Not a fan of buffets anyways but ended up here for dinner. Thought we may have more options considering its halal. I personally preferred the chinese food station and the hibachi was very good. If I could give this place a 0.. a ZERO... I would. The "pay before you sit" is a huge red flag like who even made that a thing? I was only here for 25 minutes. It was a 10 minute wait for a party of 3. This place was very overwhelming, overstimulating, over packed, OVERPRICED. Not a lot of food options. All I had on my plate was rice, two pieces of orange chicken, and broccoli because the chicken - as in chicken broccoli was gone.. not to mention the broccoli wasn't even cooked. The food was pretty good. Atmosphere is good too. Though, some parts of the chair was a bit sticky then you try to pull it under the gap. It's also halal and all-you-can-eat, huge plus. We went here for dinner. There was nobody there, but toward the end it got packed. But they only give you one hour to eat, unlike many places where you get as long as you want. There was only one nice lady working as a server, she had to walk around the whole place which took a long time if you wanted a refill on soda or water. Also if there was little food left you would have have to wait 20 minutes because nobody would refill the food. Also the hibachi worker overcooked the food, it was dry and incredibly chewy. The fried fish and lobster claws was NOT what it was supposed to taste like. The were awful. The good sides were that they had crab legs (it was a small try so it would go away fast and they would take a while) they also had free ice cream which usually would be an extra charge, it was also very quite with soft music. No...just no. This was my second time here. I make it a point to not eat at buffets but just like my first visit when I was with good friends who seem to adore this place, I was with the same set of friends this time. The first time was okay but this time was worse then okay and even my friends who are avid regular customers were not at all pleased with our visits. First of all, it was hot in there! It was around 95 degrees outside and probably around 89 degrees inside .*NO EXAGGERATION* I asked the server why was it so hot. He said 2 of the air conditioners were broke. Really?? What kind of establishment has broken air conditioners on a 95-degree day? Fortunately no one passed out. Problem #2 - it was so nice the restaurant had hand sanitizers at each food station- one in the front of each food station, one in the back and one in the middle of each food station. A total of 3 per station. What would have been even better is if they weren't empty bottles. I literally tried all of them and all of them were bone dry! Problem #3 - they had large serving spoons for customers to use at each prepared meal dish. The issue is that everyone and their buffet-eatin' mommas used that same spoon. THAT, combined with no hand sanitizer is a recipe for influenza, coronavirus or some other type of virus. Problem #4 - they asked us to leave after a certain period of time. My guests hadn't even had dessert yet and there were plenty of seats open, even if calculating proper social distance measures. So why did we have to eat and rush to leave? Yup poor service, unsanitary methods by which guests were serving themselves and a very uncomfortable "Sahara dessert type" of environment. I won't be back. K...thanks...bye. read more

Do you want food poisoning? Do you want to throw up all week? Do you want to be traumatised for life? COME HERE THEN! If not, there are SO many problems that need to be fixed ASAP in this buffet and it probably deserves less than 1 star. They need to hire new people and GET BETTER, or should I say EDIBLE, FOOD. Concern #1: The temperature - I've read mixed reviews about this buffet but DO NOT trust ANY of the reviews that are over 1 star. I went here when it was 90 degrees Fahrenheit (32 degrees Celsius) and there was no air conditioning AT ALL. I asked one of the workers and they said it was "broken", ON SUCH A HOT DAY? It felt even hotter indoors than outdoors! Thank God no one fainted or got a heat stroke, but I was sweating the whole time I was there, even though I wore a short sleeve and jean shorts. Concern #2: The dishes - After looking closely at all the plates, cutlery, and bowls, I'm convinced they don't even know how to do the dishes. EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING, was SO dirty. Scratches and food scraps left on forks, little bits of food left on plates, and bowls kept in a dirty area that looks like it hasn't been cleaned in over 5 years. If the food wasn't good at all, they could've AT LEAST kept the dishes clean. Concern #3: THE FOOD. - Terrible, inedible, raw food. I wouldn't even feed it to a homeless person or a dog BECAUSE IT WAS SO BAD. Most meats weren't even cooked properly, there were not a lot of food options (most of them were gone), and it was BLAND. The only "decent" thing was probably the fruits, but it's only because they didn't make it. (The fruits were probably not even washed anyway and some just tasted like straight-up water) Concern #4: Service - I asked for a drink just to see if it was that bad, since they probably didn't make it, BUT I NEVER GOT IT. I waited for more than 20 minutes and the waiter just completely forgot my friends and I existed. Also, we stayed for just 1 hour trying to find the cleanest looking plates, "best" food, and waiting for our drinks but they just kicked us out! We weren't even FINISHED with our food and they just took it, telling us to get out. Worst service, probably in the whole United States, and YOU WILL NEVER SEE ME GO THERE EVER AGAIN. (Not to mention the price which is ABSURD for what you get) Concern #5: THE BATHROOM - Even a homeless shelter looked better than this. One of the toilets didn't even flush and my friends and I had to tiptoe our whole way in because of how FILTHY the ground was. The mirror wasn't even a mirror at that point and the toilets were full of toilet paper and excreta. The cherry on the top were the toilet seats, which you don't EVER want to see. Royal Hibachi Buffet is a hidden gem in NJ! Found out about this place through word-of- mouth and I am happy to call it one of my favorite restaurants. Luckily, the buffet is all you can eat so I was able to get up from my seat many times and enjoy a full-course meal. I had a vegetable spring roll, few pieces of sushi, some fried rice with chicken, a slice of Italian bread, salmon steak, spinach with cheese, tiramisu, ice cream, and much more! Everything I had was delicious. For those questioning, it was all halal. For drinks, I had a glass of ice, cold cola. They also had tea and coffee available. There was no long line for the buffet but there were a lot of people on a Friday night. Might be more packed on the weekends. It's a great place to have dinner at with family and friends. They also have a separate party room in the corner of the restaurant. The service was par excellence due to the friendly staff. I wish a menu was offered to gain some insight of the buffet beforehand. Some of the stations didn't have all the foods labeled properly. Very Bad. To start I had a variety of foods and everything was either barely acceptable or gross. Fried shrimp bad, gen tso was gross, & rice had no flavor. Even the wonton soup taste like oil water. Then we tried the hibachi which was ok besides the steak that gone bad. We went to desserts...the flan tasted like eggs, the tiramisu was rock hard, my daughter like the strawberry cake, & tres leche was soggy flavorless cake. How are they in business????? Went on a Saturday lunchtime three adults $42.06. Kids under 5 pay too. They make sure you are aware they don't tolerate food waste. According to their paper dispensers and receipt they will charge any left over food. They're don't exaggerate either. Food scraps or left over little bits aren't charged. This is by far one of the best buffets I have been to. It has some of the best Chinese food I've had at a buffet. They also have a lot of different ice creams and deserts. And did I mention the sea food selection, some of the best shrimp and clams I've had at a buffet. But, I'm in it for the Chinese food. They have some of the best lomein, chicken & brocoli, peppered steak, and habachi chicken I've had at a buffet or even at a regular chinese restaurant.
