I enjoyed my experience here. This was my honest last attempt at jell nails. I have had jell nails a number of times before with poor results. The jell would chip or bubble within a week of getting it. I have had my nails now for almost a month with no damage. The only issue is they have grown out a bit. I will be returning to this shop for any future nail appointments. The price is what the price is. I do wish it was a bit better seeing as most people, I would hope, tip rather well for a good job done. I have been before with okay service. Yesterday was horrible. Seline worked on me. First she did not fill the pedicure tub up, never asked what type I would like. I had wanted more services. Then I asked for a gel manicure. I asked her not to cut my nails. I told her I was fine them not being the same length. She then proceeded to file them down to the nub. I asked her why and she didn't respond. Then I asked her not to use the drill. She did anyway. Then proceedEd to shove my hands the entire time to the heat lights. Have lived in Kent County for 20 years and, with regards to Nail Salons, I have tried quite a few of them. I don't get anything more exotic than a manicure - only recently moved to gel manicures - or a pedicure, but this is the place to be. It's clean and professional and Erica and her husband know how to run a business. Erica also has an impressive memory with regards to her many "regulars". With other places, you have a hit or miss experience, depending on which person you get. But no matter who I get at Royal Nails, I am very pleased with the results. Poor service...flooded salon floor while they wanted me to pit my feet in boiling water..Wet my shoes and socks then handed me my socks still wet from the flood expecting me to wear them. They made me pay before they finished which is strange...Im not sure the person working on me was licensed. I now have pain where she cut my skin on my toes..I guess they don't want men in there. Do not waste your money. I have gone here 5 times and no experience has been pleasant. The first two times i went my acrylic nails fell off within a week. The next two times i left with thick uneven/bumpy nails. Today Lisa did my nails and i was left with bleeding nails and cuticles. for a place that charges $50 starting it is not worth your money or time. Don't do what i've done and waste your money. I was so happy when my god mother reminded me that Royal Nails had a new Warwick location. It is beautiful! They really did a great job in this space. Everything is elegant and very clean! The technicians are always so sweet and attentive. Their polish selection is huge with coordinating gel colors. They offer discounts and loyalty rewards--it's always nice to save money! Both locations are large so if you are looking to host a girls night/bridal party etc they can accommodate. (I had my wedding party's nails done at their other location). Yesterday I was truly pampered with a relax spa pedicure (included callus remover, 10 min foot massage, hot stones and 10 mins back massage) and I also had a gel manicure it was around $70.00. Worst salon experience ever. It took the technician two hours to fill my nails and do a French. The language barrier was a huge issue. I didn't understand her questions; she didn't understand my answers. My nails are SO THICK, can't even scratch an itch with them because the edges are so blunt and rounded. The white tips are ridiculously thin and look like the were painted on by a child, and the technician hurt me every single step of the process, to the point that one finger was bleeding by the time she finished. By the time she finished, I was in tears and just wanted to leave. I decided to forego the complimentary massage, and having my eyebrows done, as I had originally intended. When I went back two days later to speak to someone about my experience, the manager immediately asked which technician had done my nails. She then called the technician over and told her to fix my nails, as the technician glared at me. It was incredibly awkward. I refused, said that I wanted a different technician and/or my money back. Next thing I knew, a phone was thrust in my face and I was told "speak to owner." The gentleman on the phone told me that he'd refund only half my money "since it was a two-hour job and he has to pay for it." Meanwhile, while I was speaking to him, the technician kept grabbing my hands, without asking, trying to take photos of my nails. So, I don't get a refund because the technician took two hours to do a 45-minute job. I told them to keep their money, I won't be back. read more

Very clean place to start, but if you are in a rush or on a strict schedule to get your nails or a pedicure done I suggest you look somewhere else. Most of the employees are very nice considering they slave all day for the boss who over books and has her employees running around like crazy. Including herself. They book 30 people at a time and have 10 employees to do all of them. They yell at you to sanitize your hands when you walk in, and their gel polish selection is awful. Most of the bottles are empty or close to empty so if you get that one they'll have to literally scrape the bottle. I've been here a few times and it's the same situation every time. read more

