Sad I didn't get the experience everyone else did. I came here hoping to get a pretty Basic design on my nails since I saw the reviews and the work other costumers received. I showed up at 10:15 as the place opens at 10am. Yet it was closed. Someone didn't come to open the place until 10:45a. Super late but ok things happen so I'll still give it a go. I walk in asking for a gel manicure design and a pedicure. She doesn't say anything to me, looks annoyed that I even came in (even though you're the one 45min late) calls someone and then sits me down. I'm soaking my feet for a few min and then the nail artist who is also an hour late shows up and looks at me again, very annoyed. At this point I'm a little uncomfortable but stay because my feet are already soaking. He comes over and asks what I want. I show him and he then tells me they don't do designs. Uhhh, I came to this salon because of the design work. He then explains its only like 2 girls there that does it and they weren't there that day. So I've wasted an hour and 15min of my morning to get told no. So I dry my feet off and just go to my usual salon down the street which I should have just trusted to go to in the first place because they ended up doing an amazing job. So overall first impression: I was the one seeming like an inconvenience to them because they were super late and annoyed that I wanted a nail design when I asked for it in the first place. I was hoping to try something new but I'll be sticking to Natural Nail Salon down the street. read more

This is a good salon if you want acrylic or gel. Not for natural nails. All of their polish is old and whatever top coat they use, your nail polish cracks after a week. Seeing that it's close to my house I still continued to come and just brought my own nail polish. After I started bringing my own clear polish as well. They must've felt offended and said the technicians were to scared to do my nails. The owner sat down with me and said she couldn't afford to lose any more techs (as they only have 4, including herself). I explained to her then obviously it's not me it's customers complaining about service and for her being the owner doesn't change anything, seeing it is never busy. Then she should look into providing a more sustainable business. They would have more customers if they gave equal service to people not getting gel or acrylic. As she tried to convince me to get gel. I've been getting my nails done with regular polish for over 27 years and the polish has never cracked. read more

I just got my first pedicure here ... what a treat! Tiffany did an amazing job. She was super gentle and really took her time. An extra 10 minute foot massage felt like 20 minutes, and was pure relaxation. In fact, I don't think I've ever had such a relaxing pedicure. I hope everything here stays exactly as is. These people are absolutely fantastic. I saw Tiffany for a 2pm mani pedi. I came in, picked my colors and the water was nice and warm. I got black with lavender polka dots on my toes. She explained to me that in order for the lavender to show up she had to put white underneath. They came out adorable. My manicure was also fantastic. Great massage and the color had lasted a week! I brought a friend with me who got a pedicure and she was equally pleased. I would definitely make an appointment and return again. So nice. read more

I'm not someone who likes to just walk into whatever salon is convenient or nearby. I just moved out here and left my last nail girl on the East Coast, who I went to faithfully for 4 years. I make the appointments, I wait the hour if I walk in and she's busy, I used nobody else even in the same salon. When I find someone that does it the way I want, they get my loyalty until they screw it up or I move away. I had to try a salon in Vegas on my way out here and she sandpapered and cut me so much with her drills that I just decided I wasn't doing acrylics anymore. I mean, when you KNOW the cuts and abrasions are coming, it's kind of a turnoff to go in and set an appointment to go through that. I have sensitive cuticles and skin to begin with, and I accept a small amount of pain goes with the territory - after all, accidents happen even with the best nail techs, so coming away with a couple of minor nicks or abrasions to me is just part of the process. But this Vegas lady - holy crap, I'll be writing that review after this one. But my natural nails, they look awful, and I just couldn't get past not finding a new place to form a relationship with. I finally decided to bite the bullet and quit thinking about the possible pain and just push through it and get back on the horse. I was originally going to go to Nail Garden in Studio City since that is near where I'm staying for the next two weeks, but I'm obsessive about reading reviews first and after too many of them stating how much of a cut-you-deep factory it an their other branches are, decided to look around for another salon nearby. Mystic Nail Spa is right across the street and had stellar reviews as you can see. They opened at 10 am the next day and I decided to be there right at opening since it was a Saturday morning. When I arrived the doors were wide open and I could see them mopping the floors and cleaning up. I like that - it's very clean inside. They smiled and welcomed me as soon as I walked up, made eye contact and behaved as if they were happy to see me. I apologized for interrupting the cleaning and told them I'd wait until they were fully open, but they told me to pick a color and the gal put up her mops and grabbed the supply cart. They offered a pedi with my full set but I didn't have time. She offered to do them at the same time, which was a logical response to my not having time for both individually, but I really like doing them separately, so I politely declined, and she left it at that. No upsells, which I appreciate. I also did not add any services or ask for anything extra that would require any upfront "that would be X amount", so I can't speak to that. (I know my last nail girl would remind me when I asked for the French manicure how much extra it would be so I could decide if I wanted it or not.) My girl was fast, but not sloppy fast. My full set was done in an hour. I'm a bit OCD about my nails, so I worried about whether they'd be filed how I like, if the color would be put on how I like, if they would clean up polish mistakes, if the acrylic would be too thick... But my nails look great. They look thin, flat, naturally curved. Just a couple of minor nicks - like paper cuts - but what's important to me during the drilling/filing part is if the tech is trying to avoid that or just trying to get you done. She was careful and precise with her drills, twisting and turning my fingers to get various angles and make sure that my nails were smooth and even. Yes, there was plenty of speaking in their native language, but when they laughed, she explained what they found funny to me in English. During my appointment a gal + her boyfriend came in for a mani + pedi. No complaints heard during their stay. They do appreciate a cash tip, and I don't see a place to leave a tip on the receipt since it's run as a debit card. But who doesn't appreciate a cash tip? Your waiters prefer tips in cash as well, so just make sure to bring your 20% in green. The one thing I did forget to do when I left was to get the actual name of my tech. :( I can only say it was a she, with a long ponytail, but there are two gals there that fit that description. My nails are now just how I like them: then, flat, natural curve, slightly squared corners. My only suggestion is to increase the color selection a bit, especially for the darker colors. If you are picky about your colors - I have my favorite OPIs and Essies - you may want to bring your own to be safe, because several jars did not have their name labels on the bottom, so I couldn't tell if I was getting the color I normally get, since OPI creates so many similar colors. But you could say that about any salon, really. I'll update this in a week or so if they start to lift right away...but I don't see that happening. She put the acrylic on THICK and let it cure a bit before tamping it down to it's current thinness. I do plan to go back for fills - and that pedi. read more

