I was in Studio City last week and I was waiting for a friend of mine who was undergoing treatment nearby. They said it would take about an hour and a half so I stopped at this nail salon and decided to get a pedicure. Much to my surprise the room was exceptionally uncomfortable, as if there was no air conditioning and the smell of cultural cooking waved through the room, which was unpleasant to me. When I inquired to the receptionist who said if you are unhappy with this salon you can leave. What ever happened to clean, healthy environments, especially when the services cost a fortune. If I had to give this salon a rating it would be a C as the staff do not care about the clients comfort only the money. I was given a lovely gift card for what was to be a lovely experience. This was my first time here and after I finally use my gift card it will be my last. First when I walked in and ask for mani/padi no questions were asked i thought the technician would do that. They showed me to a wall of very old dull nail poshish. When I said oh where are the gels and then told them I wanted powder they had to change my time to later. Handed me one book for my toes and a ring of colors for my fingers not matching. When I said can't they put a gel color over a clear powder the price went up so I opted to just get the gel but the price was raised again to remove the old powder that I can easily just peel off at this point. When I said these powder colors aren't very exciting and called them boring and yes I said it three times the receptionist got upset and startled raising her voice. I never raised mine but I was the one that was refused serviced. I usually go to very small independent salons that have a better selection of color than you do. I don't go for wild colors I'm usually really subdued in my color selection so for me to be bored looking at your colors means you really needed to step up your game. I had to tell the receptionist at one point to bring down her voice. She was visibly upset over nothing. I actually had to say this multiple times. Maybe I shouldn't have said openly that the colors were boring or that all the additional fee were ridiculous but how will you ever know a customer disappointment unless you're told. I was so disappointed in the colors that actually the first time it just slipped out. I didn't even realize I said it out loud. I realized those things aren't the receptionist fault but she refused to get a manager. And they only reason I was asking for a manager is because they were refusing me service for their rudeness. Customers have a right to state their frustration or their experience in a calm respectful manner. Someone that cares about their business would actually respect and welcome that. Yes they had a right to refused my business but let's get this straight they refused my business because I had the audacity to say these colors are boring and that nickle and diming your customers is ridiculous. Not rudely but more shocked and disappointed. I never disrespect them or raised my voice. Although the receptionist said i dismissed her which wasn't true. I was actually listening to her suggestions. There was only one gel color that was somewhat exciting. Your receptionist really needs a little more strength to work with customers. Nothing ugly or bad was said and nothing personal. Although, she was taking it very personal not only did she raise her voice but her demeanor changed and stiffened. This all could have been a hiccup in their evening if they would have just left well enough alone. I had already choosen a color by the time they got upset and refused me service. Not excited about using my gift card now. Too bad because it was a lovely thoughtful gift. One that might have gotten you a new regular person. I'm looking for a new salon since my regular person that I saw twice a month for 10 years retired and closed her business. I was one of her few regulars that she welcomed into her home after her retirement to comlntinue doing their nails. Treat everyone the same. I showed the front desk exactly what I wanted and they gave me the price of $55. As they were about to begin the design, the technician leaned in and whispered it would be $25 more. I opted for the regular gel manicure and someone else came asking me if I lived in the neighborhood and said "it's different here." I live down the street and have for 8 years. They tried to convince me and as I insisted on what I wanted, they continued to push. I called them out on the behavior. They then offered me a drink as they were about to finish. The two other white women were offered a drink as soon as they sat down. My body then began to be fetishized, praising my frame and my strength as the technician massaged me. Praising my mind as if a surprise. Inadvertent racism. I am a black man. I was not treated the same. This happened on 5.19.25 around 11am. read more

Edit: the gel x extensions stayed great but only 3 of my nails had gel polish by the time of the wedding I was attending. The gel polish did not last more than 3 days. I even stayed out of water in hopes it would help but it did not. My nails that I paid over $100 for and tipped $20 on looked terrible. Update: as soon as I left this negative review the business reached out within minutes hoping to solve the issue. I was not in town but they offered to fix my nails upon return. When I got back I didn't hear back from them for a month but they did get back in touch and offer me to come in whenever I'd like. read more

