Underwhelming, motel experience. The Royal Inn has expanded quite a lot over the years, but perhaps they should focus more on maintenance and room upkeep over expanding. I asked for a first floor nonsmoking room, and got assigned to a second floor room with cigarette burns in the sofa. Also, not necessarily the hotel's fault, but the room mist have had a dozen occupants coming and going all night, and it reeked of skunk weed. The mattresses are probably the most uncomfortable I have experienced in any hotel, but at least the linens seemed clean and the kitchen area was clean too. Appliances were in good working order, and although it was too cold for us to go swimming when we stayed, the pool looked well maintained. Ultimately we stayed so it wasn't horrible, but we won't be returning. read more

Stayed at this MOTEL for over a month for work: traveling nurse. Always paid for an another night or more on time and never had a problem.. l up until Thursday evening. Throughout the six weeks at my boyfriend and I were staying at this hotel, we've had nonstop problems with the keys, not working. This would go on until four in the morning where we would have to once again go downstairs and ask the security guard to let us into the room where we were nonstop treated with an attitude Questioning and a couple of times refusal to let us in our own room, which made us stay outside for a couple hours while he got a hold of the hotel manager who we found out later, actually lived on premises. A few of the housekeeping ladies called my husband nasty. He's a nasty white boy. Nasty nasty because his nose was running due to allergies, so he blew his nose into a napkin and threw it away. Which was uncalled for unprofessional, disrespectful, and embarrassing. However, management did nothing to take care of that situation. There was another housekeeper, a young girl who tried to give my husband her phone number because she wanted her "husband" to work on our car. When we did not hire her husband to work on our car, we were given nonstop attitude from her. We walk by say hello to her in the morning she glared us up and down scoff walk away. Every time we would bump in her, she would always be with the other housekeepers, looking at us and talking in the language that they spoke. The first week we were put in a room where the AC constantly broke so they moved us without accommodating us a free night or anything They also never refunded me my hundred dollars and refuse to take accountability for it even though expedia.com and both CashApp have both told me that ROYAL and HOTEL has very much taken the finances and return them to my bank account. The issue that happened last night due to once again the key is not working, and housekeeping, leaving a puddle of oil or bleach or something outside the where we enter our room on the second floor. This resulted in our food falling and ruining $60 worth of dinner. The both of us were agitated due to noises coming from the rooms behind us and the room next to us at three in the morning loud banging noises drills going on. So we went to the lobby downstairs to get our keys fixed and we just so happen to be bickering with each other. The person who had just been hired three weeks ago to fix our cards and made us wait down there for 20 minutes even though he knew we were in an agitated state of mind and just wanted to get back up to our room and relax. Instead, he allowed a new guest to antagonize the situation by one not fixing our keys, which would only take him two seconds to do. And two egging the guest on when the guest would look at us and laugh and make noises and make facial gestures... This resulted in me, getting into an argument with the guest downstairs that just checked it. And it might be known that this guess was then purposely placed in the room right next to us. However, thank goodness that he found himself a female companion to cure his loneliness for three hours of the night because at four in the morning , our door woke us up and smiled at us as he was leaving. What seems to be a "female companion." And funny enough he was gone too after only being in his room for three hours. This place had nonstop, active drug use with one of their employees himself, living on the premises and going up to paying guests as ourselves and asking us if we wanted to buy drugs off of him!! All through the night there would be people entering the property, causing disturbances, screaming yelling fighting, but not one thing was said or done to them. We're no longer allowed to stay at the hotel and we need to leave and that there was a Hey Siri report written about us but yet we're not allowed to see it. We are 37 and 50 years old and a paying customer for a month and a half and yet the manager Shawn said that we have scared customers away, and we're ruining their business even though from what we have seen, we have been the only business that they had, since we were the only guest there in that building (bldg6). If a guest is doing something that the place doesn't approve of, it would be prudent that the facility speaks to the guest and gets their side of the story and instead of hearing the side of the story of one person who used a biased mindset towards us anyway, due to our demographic in comparison to the demographic . I had a late checkin and was told by a hotel front desk staff that my card would be charged at 10pm and a key printed out for me to pick up with security. I arrived after 11:30 and was told by the security guard that I don't have a key for me at the front desk. I showed him my reservation but he fused to look at it and stated he can't do anything. I asked him to find someone who could help, he refused. He finally called someone, I don't know who, and still said there was nothing anyone can do for me. We ended up leaving and finding another hotel. Horrible customer service and management. I will never stay in this hotel and I will tell everyone I know to avoid it at all costs. read more

