Called ahead for an appointment for pedicures. Showed up a little early. The place was busy. Waited until our appointment time and they finally told us that they were running late and asked us to wait for not more than 10 minutes and they would work us in. So we walked down the shopping center and came back just as my 10 minute timer on my phone beeped. They had taken 2 other people in our absence. We waited another 10 minutes, they ignored us completely. We finally walked out. They should not take appointments if they are not going to honor them. Apparently they just want to jam as many customers through there as possible - its all about $$ to them and not service. Also the place is small, hectic, not conducive to a relaxing experience. Chairs for pedicures get roasted by the sun in the mid to late afternoon - no air conditioning. Don't bother with this place. read more

Royal Nails did not disappoint me! It was my first time there. My Aunty recommended I go to nail tech, Trung. He was absolutely awesome. He gave me just what I wanted. The place is pretty sanitary from what I've seen, and they do anything and everything that you may want done. I also decided to get my eyebrows cleaned up while I was there too and had Ana. She was super quick and did my eyebrows so good!!!!! I was probably done in less than 4 minutes. The only reason I rated this 4 stars was because I was doing my nails for almost 3 hours. It's a good thing I wasn't in a rush, so i was fine with it but I'm sure others would have gotten a little antsy. This place seems to be a little bit of a hit-or-miss. I have been coming here for over a year, and I have to admit that some of these jobs or a little bit strange when it comes to customer service. They're most definitely seems to be a cultural barrier. Usually, the staff are kind and say hi as you walk in the door. Other times you feel a bit rushed and the sales pitch, if you even call it that. They want you to sit and do your nails almost immediately and sometimes I feel a little bit rushed. Growing up in Hawaii we used to make fun of the little Chinese stores around the corner that sell manapua and treats, how when you walk in they have their hand out ready to grab your money before you even put your items on the counter. Coming here, sometimes brings back that feeling, when marketing and customer service wasn't too important I guess. The place is clean, and they seem to do a decent job. However my last 3 manicures fail to last longer than 2 weeks. It started falling apart before then, and I still gave them the benefit of the doubt and returned a few more times. However, the last time it was only one week and the nail polish came off. I have to draw the line, if you're going to pay good money 4 a manicure, the product has to be equally as good. I have to reduce my stars, because of this. I have decided not to have my nails done here anymore for the immediate future, perhaps I'll come back since it's so convenient. I haven't got my nails done in maybe 5 years. Dont know why, lol but anyway.. I was searching up Nail Salons that were near by and came across Royal Nails in Kapolei. It was in the area, closed late and had reasonable prices. I called the day of, asking if they had any openings that day and i was greeted nicely and luckily there was openings. So i made an appointment for 7:30pm (they close at 8pm). I ended up running a little late, so i gave them a courtesy call and they said it was no problem. I arrived there 10 minutes late and signed in. It was busy as hell in there! lol. I picked my color and probably only waited 2 minutes to be called, the service here is in and out - i liked that! And i noticed a lot of the workers here were consistently greeting their customers coming in and going out. So i liked that too, that they acknowledge their customers! So i wanted acrylics. Medium length, square shaped. Paid $25 + tax. My nails were cut, filed and buffed. I didn't get the name of the lady that did my nails but she was gentle with my nails, asked what i wanted, offered me but didnt pressure me to choose which powder i wanted and conversated with me. Fast forward, i loved my experience here and how my nails came out. My nails looked little squarey at the tips after the polish was put on but eh, they were all even and clean so i didn't want to be nit picky. By the time i was done with my nails and was getting them dried, it was already 8:30 and i was the last person in the salon. I didn't feel rushed or that i was a bother. The workers there kept apologizing for taking long when really they were fine and it was no problem to me. I kept thanking them for taking care of me and providing great customer service. Left the salon and was thanked on my way out. Its been 3 days since i came here and my nails are still in good condition. I recommend this place! Went to Royal Nails on March 