Before the procedure, we fully disclosed her serious medical conditions, including severe IBS, malabsorption, and immune-related complications that make repeat surgeries and anesthesia especially difficult and risky for her. After the extractions, we discovered that alveolar ridge preservation (bone grafting) was not performed. When we later asked why this critical step had been omitted, we were not given a clear explanation. We have since consulted other dental professionals who advised us that, because too much time has passed, attempting the procedure now may no longer be effective. What is most troubling is that we were never informed beforehand that bone grafting would not be done, nor were we advised about the potential consequences such as accelerated bone loss and limitations for future dental restoration options. Had we known, we would have made different decisions regarding treatment. As a result, my wife may now require additional surgical procedures that she may not be medically able to tolerate. This situation has caused significant physical pain, emotional distress, treatment delays, and financial burden. We are sharing this experience so that other patients -- especially those with complex medical conditions -- understand the importance of asking detailed questions about treatment planning, bone preservation, and post-extraction care before proceeding with major dental procedures. We now have Dr. Vaughan saved in our phones as the go-to for any future dental emergencies, and surgeries that may need to be done. His staff was great, prices were reasonable, and the office was clean and comfortable. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and positive outcome for a stressful event. I usually don't write reviews specially negative ones…read more Review for Dr. Vaughan office Great surgeon, but front office chaos and dishonest price hike are a major safety concern Dr. Vaughan himself was a great doctor, and the surgery went very well for my daughter. However, the front office and billing departments are an absolute nightmare, and I cannot recommend this practice because of them. The front office provided zero details before or after the surgery. Incredibly, they weren't even aware of what medication my daughter was taking, which is a major safety risk. Furthermore, they didn't have me sign most of the paperwork until they were literally wheeling my daughter into the surgery room. They made me stand right in front of a screen to read and sign pages and pages of documents at the very last minute. When I told the staff this shouldn't be happening and should have been handled in advance, it didn't change anything. To make matters worse, the quote they gave me back in February was completely dishonest. I was quoted $300 out of pocket, but they later changed it to $400. Every single time I requested an explanation, the stories kept changing. I dealt with two people, Kim and Clarissa, and the story changed four different times between them. Clarissa first claimed the $300 was "per tooth," which made no sense because I specifically asked for the total cost. Then later day Kim claimed the price had always been $400 for DRF, only to later into 1 1/2 later I requested to look into it and she change her story again and say the price just went up. So which was it? To top it off, Kim sent me an email two weeks after the surgery explicitly stating they were not going to honor the first quoted offer. For me, it is the principle of honesty and integrity that matters, but those qualities are completely missing from this office. I did aware that why I asked for what will be my total cost out of my pocket. If you decide to come here just make sure you have it written down prior and on the day off. $100 extra cost is no big deal. Just be aware. I told them while I was signing, that hope I didn't sign my life away since I was not clear minded after my daughter is wheeling in the surgery and here I have to standing here reading pages and pages for your paperworks, which you shouldn't have given to me the mins during my daughter in the surgery room. Regardless I like Dr. Vaughan if wasn't because if this changing billing stories. Will I be referring family or friends for wisdom teeth done? Not so sure due to the front staffs. The surgery went well and so I am happy for my daughter. Still not fully 2 weeks into her recovery yet. Cross fingers that she doesn't have to return for anything else. Thx you Dr. Vaughan! Front desk team need more guidance in my opinion!

When I met Dr. Kim, he was professional, clear, and straightforward. He explained my treatment options concisely and also pointed out potential risks related to my other teeth. After discussing everything together, we decided to take a conservative approach -- remove the wisdom teeth first and monitor the other teeth to see if they could recover over time. I really appreciated being involved in the decision-making process. The surgery itself was excellent. It was my first time receiving anesthesia and having teeth extracted, and I can honestly say I felt absolutely no discomfort. Dr. Kim removed both wisdom teeth efficiently and skillfully. (Yes, I could hear the drill and some hammering sounds -- which was a little funny -- but I felt zero pain.) After the procedure, I followed the instructions carefully, took the prescribed medication, and applied ice as recommended. It's now the second day, and I have no pain at all -- not even noticeable swelling. This is actually the longest Yelp review I've ever written, but I truly felt it was deserved. The surgery quote exceeded $3500 with insurance. I went to seek a second opinion with another periodontist and was told by him that my GUMS WERE FINE. He said that there were no issues regarding my gum health and that the intense surgery, involving bone grafts, recommended by Towne Centre Dental was TOTALLY UNNECESSARY. I was shocked, as I was fully prepared to proceed with this costly and highly invasive surgery because I was told by Towne Centre Dental that it was absolutely necessary and that not following through with the surgery could result in tooth loss. The second opinion periodontist reassured me that my gums were fine and that the diagnosis and suggested surgery by the periodontist from Towne Centre Dental was completely unnecessary. Now, this would be shocking enough. But, there's more. I was sharing my story with colleagues at work. After hearing my story, a teaching colleague said, "Wait, what dental office was this?" I told her that it was Towne Centre Dental. She then proceeded to tell me that the SAME THING HAPPENED TO HER, SEVERAL YEARS PRIOR!!! She was given the same diagnosis that I was and was told she needed the same gum surgery with bone grafts. She also happened to seek a second opinion and was told by that dentist that her gums were fine! So, it would appear that my case isn't an isolated incident. I couldn't be more disappointed in a dental practice. Giving a false diagnosis and telling the patient that they need painful, invasive, and very expensive surgery is evil and morally wrong. Sadly, I love my dental hygienist (Edgar) and the kind people who work in the office. But, I will never ever give this office my business again. I will continue to warn others of their fraudulent practices.

When I was in need of a dentist and was referred here and they took care of me and that was 10yrs ago. I have moved almost 20miles away and i still go to here they still follow up with me, they call me for reminding me of my appointment. The office is always clean, the stations are organized and the staff are so awesome. And then they started to upsell and push a $1,200 cleaning... They were justifying the claim that they look out 5 to 10 years out, also saying they can't do a full cleaning since it will impact the quality of the future specialized cleaning and after they report to insurance I would be locked out and not able to be covered for it in the future if I did not do it today it would be more expensive later over $2k. So of course cleaning was really rushed. I went to my old dentist a month after and they said it looked like my teeth were not cleaned or polished since they last saw me. I sent the X rays/imaging from the visit to a dentist friend and they said it was a very extreme solution for something that can be managed with personal routine changes. They are entitled to their opinion and how they operate as a business nothing against them. This is a heads up if you decide to go in.
