I wasn't about to make the drive, but I had the most traumatic experience at Dr. Kim in Torrance (check my review for details, if you're curious how that went.). Without a doubt, I knew I had to go back to Dr. Sadri in Foothill Ranch. YES it's a drive (45 minutes or so) but I know I would come out of that appointment without tears or anixety. Yes the fear of the dentist is real ! The minute I get in, I am greeted by the SAME receptionist I saw almost ten years ago - Michelle. She is just a joy to deal with & a breath of fresh air. She handles everything with ease, & I am the anxious one in the office but right away, my anxiety goes down when I am greeted by her lovely personality & calming demeanor. Really ! When I saw Dr. Sadri, it was like seeing an old friend again. He listened to my concerns. I told him what I needed (according to what the Dr. Kim office told me in Torrance). & I was shocked. He said I didn't need two fillings, & one of my "cavities" was just a stain !!! I still opted to get it taken care of, for my sanity. He took care of me & it was so easy. You can tell he's been doing this for awhile because he makes it look effortless (& not at all scary!!). He wasn't pushy at all, & I never feel like I am pressured in any sort of way when dealing with Dr. Sadri. I never feel like I am just a "number" walking through the door like I did at other offices. I was more scared of the deep cleaning, which I KNEW I needed (my last appointment here in 2021 or so, they recommended it, but I was too scared at the time to get the procedure done.) I conquered my fear & I was numbed with this strawberry gel & honestly just felt like a regular teeth cleaning !! Nothing scary about it. The hygienist was the most gentle, compassionate person. For anxious people like myself, she is a gem. Guys... if you're so scared of the dentist like I am, again. Make the trip to Dr. Sadri. There are thousands of dentists in Southern California & they are NOT ALL EQUAL !!!! (most of them are money hungry crooks $$$$$). It's so rare to find an office like Foothill Smiles. My parents have been patients here for around 30 years as well and we've all had such great service with them. I have dental insurance through my company I work for (a DMO), but Dr Lombardi's office doesn't take it. Since I've always been pleased with them, I still go to them for cleanings and X Rays and pay cash. My last visit (two weeks ago), I had X Rays and a cleaning done. I found out that I had a cavity in one of my molars. Since I don't have the extra $500-600 to dish over for a filling, I found a dentist who takes my insurance to fill it (which I had done last weekend -- only costing me $56 out of pocket instead of hundreds). When the front office staff at Dr Lombardi's office found out I was going to another office to get the filling done, they were very rude to me. They informed me that if I go to another dentist to get a filling done, that I'm no longer their patient and I can't come back to their office. I didn't think it was a big deal and I was still planning on going to go to them for my cleanings every 6 months. This morning I received a phone call from Dr Lombardi's front office informing me that they are going to cancel my January cleaning appointment and that I'm no longer a patient of theirs. Say what?! I've been a loyal, cash paying customer for the last 15 years and you treat me like this just because I don't have the money to pay out of pocket for a filling? I worked in a doctor's office for YEARS, I know for a fact that they usually welcome cash patients since they are usually so much easier to deal with than the insurance company. All in all, I'm very disappointed. I lost a great dental office today over nothing. To be honest, my feelings are kind of hurt, but I'll get over it. Beware!
