple other teriyaki places in the area and overall this one is the best.