I've been coming to Mystic Nails for about a year now, as it was convenient to my old office. The ladies who work here are beyond nice, friendly, and accommodating! I usually walk in without an appointment and wait for very little time. My gel mani's last for a good 2-3 weeks. The prices are definitely reasonable..I've paid much more in LA and gotten way worse of services. A few months ago as I was coming in to get a pedicure, I got a very sad call that my grandfather had passed away. The woman doing my pedicure noticed I was a bit "off" and had the most comforting, kindest things to say. You just don't get that everywhere..it was so sweet. Highly recommend - I've been to plenty of places in the area and this is hands down my favorite. read more

I come here almost once a week! I own a business next door so it's very convenient and close to me. They do a great job on my manicure and pedicure and I always get extra massage! I like Mystic Nail, it's small and quiet enough to be relaxing, plus the staff are attentive, friendly and polite. Prices are slightly higher than other local salons, acrylic fill is $23. I am a regular customer and last time they charged me $5 for a nail which is broken which my previous salon did not. That amounted to $28 for my fill, where my previous salon is only $19 so I actually stopped coming here after that. read more

Absolutely love Mystic Nails, I have been coming here for their gel manicure for years. Tried a few other places (only because of location) and end up coming back MN. Tiffany runs the nail salon very well and makes it a point to know her customers. Gels (even their cheaper "off brand" kind) rarely chip or come up on the edges and last until your nail growth looks weird and you need to get them redone. Prices are fair, they give you deals if you pay with cash. Also, the pedicure spa chairs give awesome back massages. read more

As my first time a couple weeks ago, for a full set, I have to say that although I think the technician really tried to give me a good set, the result is sub-standard. While visiting relatives in the area I chose Mystic to have the honor of working on my nails. Plus they were able to accommodate me with just 15 minutes of notice. I went all-out and got the full $50 bliss spa packaga. They did superb work on both detailed grooming and finish, I got a buff shine. The only reason it isn't a 5 is because I have a place back in Brookline, Ma that IS really as good as it gets. The girl had strong hands which made the hand/arm massage more stimulating. I have been to Mystic nail spa a couple times now. Every time the service has been great. The owner is very friendly and always greets with a smile. After the service, always asks to ensure everything was as expected. But today was a whole different story. The owner was not present. I got a pedicure which was supposed to include sugar scrub, callus removal and mask. All for $30. The lady who provided the service did not do her job properly. She forgot the sugar scrub. I realized it when she finally started to apply natural coat on my nails. I asked and instead of agreeing to the mistake, she said she did use the sugar scrub and the mask. I thought maybe I was too busy reading emails on my phone and did not feel the scrub. However, when it was time to pay, the same girl told me that she did not use the sugar scrub because I have to choose either the mask or the scrub. She also said, that my charge is $28 and not the full $30. I CAUGHT THE LIE. If it was an either or situation then why not ask the customer what option they want to choose? Don't make the decision for your customer. If the $30 package includes only one of the two services then why charge me less money at checkout? I was disappointed today. If I ever go back there again, I will ensure that the owner is present and that I am not lied to. read more

Every two weeks I get my nails done with Lin. She is seriously the best. Clean job. My gel manicure is always clean and lasts for more than two weeks if I let it go for that long. They're usually busy, so make sure you make an appt. but they do take walk-ins as well. read more

Pedicure was great, but manicure was awful. They wouldn't fix the broken nail I had, they wouldn't listen to what shape and length I wanted, first color I wanted wasn't available, chose a second color and they didn't know what they were doing and asked if they could just do black, when the 2 colors I had chosen were opposite of black. I am chipping chunks of acrylic off of my skin and out from under my nails. After all of this, they only offered a $5 discount, and only because I asked. I was there for 2.5 hours for a mani pedi. After asking if I was getting gel or regular - I was getting regular but had gels on - they had me wait 20 mins for a seat (which was totally fine) what was not fine was that they waited until I sat down to tell me that I had to pay an extra $5 dollars to remove my gels which were basically totally gone already) I think it's wrong that these nail places are constantly up-charging people. I'm reluctant to tell everyone about Tiffany because she might get too busy, but she deserves all the business she gets. Tiffany is a sweetheart with talent too.