25 had my nails and. pedi done paid $120 the next morning March 26 caught my flight to Vegas while on the plane 2 of my nails came off (this was gel nails not the reg nails ) got home and called them what are they going to do to compensate me I'm sure nails last longer than 24 hours. I never leave this place disappointed. My favorites are Mai, Tina and Anna however I believe everyone here is good. Personally they get better every time as they get to know you better and personalize your visit. They also remember you even when you call. They genuinely thank you for coming and know exactly how long you haven't come, they still remember your preferences and check to see if you still prefer the same or would like to try something different. For the most part Mai and Tina have never been pushing with the upgrading of products and services they offer which can be very uncomfortable at other places I've gone. Keep in mind they are super busy with their regulars so I highly recommend an appointment even with that have some patience cause you may still need to wait but for me it's worth it read more

The worst nail salon I've ever been to, was told it would be a 20 minute wait. It was busy so I understood, they finally call my name tell me to sit at a station, sat there for 15 minutes, moved me to another station where they started my nails, told me I had to move AGAIN because they had an appointment, sat down at the other station and waited another 15 mins. Went there yesterday to get my nails done for my wedding day. I'm not one to complain but because it's my WEDDING DAY nails, I had to say something. I've never had a bad experience but yesterday I did. I told the nail tech I didn't want gel but she kept insisting I do because it lasted long, so because she made it seem fitting, I gave it a try. NEVER AGAIN! I showed her a design I wanted. Very simple. French tip on one, full polish on two, and glitter on my ring finger. It was horrible and she really thought it was nice. So I told her to redo my nails but instead she just adds more gel polish to all of them and made my nails so thick looking! It's like she didn't want to do them so she thought she could just get away with doing a half ass job! Poor service! She made snarky comments about my eyebrows NEEDING TO BE DONE and kept questioning my color option I wanted for my nails, and when I told her it was the color of my theme she LAUGHED and said it didn't matter. Such a bitch!!!! The owner did redo my nails and instead of the original tech apologizing, she shook her hand like she didn't care and left. This nail tech is trash!!!!! I had to tell the guy that did my nails to reshape every single one. I got coffin nails and the tops were all slanted! Horrible! And a couple of my nails weren't aligned with my real nails. I was greeted with warm welcome but as soon as I sat into the chair, the nail tech didn't want to do the pedicure and asked someone else to do it. I felt that was very rude and should have gave me a reason cause I felt very conscious after that. Just not a great feeling! After a few minutes I shrugged it off and hoped that the person would provide the service I needed but the nail tech rushed the job. Nails were clipped crooked and very uneven and paint was done poorly it left bubbles. I purchased a deluxe package and it literally was done so quickly. Most places that I go to will have your feet feeling so smooth but this didn't even come close.. I also had a manicure done and same service--rushed and clipped crooked. The tools they used was pulled out from a rolled up paper towel which did not give me a comforting feeling that the tools were properly sanitized. Since I was in the Kapolei area yesterday, I decided to try Royal Nails for the first time. I have a regular nail salon I go to by Pearl Highlands. Anyways, I went in as a walk-in. Out of 6 employees working @ that time, only 1 actually said hello and to sign in. There was another girl already waiting before me. The wait was about 15-20 minutes. The nail tech who started my fill was so quiet. Small talk not needed. I asked her to trim down my nails a little, which turned out to be more than i asked for. But, i decided not to make a fuss about it since it'll grow back.. eventually... After the fill, file, buffing was done; I settled for just a french tip (midnight blue). She did an ok job. She offered to ad a glitter line below the french which made it "pop" a little. Overall, it looked ok though i had better. Despite the plain decor, the place is clean. I'd probably go back if my regular salon was closed &if I have a lot of time to spare. read more

