I really enjoyed this buffet. My kids have come several times with my parents, and it's consistently good. The food was fresh, the Mongolian grill was awesome and it is very clean! The staff was very nice and available and constantly cleaning and refilling food. read more

I go here with my Dad sometimes when we are out together. It is generally pretty good with a nice variety of foods to satisfy any Asian craving. I usually hit the sushi first, the typical Asian food second, and the melon chunks last. I would like better table service for refilling soda drinks. Usually its one drink and that's all because no one comes to refill it. They do, however, have people going around to clear the tables of extra plates. They are good at that. the place is usually very clean, and I appreciate that. It is not too expensive either. I look forward to going again. read more

My husband and I came here on a Saturday during a lunch rush. Lunch is priced at $10.99 and $1.59 if you wanted a drink other than water. There were also 2 commercial buses that had a full load of hungry passengers. The buffet line was kept up and there was someone always there checking on what needed to be replaced. There is also a chef ready to customize your fried noodles for you. They had Chinese food , American food , sushi and a lot of different variety of deserts to choose from. I notice there were a lot of people eating but only 1 bus boy . I can't believe how messy some customers can be and not have the courtesy to at least leave a tip for him as he did his best to keep our drinks filled and tables clean. Other than this experience, this buffet was a nice place to eat as their food were hot, full whenever I went to get something else to try and my drinks was always filled and my table was always cleaned off . read more

Royal Star Buffet. Or should I say Royal Star Barf-ey. I went to this buffet with high hopes. My friend and I phoned in advance to ask if they had crab. The woman on the phone said, yes, we have crab at dinner time. We got to the restaurant and were seated. We went to get out plates and check out the buffet. The first place we went was the crab section. HA! They called this savory crab. It was very small crab cut in half then sifted with some type of flour and seasonings. It was GROSS. Barely any crab meat. Was not worth for the poor crab to die. Next we checked out the other sections. The fried shrimp was very small bay sized shrimp that you would put in a salad. The only think holding it together was the breading. It was horrible! I put some coconut crab on my plate, a chicken wing and some garlic shrimp. ALL of it tasted like it had been there for a long time or it was served up from the day before. The taste was horrific. I covered it with napkins and went back to the buffet. This is the first Chinese buffet where I saw biscuits and gravy! How can one hurt biscuits and gravy. I put a biscuit on my plate. It was like a hockey puck. I thought the gravy might loosen it up a bit. NO chance. Was just as bad as all the rest of the food. The ONLY thing that was edible was the egg flower soup. I will NEVER go back to this buffet. The staff were friendly enough, but never offered to refill my soda or my friends water. We couldn't wait to get out of the place. Do yourself, your stomach and your pocket book a favor. We were there at around 2:00pm on a Friday. The buffet was half empty...many empty service pans. We ordered hot tea and got it just as we were finishing our meal. When we finally got some, the fried chicken was crispy...clear through... very overcooked. Used to be really good, but this was awful!!! read more

We go to this restaurant about once a month. Very good customer service and the food is usually very good. It also depends on the time of day you get here as to the quality of food. We got here once about 7:30 pm and the food had sat in the warmers for a long time... Needless to say it wasn't very good. When you get there right at dinner time (5-6:30} it's hot and fresh! Wow! This place is absolutely amazing! Came here once on Valentine's Day and now it is my new favorite restaurant! Very high quality food! And excellent customer service! The quality has fallen a bit. No sushi. Just cold boiled shrimp. The roast beef was a dull beige but wasn't tough. The service was slow. We were about 25% through our meal before the drinks showed. up. The plates piled up on the table before they were cleared. I did try the Mongolian grill this time. We were there for lunch. We are on the paleo diet and need a whole food option for eating out. Their Mongolian grill was very good. The vegetables were fresh and the meats were not freeze dried like other grills. The chef helped us with the sauces for optimal flavor. The sushi bar was also good. The had 3 different rolls and 2 different sashimis. Other than that they had a standard Chinese food bar with NON MSG choices which they will happily point out if you ask. There salad bar was also good. We saw the dinner additions at the end of our meal and they looked very tasty. Roast beef, ham and bbq ribs were available to patrons who paid for dinner only so if you were in for late lunch you cannot sneak in to those items. High quantity/low quality, unfortunately. But this might be expected by the price. I tried a lot of the Asian items and many looked good, but all tasted bland and uninteresting. I think the best were the salad items, like the green beans and the strawberries in the desert area. The worst were the deep-fried items, overcooked fish, and uninspired stir fries. I've been here twice. Twice I've come out full to the brim. The food has less of a cheap msg taste than four seasons, but is still very present. The American style food in their was god awful though. The gravy was most likely expired. It just about ruined my appetite, if I hadn't had a Rangoon in my plate to cleanse my palette. Waffle maker makes this place stand out IMO. I made reservations for my son's graduation dinner, the ceremony lasted longer than what I expected we arrived 15 minutes after 9 and the restaurant closes at 9:30. The staff greeted us with smiles and waited on us professionally and the food was great. Although they were closed and ready to go home the smiles on the staffs faces and attitudes were still cheerful and courteous. As with others, we used to go to this buffet when it was Royal Fork. We stopped going because of the horrendous smell in the carpet and furniture; it was like walking into a nursing home. When we saw it was "redone" we thought we would give it a try, so we took our grandkids to check out the "great new menu". We walked in and was greated by an asian lady that obviously had a really bad cold. Then when we were shown to the table, we found that the drinks were NOT included in the weekend price of $11.99per adult. Then we went to the food tables and saw that 75% of the menu was chinese food, not what we were wanting. We sat down to try the food and when we reached for a napkin that was in the napkin holder the smell of OLD MOLDY STORAGE or as my grandson said, " it smells like the rotting driftwood on the beach". Several of the items were too spicy hot, others were stale, and still others tasted like the food you get at a elementary school cafeteria! Wow were we mad! We did not purchase drinks, and after taxes our unappetizing dinner cost us $44. We could have gone to the local asian buffet that we KNEW was good and paid that for dinner. This experience was aweful and my grandkids even complained of stomache aches while eating some of the food that they pick out. Avoid this place at ALL cost, litterally!!! read more
