Great food! Kevin was very helpful in guiding us around the menu since West African food was new to…read moreus. Favorites were the rich, thickly textured, moderately spicy palm nut soup with goat and beef, the dark and flavorful waakye rice and bean dish, the chicken suya, and the jollof rice. All the sauces were delicious. The fried turkey tail dish was well-prepared, but not my favorite. Portions were generous and every dish offered great value. We'll definitely go back. Dining in was comfortable but utilitarian and no frills. The pace was un-rushed--perfect for a relaxed and enjoyable dinner, but it wouldn't be ideal if you were in a hurry. If you've never tried west African food, I highly recommend this restaurant.

Not bad! The food was pretty good. We don't have many options in NOVA so for what is, it was good…read more I normally drive out to MD and DC for West African food. This restaurant is Ghanaian. We came here on a Thursday night so maybe that's why everything didn't slap as much as I would've liked. The jollof didn't have a ton of flavor or spice, but they have tomato based pepper sauce a medium and an extra hot that adds flavor and spice to the rice. The meat and chicken was a bit dry and hard. The fish wasn't seasoned much. The portions are big and customer service was kind. They had a fairly big menu. We ordered: Suya rice 8/10 (best thing here to me) Attike w/fish 6/10 Jollof rice with chicken and beef 6/10

This is an interesting restaurant because it serves both Ethiopian food and Central American food…read more When you enter the restaurant, you immediately sense that food is the focus here, not the décor or ambience. Latin music was blasting, and later the TV switched to a soccer game, all in Spanish. We tried a 4-dish combo and a fish dish, all very good - tasty, complex flavors. We also enjoyed the bread (injera, like sourdough bread in flavor) and the rice that comes with the dishes. This is my first time trying Ethiopian food. It reminds me of Indian food with the uses of lots of similar spices and the complex stew dishes. Our server was nice and checked on us frequently. I also got to practice my Duolingo Spanish with him--most of it was lost in translation. It was a fun experience. The fish dish was my favorite.

Ordered the beef kaey, beef tibbs, red lentils (favorite), and split peas over the phone. It was ~$5 more to order online through their website, so I called to place an order-- these hidden convenience fees, man, I'm not about it. Beef kaey- slow simmered all day type vibe. Beef is tender and seasoning is delicious. Savory saucy. Beef tibbs- sautéed with onions, tomatoes, and jalapeños. I got awaze and it's a Smokey spicy sauce that comes on the side. I didn't end up using it. I asked for it spicy - had the slightest kick. Split peas- mild flavor in comparison to both beef. You can taste the garlic and ginger. This wasn't my favorite but it was good in between bites of beef to change up the taste and texture. Peas weren't hard but also not mushy- Red lentils miser watt- I love the lentils here. Super flavorful. Savory and spice forward. Ambiance is casual. They also sell Ethiopian grocery items, like peas etc. The menu hasn't been changed and prices have not gone up.