The place to go for inexpensive rooms. You have to be careful what you tell the office when reserving a room There are many different quality rooms. Some have patios, some are old and musty, some have carpeting and some have tile. I've resided in Royal Palm Beach since 1999 and have visited this hotel approximately 5 to 6 times. I've had better experiences before but this current visit just did not meet the usual expectations. This hotel gets the job done for a quick, affordable, and brief stay. This time around I've had to request new pillows, as my current ones appeared used and suffered of foul odor. There were hair strands, which I can guarantee were not part of my DNA, on the towels and bedsheets. I'd request that a thorough check is completed to ensure cleanliness of the bedding and towels prior to allowing someone booking the room. Stayed one night. Booked this place given the proximity to family that we were visiting. The place is dated and nothing spectacular, but wasn't expecting much given the rate. However, the TV did not work and when we called front desk were told would have to wait until the following day. There was red stains across the mini fridge so obviously the room was not cleaned very well. Housekeeping banged on the door at 8:00 a.m. in the morning. I would suggest if just need a place to sleep for the night do yourself a favor and spend a little bit more to stay somewhere safer and cleaner. read more

Hotel was clean and freshly painted. Staff was nice. Location was good. I was with a group that recommended we stay here due to the price ($66 including tax). I would not stay there again. Personally, I will spend a little more money and stay somewhere where I feel a little more comfortable. This place appeared to have long term guests living there. Not bad... This hotel is decent; it gets the job done. I'm in Florida for work and this is the closest hotel to our job site. It's in a convenient location with many restaurants, grocery stores, and strip malls nearby (most within walking distance). I'm staying in a suite with 2 double beds, kitchenette, bathroom, and living room. It's a nice and homey set up with a balcony that overlooks a pond. The rooms are spread out over several buildings and there are a few different types of rooms. The worst part for me is that the room doors open to the outside - kind of like a motel - and the rooms and furniture seem dated. The best part is probably the pool area, which is spacious and well-maintained. The kitchenette is great, with a full size refrigerator, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker. There are a few dishes, glasses, and silverware in the cupboards in each room. Also, you can request a pet-friendly room and have your dog or cat stay with you. The staff is friendly and helpful. Parking is plentiful and there is a Mexican restaurant (with a large bar and dance area) adjacent to the registration building. Oh, and there's a barber shop too, if that's helpful. Rates in the off-season are incredibly cheap - you can get a room for less than $50/night, hence, why you'll see many construction workers and their pickup trucks here during the summer. read more

We stayed at Royal Inn just for 1 night as we were attending a concert nearby at the cultural center. The hotel is very easy to find as it's located right on the main road and is quite a large property with multiple buildings. Check in was fast and easy and there was plenty of parking right in front of our room. As far as the room goes, we had gotten the larger suite, since there were 4 adults and 4 kids staying in our room. The size was big enough to accommodate all of us, with 2 full beds and a large pull out couch as well as a small kitchen, dining table and large bathroom. The room itself could use some updating, but for the price I wasn't expecting much. The beds were pretty comfy. I did notice a bit of dust and a small bug up in the corner of the ceiling which indicated they could do a bit more cleaning but no other major issues noted. It'd be nice if they had an option for breakfast at the hotel as we didn't see any breakfast spots immediately around town, however there is a pizza hut on the property as well as a few fast food spots nearby. Stayed 4 days 3 nights with 2 dogs (80 and 55 pounds), hubby and me. Staff excellent. Room Price great until extra charge per pet per night as well as refundable pet deposit but understandable. Location is excellent for everything - bars, food, gas, shopping, etc. I do suggest they reconsider advertising for Trees Wings as the quality of their food has gone down dramatically in past few years. Ok funny place. It is attached to an old hotel and feels very dated. The salsa is really great. The service isn't the best that I've ever had, and I gave it three or four tries, but it is above average. The best thing about the place is sitting outside on the patio. The view is spectacular and exactly what Florida dining should be all about. As for the food it's good, priced right, good taste. Nothing amazing, however nothing bad. The bad part is the bathrooms and I know that sounds funny but if the bathrooms are in poor shape it makes me worry about the kitchen. And the bathrooms do worry me. I think that if they remodeled and advertised a little they could be a contender. read more