Terrible experience today. My pedicurist did a lazy & sloppy job and when I asked for the color to be corrected she told me I had to wait for one nail fix and a full pedicure later. RIDICULOUS! Had she, Mimi, fixed it as she was doing it, when I first asked about the polish, but she thought I just would leave after and didn't expect me to wait. Summary: they aren't using the entire dazzle dry system, so they're basically taking people's money without providing the service. I really hate leaving low star reviews and I avoid doing it unless something really egregious happened. So here goes: I've been going to bellacures for years and on most occasions I get dazzle dry polish because they pitch it as a "longer lasting polish". It's never reallllly felt like it lasts much longer but I try not to do gels and I'll take any bit of longer lasting power if they have it. The process is always the same as any manicure, -- standard base, dazzle dry polish, standard top coat. So imagine my surprise when I went to get a manicure at a salon in Miami early this week and they offered me dazzle dry. I said "sure!" since I was familiar with it from Bellacures studio city. But instead of just subbing in the dazzle dry polish, it was an entire SYSTEM. There's a special dazzle dry base and dazzle dry top coat. I could feel that the process was different because they let the base sit for a few minutes and make sure it's REALLY dry.. and it even looks different (like the base polish starts to look a bit dehydrated), which I've never seen before at bellacures. They do two coats of dazzle dry base, air dry, the. The dazzle dry polish, air dry, and then dazzle dry top coat. I told the woman at the front desk that I'd never seen that before despite having done dazzle dry dozens of times in LA. She replied that if the salon isn't doing the system, they're essentially (unfortunately) lying to their customers because it doesn't work without the entire system. I even noticed that the dazzle dry after doing the complete system LOOKS different from when I do dazzle dry at bellacures in LA. It's a lot thicker and handles more like a gel mani, which makes sense since they're using the entire dazzle dry process as it's supposed to be done. Anyway. I was sad to have to write this. But knowing that they are selling the promise of dazzle dry without actually delivering on the full system is really disappointing.. not to mention the are essentially up-charging customers for a service they aren't actually receiving. Went in to get a gel manicure and walked out with a nail fungus and nerve damage. I had an appointment for a gel manicure. The service was fine. A few days after the service, I started to feel pain in my fingertips. As the week progressed, the pain progressed. When I went to urgent care, I was diagnosed with an infection and instructed to take the nails off immediately. Saw my PCP and was given medication to relieve the nerve pain. Clean, calming, and courteous! This salon is my new favorite. Viy did my nails to perfection and Julie was so careful to take cues when I was too ticklish to handle the pedicure. I got a Gel-X manicure and a gel pedicure in the red they label as "68." Couldn't be happier with the way my nails came out. Went over the weekend to get my nails done. First off the front desk is extremely unhelpful. Mumbling talk you can't understand. For someone who this is my first experience it was very unnerving. Finally sit down and I had a mani and pedi. It was gel. The tech said she does dip. Awesome I much rather do dip. Well $200+ later within 5 days I lost 2 nails. I find bellacures to be comfortable and the women that work there have been really nice to me. The problem I have is the quality of products. I did the power mani and pedi which chipped within a couple of days and this is an extra charge. The next time I went - a year later - I got gel mani and a regular pedicure. My gel was peeling and chipping less than a week after the service with all nails peeling off at exactly a week. My pedicure was also chipping within two weeks - usually my pedicures last a decent amount of time. Considering a mani and pedi is about $100 - I won't be returning here as it's just not worth it. read more

My technician started off with not a greeting but "what color do you want" before the nice front desk manager Christine could get the swatches to me. From there, she was loudly talking to the other techs and turned her head away from me while she shaped and buffed my nails, not even looking to see what she was doing. She clipped too close a few times and didn't tend to my cut that started to bleed. At one point she dropped a tool and walked away, so I'm not even sure if she replaced it with a clean one. The environment is really lovely. No chemical smell, they were accommodating of me and my daughter for a last minute appointment and the nail technicians were all very nice. Unfortunately I had higher hopes for the Dazzle Dry manicure since I have very thin nails and gels really damage them. The Dazzle Dry polish is advertised as lasting 7-10 days but it didn't even last 12 hours for me. The pictures are sadly the morning after a 5pm appointment. I did normal evening things--cooking, some dish washing, nothing extraordinary or finger intensive. So 3 stars since I paid $63 to have gel removed and Dazzle Dry put on but it just isn't robust although the salon is luxurious. read more