This salon is way too overpriced. Every service and every little additional detail costs way more than average in price. To highlight their spa pedicure menu-They offer unnecessary add-ons, in which they will try to Convince you that ARE necessary... and they will relentlessly try to up-charge you. Even if you say I don't need that extra service, they will look at your foot In a judging manor than say "Oh No, you really do need that" as to try and make you feel like the appearance of your feet are so disgusting.. unless you go along with their suggestion/up charging. One of the most ridiculous up charges are the use of essential oil's which do sometimes have holistic healing benefits, however in a foot bath.. not so much... Especially considering that your feet arent soaking long enough/for the suggested time you should do it at home. If you try backing out of some of the services what you had initially asked for at the door, because you didn't know the price, they might roll their eyes and not treat you very nice now throughout the rest of the service.. (at least if your reasoning was because it was too expensive/you cant afford it, ect) and it feels like they are looking down on you. Another reason they charge more than average is because they offer you a free massage, but the massage is subpar, and at times it was so bad that I left feeling worse... like I had to go somewhere to get a real actual massage afterwards. I have lived in five different states, and have travel to many different countries abroad, all where I have had nails services done. My usual services are gel nails, gel toes/spa pedis, and sometimes acrylic nails. I have been to this location and the old location in coventry multiple times, mostly out of convenience (time of day/location at the time). I also used to like how their location in coventry had bows you could glue to your nails...that was nice because it is rare to find unless you bring your own... regardless of any nice experiences I have had here, every time I leave Royal Nails I feel I got ripped off. If you enjoy getting ripped off, or think that it's a relaxing's experience to be pressured to spend more money throughout your visit, then by all means go here. read more

Royal Nails has been my go to nail salon for the last 6 years. I even had my wedding nails and bridal parties nail done here, however since Covid they have gone drastically down hill. I came here this morning, 3/26/22, for a mani and pedi and I left with just a pedicure (if you want to call it that) because I couldn't allow myself to give them anymore money. The pedicure I received was rushed and my feet were in the water for a total of maybe 4 minutes. As soon as I sat down in the chair, the woman started working on my toes, before they even touched water. She clipped and filed my toes, put on the callus remover lotion, put my feet in plastic bags and then in the water...however, my feet were still completely dry because they were in plastic bags. 10 minutes into the pedicure and still no soaking my feet while the water is just sitting in the basin getting cold. The woman takes my feet out of the plastic and spent about 45 seconds on each foot using the tool to remove calluses and give you smooth feet. She puts leg scrub on one leg and then finally put one foot in the water, followed by the next. She rinses the scrub off my feet and legs, then drained the basin and takes my feet out. When I say my feet where in water for 4 minutes, that's being very generous. What is the point of a pedicure if you don't even get to soak your feet a little. At that point I told her I would only be getting a pedicure and I'm sure she wasn't happy, so she rushed through the rest of the service and then sent me to sit and dry my toes. I still gave her a good tip but would have spent double the money and more the double the tip had the service been even the least bit relaxing. My sister who was there with me had a really good experience, because she has Selena and she took her time and did not rush. The only person I would ever go to in this salon is Selena but even then, I will most likely never be back again. read more

STOP using electric drills to file nails and remove gel manicures. The lady who removed my gel manicures did not soak them long enough then started to forcefully remove them and once that did not work she just used the electric drill and basically removed MY NAILS. This is not an exaggeration of the situation. Top of my nails were peeling when I washed my hands. My nail beds are severely damaged and I am not sure how long it will take to get back to the healthy stage. Ladies be careful! They cut my sister in laws toe nails without even asking. she didn't realize until it was to late and now her toes look like stubs , and when I asked if they could do a gel top coat they said they don't do that.