There's a old guy at the front desk that's super rude. When I walked in and said hi he just stared me down as if I did something wrong to him. Then I tried booking a room and he wouldn't let me because I'm not 21. So I had my mom come in to book the room for three and he still wouldn't allow it. I was visiting for my best friends wedding and stayed here- mind you when I had called to make reservations this past Summer, I requested the hotel to please give me a pool or lake view.. Nope, got a dark boring hallway view. The building had an odd smell to it when we arrived, like something was trying to be covered up by Lysol. The second day we found a cockroach in our room!! Disgusting! Let me preface this review by saying I have stayed here once a year for the past 5 years. This is not a fancy place. But, on each visit the rooms have been clean. Very workmanlike place to stay. Decor is outdated. Noise has sometimes been a problem. Ask to be away from the pool on warm nights. The only room I stayed in and did not like was the one over the Pizza Hut. Rooms are spread out in different buildings. They are also configured differently. The ones with the kitchenettes are my favorites. Do not stay here looking for 5 star quality. read more

Stayed at this hotel for a concert! The room was clean check in was easy and very centrally located. About a five minute ride to the concert grounds! Stayed with a very large group of people! They were able to get all of our rooms together! No one bothered us when we were in the parking lot hanging out after the concert. The only problem that I have is that the pool closed at dark. Can understand no swimming in the pool but they don't let you sit around it, also the tiki bar doesn't open till two! Very strange when they have a big group there! All in all good stay read more

The royal palms inn looks great on line and is very affordable. Upon arrival the inn looks a little unkept but nothing major. There are only a few good things I have to say about the inn. The suite we stayed in a was very spacious and close to our relatives. As soon as we walked into the room, it smelt of must wet carpet covered cigarettes. Our first impression was one of slightly grossed out but figured for the price we could deal with the level of uncleanliness. As we settled into the room on day one, we found the kitchen and bathroom tile floors was sticky, the dishes and utensils were dirty and the carpet felt disgusting on bare feet. When we called the front desk for housekeeping due to a spill, we were told housekeeping was gone for the day at 4. When requesting cleaning products, we were told that cleaning supplies were unavailable but we could go to the front desk to get paper towels. The first two days we had do not disturb on our room so on day three we requested a cleaning early in the morning. We arrived back to our room very late and found our room hadn't been cleaned at all. We called the front desk and informed them of our room not being cleaned after we had requested it early in the am. We were told housekeeping was gone and to wait till the next day. Day 4 upon returning from breakfast and hanging out with family to our surprise we arrived as housekeeping was finishing our room. Excited to see the results, we went in and everything "looked" cleaned. Then we were extremely disappointed when we saw the kitchen and bathroom floors were still covered in dirt stains and sticky. The beds were made but the sheets were never changed and the carpet was still dirty, never vacuumed. The counters were never wiped down honestly I think housekeeping came in , sprayed fabreeze and made the bed with the same bedding. We stayed for 6 nights. I would not recommend this to anyone who is traveling with children and cares about cleanliness. Definitely will not return. I would rather pay a little more for a clean room on be a bit further from relatives. read more

Realized I left my tablet in my room about 15 minutes after checking out. I called as soon as I realized I left it there. I went back half an hour later and was brought back to my room (which had already been cleaned by housekeeping) and it was nowhere to be found. I was told the woman who cleaned the room had worked there for years. Okay, that doesn't mean someone can't steal a $300 tablet that they see left behind. I stayed here while I was at the Florida Rowing Center. I found it to be very convenient to the rowing center and I enjoyed my stay. The rooms were clean, the shower water pressure was amazing and the beds were super comfortable. The staff was very helpful and nice. I would definitely recommend staying at the Royal Inn. read more

I stayed here for one day for a work obligation. Room 307 January 4th. $150. My room was apparently infested with bugs/fleas of some type. We had to throw out my suitcase and computer bag and purchase a new one today. Then rewash all of all the clothes and also treat our dog and household for fleas. I called the hotel and was offered no customer service or apology. Was told to call back on Monday to speak with Rhonda, which I am not confident will result any satisfactory resolution. Good location and good price, but you get what you pay for: shabby room, extension cords stretched so tight they are halfway out of the socket (genuine fire hazard), a dour front desk clerk who neither greeted us nor thanked us for our business, room clean enough if you don't look too closely, broken down mattress, very poor wifi. We stayed here a few years ago and it was awful, but gave it another try because we heard they had updated. It is marginally better, and certainly ok if you only need a night or two. Room is very unpleasant to be in, but pool area is quite pleasant to sit quetly in the morning before everyone is up. read more