I am so sad to write this review. I have been a loyal customer of the Bellacures in both BH and Brentwood but moved closer to the Studio City location and decided to give it a try. I had a dazzle mani and pedi last Thursday, it is now Tuesday. Both have a policy of being chip proof for up to 7 days or they will repaint your nails. My mani is totally chipped and peeling and I am on day 5. The problem you ask? I will not go back there because I left with a Staph infection on a few of my toes, one being highly infected with puss coming out of it. I had to see a Dermatologist today and am now on oral and topical antibiotics for 7 days! I am horrified and so disappointed. They must have used unsanitary tools on me. I just had a baby and was so excited to get my nails done. So gross and dangerous. read more

The nail tech changed twice. The woman who did my nails TRASHED them. My nails chipped about an hour after I left the salon. Within 3 days, seven nails broke off. So this happened. Honestly.. What is it with these nail salons? Why are the nail techs always so harried? I went all the way to Studio City from Silver Lake to get my nails done here because they advertise, ON THEIR WEBSITE, that they take cleanliness very seriously. They advertise that they use an autoclave system to sterilize their metal tools and they open the bag up for each client. Well this DID NOT happen here. The tech brought her tools over from her last client in a dirty plastic bin and after discussing with her and the front desk girl about what I wanted done she went to town on my nails. I noticed that the tech's own nails had the beginnings of fungus on one of her nails and underneath her nails were dirty. I started to ask questions about the sterilization of her metal tools as the clipper she was using on my hand had nail dust all over it. I literally was in the chair three minutes when she clipped into the bed of my nail and drew blood. She suggested the she do the tip and acrylic set on top of it anyways. Yeah right. The front desk girls were very nice as was the nail tech, but they seemed to have no idea about the services they advertise. This is a problem with management. Have I received a call to discuss what happened or an apology? No. It's left up to the client to contact the manager to let him or her know what happened. This is false advertisement in the State of California. Not only could you call the Board of Barbering and Cosmetology, they could be sued. read more

Clean and solid service but 1) overpriced 2) do not go above and behind despite price -- I paid for power polish + extra for callous remover but my pedicure person didn't give any massage or anything (typical five minutes or at least lotion after, nope!). She also walked away without helping me put my sandals back on which is super tough when nails are drying, at other salons I've been to they offer and are extra nice 3) asked to add on massage while there and they couldn't accommodate even five minutes 4) valet parking or meter but busy area (drybar, Phillz etc) so hard to come by. The ladies who did my gel manicure and pedicure were very nice and attentive. However, for all the praise for this place that I saw online and on Yelp, I expected more and was disappointed. I also only booked here because I couldn't get down to my regular place and needed to get something done in a pinch, so I admit that might be coloring my view a bit. Booking for Bellacures is easy, though a bit misleading. I booked a Gelicure manicure ($55) and Scrubbed Smooth pedicure ($65). Online, it said my manicure would take place from 4-5 and my pedicure from 5-5:45. I got there about ten minutes early. The place was busy. There are a lot of chairs all over the place. I have to say that it felt a bit of an assembly line, and it continued to feel that way during my appointment. Both were done at the same time by two different employees. I started at about 3:55 p.m. and both of my appointments were done by 4:28 p.m. None of the process felt very relaxing. They tried to get me to add two different upgrades to my already very expensive pedicure. The process to remove the gel on my hands was intense and fast, and my nails feel much thinner now as a result. The massages for both hands and feet felt rushed. My nails look fine, I don't think they will last long and already feel fragile. Again, I don't blame the people who did my services. It feels very much like the employees are told to do things as quickly as possibly so they can get in more people. For the price of these services, I had hoped for a more relaxing experience. If you are looking for something fast in an emergency, they might be exactly what you are looking for. But if I am spending $115 (pre-tip) on my nails, I would hope for a better experience. read more

I always want to like this nail shop more than I do. It's comfy and the services are pretty good, but i just don't think they offer much above other nail shops to warrant the very high prices. They aren't a salon. Just a pricey nail shop. I have a friend who swears by this place, but she only goes to one person every single time so I don't think she's had a broader experience at this place and certainly not the occasional drop in experience. Plus, was very annoyed that the last time I was in because they added a fee for employee health benefits on my bill without telling me. They only told me when I asked why the charge didn't match the one on the price board. Hidden charges are really shady in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I think it's great if they give employees benefits (just wondered if it included all the nail techs or just front desk or other staff?), but a secret charge slipped under my nose just isn't cool. read more