I went to get my nails done the day of my senior winter banquet. I got acrylic nails with a silver gel polish. The place is always very busy so the lady was rushing quite a bit with my nails. Everyone in the salon was rushing quite a bit due to how busy the place is. The filing of the nails ended up kind of sloppy so I fixed it up a bit when I got home. This place has always been a hit or miss. My appointment on Oct. 6 was a TOTAL MISS! The person who did my manicure and pedicure was on the phone about 6 or more times, taking appointments ... and while she's not on the phone, she was constantly looking around checking the cash register, directing the clients to choose their colors & where to sit, directing the staff, she was restless ... she was not focused on doing my nails. And as a result, my pedicure and manicure were awful and rushed! They were not clean at all - I could have done a better job myself. I paid extra for the wax and hot stone - wax nearly scalded my feet and the hot stone massage... What hot stone massage, haphazard and hurried is what I got. When I asked her to help me find a nice color, she gave me major attitude. Really, this is how you treat your paying customers? I would give a zero star if I could. Never going back to this horrible horrible place. After I paid, she stood there for an awkward moment (waiting for tip) - I was not going to tip her but I still gave $5 - I know that it's less than what I usually tip - she doesn't deserve a penny but I still tipped her anyway. Typically, when u arrive at a salon your feet soak for a few minutes... nope. Once I sat down she pulled my feet right back out to start the pedi. I've been here several times to get my eyebrows waxed. Today, I had been waiting 20-30 mins, and Coco took in a girl that came way after me. The woman running the sign in called Coco's name but Coco either didn't hear her or ignored her. Instead of getting up and correcting the error nothing was done. I went there because a lot of people were hyping it, tbh the only reason it's getting 1 star is cause their pedicures are pretty cool. Other than that the place is over crowded, no customer service what so ever, and their work stations are just dirty. I saw one of the ladies rinse the towels in the sink (which none of the towels were the same shade of white) then take it over to the heater, in the process she dropped a towel in the dirty bag right below it, pick it up and put it in the heater with the rest of the clean towels. The guy I had was rushing through the whole process like he was trying to get me out to make the next quick buck. I asked for foil on my nails and he didn't know how to do it he kept asking everyone else around him...so while rushing through and learning my nails wouldn't take to the foil and he was getting frustrated. He finally got it to stick and quickly but a coat of.gelish polish and as soon as it was done hurried me out of the chair. I got home after only 3 hrs of my nails being done the glue / polish is already lifting. It's now the next day and the entire gelish nail polish that is supposed to last at least 3 weeks has completely lifted off at least 3 of my nails. Looking at it he didnt even seal it right smh. Since the first day I did a "Gelish Manicure" I fell in LOVE. I have short brittle nails so its hard for me to grow them out. Gelish lasts very long (3-4weeks for me) and it helps me grow my nails to lengths its never seen. So I've been searching for a place that also did Gelish Pedicures. Then I found Royal Nails! Right away when I walked in I was amazed how nice and clean this place was. I was greeted right before I entered the salon, was told to sign in & asked what type of service I would like. Right away someone brought me the sample colors of the Gelish polish they had. Usually I go for the browns/tans but today I felt like taking a risk. So I went with a bright orangey pink. I was escorted to a pedicure chair & asked if I would like a bottle of water. Shorty I was started on my Gelish pedi I got the hot stone pedicure that is a great deal! It comes with a leg mask, lotion, some type of sugar scrub, paraffin wax, and a hot stone massage! All for just $10 more! I've paid for a paraffin wax $15 more at other places. So I found this a great deal. Other places like to rush threw pedicures/manicures but not this place she took her time and made sure I got the service I was going to pay for. After my pedi we moved on to my mani again she was nice and gentle didn't rush threw my massage and applied extra cots of polish to my nails then usual. Which was great. The only disturbing thing that I experienced was a worker who wasn't busy on anyone relaxing on the pedicure chairs watching some type of music video on his iPad. Usually watching music videos are alright to watch but he was watching some sort of Vietnamese "Gangster" music video. There was cursing and cursing and cursing in the song. I took my three year-old to get her nails painted as girls-day-out fun and they gave her rockstar treatment and treated her like a true princess. And they only charged $10 for her mani/pedi.
