In town for vacation. Was in the mood for some good Hawaiian food. Looked on yelp and found Roxy's. Put in the address on my gps and it brought me to a chick fillet. Starting to loose hope I pulled into the strip mall across the street. Did a google street view and found Roxy's behind the strip mall I was in. I could see it from where I was parked. First hurdle resolved. Driving up to the parking you can smell the tasty bbq. It was still smokey outside. But the bbq flavor was strong. Decided to get the kalbi chicken plate which came with two scoops of rice and a scoop of macaroni salad. Also got a small side order of their pulled pork. I went in and placed my order. They got phone number to call me when it's ready to pickup. As I walked out the exit door to get back in the car and wait. Less than 5min I got a call indicating my order was ready. The chicken was full of that tasty bbq flavor. Not over powering but just right. The meat was charred just right. Went very well with the steam rice. The macaroni salad just topped it off. Perfectly seasoned. The one scoop wasn't nearly enough. Maybe a extra size of the salad next time around. The pulled pork had a lot of good bbq smoke flavor to it. Unfortunately it was on the overly salted side. Not sure If this portion we got was towards the bottom of the pan maybe? Even with rice I find it to be just to salty to enjoy. Disappointing because it was really flavorful. I'll be adding this place to my list of eats next time I'm in town again. I would like to try some Other items on the menu. Usually I don't complain. But this is the fourth or fifth time over the last 3 months that I get incorrect orders. Every single time I go inside and order. First 3 visits I ordered a specific combo- 2 scoops of rice and 1 scoop of the Mac salad only to get something else like no Mac salad and instead veggies. Another order I ordered 2 scoops of rice and 1 scoop of veggies and instead for 2 scoops of Mac salad and 1 scoop of rice. Today around the 2pm I went in again ordered one plate half garlic chicken and half Kalbi chicken. Not only did I get garlic chicken ONLY but they didn't even give the other half of the portion that would've of Kalbi chicken. Then to my dismay I called to inquire about retuning to the store that's a good 10 mins from my home, to get it corrected but they don't have a live person answering it's an answering machine, so I left a message. I just to questions (1) how can someone call or give feedback (2) how do we get our order correct for future visits? I don't want to be that person that gets their food all tightly wrapped in a green bag just to unfold right then and there pulling my whole order out and opening it to ensure it's correct. Food is AMAZING here! Yes, it is a bit of a wait at times, but definitely worth it. They're chicken meals are very decent portions for a great price. They usually come with two sides. My personal favorite is their macaroni salad: creamy but not too heavy. The only thing is that the place is a bit small. I would suggest getting it to go if you are not a fan of small crowded places. I don't know how it's taken me so long to review Roxy's considering this is my go-to lunch spot in the Beaverton area. Large portions and the meat ALWAYS tastes fresh and delicious. I've probably had everything on the menu and don't have anything negative to say. The inside is super casual, smells amazing, and they have outdoor seating if the weather allows. My favorite is the Shoyu chicken! They recently introduced the Char Siu chicken, and if you haven't had it, HAVE IT. It's like Teriyaki chickens hotter cousin. Each main comes with two scoops of rice and mac. If I'm opting to be healthy, I substitute veggies in place of all the above (breaks my heart, too) but if I'm letting loose a bit, I'll get one veggie, one rice, and one mac. UPDATE 5/27/20- Roxy's owner reached out, informed me there was a location closer to my house and they will honor my Mac Salad that was forgotten with no hassle!! Then the manager of the store on Mcloughlin called me personally to let me know that he would be taking care of the problem, I am thrilled at the customer service and I LOVE the Ohana experience I get every time I eat here or order out. This deserves 5 stars because the taste of the food is unlike anything else, the portion of meat is out of this world & the Mac salad is the best I've ever had!!! ***original review was 3 stars posted 9 days ago*** I'm going to have to give this a very low rating because I drove all the way out from Southeast Portland to get my favorite Hawaiian food and I asked for extra Mac salad and if they could put it on the side so that I didn't get hot during my 30 minute drive back home. Roxy's is our go-to place when we just want some food we know we love. My favorite thing to order has to be a plate with half shoyu chicken half sweet garlic and the fried noodles instead of Mac salad. I can't get enough of their shoyu sauce and consider buying a bottle every time I'm there. YUM YUM YUM this was my first introduction to hawaiian food since we have none in vancouver and for such a low price, it was some of the best food on the trip! the three of us tried their teriyaki burger deluxe with pineapple and cheese inside and a teriyaki glaze which was sweet and savoury perfection as well as a kalua pork sandwich. Both were flavourful and on a fresh soft bun but my love is definitely in the grilled chicken kalbi with mac salad! It was a huge portion of freshly grilled chicken that was so flavourful but not too salty or oily! It tasted absolutely amazing and we had trouble finishing all the food! Pricewise, it was also one of the cheapest meals of our trip and my desire for Hawaiian food every trip down to the states has only grown because of this wonderful place! read more

