I just had Roxy's today for dinner and I'm returning the star I took back a month ago. The kalbi chicken is the way to go. The brotha working the counter gave me loads and loads of chicken. I wonder if the boss saw herself she would be mad for hooking it up. Watch out, its still cash only even though there's a sign that says accepting credit cards soon. I've had such a terrible experience here both times I've been here. They not only skipped my order but gave me the wrong order. Waited 45 minutes to get the right order. The staff were rude about the situation, even tho I was very polite. This the best Hawaiian grill around. I have never had a bad meal here. Kalbi and the Katsu are the best. Never dry chicken, the rice is always fresh and the Mac Salad is absolutely perfect. Forgive my tardiness, as this review is a few weeks overdue. When I plan to visit Portland and Beaverton, I prepare for the two inevitable: Spend money (tax free shopping, woot!) and eat eat eat! I still think about Roxy's on a regular basis. The food was bomb dot com. And sad that I ate this on my last day so I couldn't go back for more. I ordered half sweet garlic chicken and Korean bbq chicken. So I'm not a big fan of chicken unless it's deep fried, but OMG Roxy's know how to make some damn good chicken!! The sweet garlic chicken was not too overly sweet which made me hesitate getting this, but it turned out to be very good. The Korean BBQ chicken was so very flavorful and not salty at all. This is by far the best Hawaiian food I've had outside of Hawaii. Take me back!!! read more

Great place to eat for a cheap eat! Each meal is around $7.50 each. However, don't expect a nice restaurant setting as it is set up more like a cafeteria with around four tables for 4 and three tables for 2. You order and pay for the food before sitting down to eat. I noticed a lot of people came in for takeout. Ordered two of the items on the menu: 1) Kalbi chicken - A little bit dry, but I like the very very slightly charred taste and it is well seasoned. 2) Sweet garlic chicken - Very good, but be aware that it will taste very salty towards the end of the meal. read more

Another office favorite! The sho yu chicken, garlic chicken, teriyaki chicken, orange chicken, pineapple chicken are all staff favorites. Musubi is one of my favorite things EVER, which Roxy's has in abundance at $2 a pop. I love that they put in the mirin or whatever sauce is used in there, gives it that yum yum pop. I usually order 8-10 meals when I come in, and they've occasionally charged me a "service fee" in the past for the number of plates I've ordered (if it's more than 10?), so keep that in mind if you're picking up for multiple people. We do appreciate being accommodated though! read more

Stopped by for pickup on a Monday evening after work. Friendly service and free samples were a plus. But they did seem a little backed up and the food came out rather slow. Probably waited close to 15 minutes. Got the loco moco and my wife had the short ribs. Both really good flavor and quality. Generous portions and tasted more authentic and quality than L&L. I've definitely had my fair share of Hawaiian short ribs and teriyaki chicken all over the west coast. Have tried most of the local competition. Roxy's is not bad, although not the best I have ever tasted. Kalbi Short ribs were a bit over-charred, I don't mind a little charr but some pieces were almost inedible. The macaroni salad is decent even though I believe their biggest competitor up the street has better flavors all around. The teriyaki sauce has excellent flavor, yet it is very thin and a bit on the runny side. Togo orders are packed in eco-friendly plastic, which is better than normal plastic. The usual sauces are available: teriyaki, rooster, and soy. The establishment is small, a little run down and with some inside seating available. It wasn't overly busy at 3 in the afternoon on a weekday. Easy parking and prices and portions are about the same as anywhere you go, I wouldn't say it's cheap, but it's not overly expensive either. The chicken was delicious and cooked just right as is the rice. Entrees are not served over a bed of plain or pickled cabbage. The wait time for my order was around six minutes. All in all Roxy's is good, but not quite my favorite. Staff was friendly. read more

My first time eating here. Heard some good things about this place. Good location and ample parking lot that shares with the bowling alley next door. So we ordered the Sho-Yu chicken plate and the Teriyaki Burger with fries. The chicken was moist and good....its fork pulled chicken or shredded, some parts I got was pulled from the bone. Quite tasty and came with 2 scoops of rice and mac salad. I enjoyed it and would definitely get it again. The Teriyaki Burger was pretty good too....comes with a pineapple and swiss cheese on top. It doesnt have any sauce on it, so you have to add it. They have squirt bottles of sauce you can add. The burger was a burger, nothing special I enjoyed that as well and no complaints there. The fries are unsalted, so you will have to salt them yourself or use the sauces. I think both of this costs about $12.50 total....totally affordable for what you get and good portion sizes. Went in late afternoon before normal dinner time....had to wait about 10 mins or so as they cooked my meal to order. Saw other Hawaiians there so I was happy about that. I've wanted to try this place for a long time and finally I did. This place reminds me exactly like some of the places I've seen in Hawaii, once you get away from the tourist areas. This place used to be so good. I was introduced to this place last summer and have been going on my "cheat days" whenever I could. But as time went on, the quality plummeted. Many of the staff members are rude, my "thank you, have a great day." Are usually met with eyeing me up and down like I've just said something out of the ordinary. The portions of food are ridiculous. For near $12 a meal I expect more. I've found hair in my food twice now, so that's saying something. I was obsessed with their kalbi chicken and Mac salad. But the Mac salad is now 90% Mayo & the portion of Kalbi chicken is laughable. My order is continuously wrong and I'm done giving them chances. Truthfully, it isn't that hard to give people what they order & wear hair nets, especially during COVID. For good customer service and authentic Hawaiian food try In Da Cutz food cart.