The first time I had the dish, it was so perfect! But as time went by, the quality diminished. I remember ordering the plate one time and the meat was painfully, uber SALTY, I couldn't bear to eat the thing (even if I ate it with rice to drain out the sodium). It was that bad. I thought it was an off day, but the dish was like that after other visits. - Loco Moco was kinda over-cooked. It has happened a couple of times. Absent minded inattentive staff had me waiting 25 minutes because the cashier never printed a ticket for my order then I had to be the one to ask what was going on. Who knows how much longer I would have waited unless I asked where my order was. When you see a customer patiently waiting while half a dozen others who ordered after him already got their food it should be apparent that something went wrong. The food was fine as it usually is but this experience was terrible. Eh. Sorta disappointed. I got the plate lunch which apparently comes with two protein options, I chose the pork and the steak with a soda fountain drink. The total came or to $16.75! Are we actually on the island??? I've lived in Hawaii and the prices arent even that steep. Apparently, after asking, the teriyaki steak is $13 and not $9 which is still an extremely high price point considering I asked for half pork. Why was that the first time I ate here...I drive by it nearly every day and always thought I should try it since they always have a line and have been there forever. That says something. So I ordered four different things so we could try a bunch and have leftovers. Their prices are pretty amazing and the food quality is great. Their Kahlua pork is pretty salty for my taste but their chicken, spare ribs and katsu were all phenomenal. We did find that the pork was not nearly as salty when mixed into the rice. We discovered Roxy's driving through Cedar Hills one night and were bummed it was on one of their closed days. We came back as soon as they opened again on Tuesday for lunch, and have been coming once a week since. I've never tasted a better burger in Oregon. Their Teriyaki burgers are so good, I think I could force a few down in one sitting. Don't waste your time with lame-o chain food places like L&L Hawaiian BBQ, they just do not deliver the way Roxy's does! My kids all dig on the Moco Loco's and their Orange Chicken is like nothing I've ever had. I really like their Sho Yu Chicken too. The Mac salad is killer and so are the fries. Really, there isn't one thing on the menu we don't like. You can't beat their prices, either. Their servings are ENORMOUS (as you can see in the pic I posted)! Before going to a friend's house for a double feature horror night, food was to be had. Roxy's was suggested since it was close by and I have yet to go. The place is pretty tiny and was already packed by the 6 PM hour. Luckily after ordering, we got a small table for us 2. The food arrived shortly after we seated and we dug in. I didn't get why my friend ordered an extra side of Mac Salad at first. When I tried my first bite, instantly I realized this was probably the best Mac Salad I ever had in my life. I immediately asked for the seconds after I finished my portion. The chicken with extra spicy sauce is indeed spicy. I went back and forth between the mac and chicken alternating hot to cool. With a little more better seating and maybe late night hours would be the best spot Cedar Hills has to offer. I doubt anywhere else in terms of Hawaiian food can compete with the Mac Salad. Okay, da hubby and I stopped here for lunch a couple of days ago. He'd never been, but we'd been out in Hillsboro and our GPS is already programmed for Roxy's. (He didn't know that!) He had the Orange Chicken, I had the Kalbi Chicken. Both were fantastic. Served piping hot and 'ono to da max. THEN I noticed they now have saimin! I woulda gotten that if I'd seen it. So here is my first time experience at Roxys that many have highly recommended for me to try. Now I understand that waiting for food is one thing, but waiting for an hour and missing things on my order after I went home to find out it was missing, went back and was told that it was given to me then the staff found out that it was sitting in front of them? So what about taste: After Coming home finally putting everything together well lets see. I ordered a Chicken Katsu with Fries and a side order of Spam and a Kalua pork plate for my girlfriend. Despite the food being cold after me taking a second trip for my missing order. Both my Chicken Katsu and Side order of Spam was overcooked and fairly burnt. There was hardly any chicken and eating is like trying to eat a rubber ball aside from hearing the crusty crunch breading. Fries are fries so I'll leave that for you guys to decide. It seems her food was fine, but I was thoroughly disappointed on my experience overall. For the $25 that I paid in terms of what other variety of food places you can select for your money, this is not far away to being the bottom of the barrel. If you like the famous Zippy's Korean Fried Chicken, then try the (fried) Sweet Garlic Chicken! Most Oregon Hawaiian restaurants offer the standard lunch plates, but Roxy's is the only place that reminded me of the popular Zippy's dish. Their version doesn't have the hint of spice like its Zippy's counterpart, but the texture is similar. Go ahead and try the Shoyu Chicken that everyone raves about (*yawn* to how most of the reviews are mainly focused on this dish) but save room for some fried, sweet, and garlicky goodness! Everything on the menu is GREAT! Sho-Yu Chicken with Rice only is my "go to" but the very first dish I ever ordered was the Orange Chicken. A few months ago I encountered the Sweet Garlic Teriyaki Chicken and when I have time to order it I most certainly do! Fried Noodles to substitute the white rice is a nice kick of spice. Maybe my expectations were too high coming in. My sister and friends have raved about this place for ages so I thought i would try it out. I got the shoyu chicken which is the must have chicken here.
