    ROY'S CHEESE BURGER

I love this place for what it is; straight & to the point & done WELL! The menu is simple and the food is fire. The burgers are juicy and flavorful and they get that perfect little crust on the edges of the meat. This is my second time coming and I'm not disappointed. Don't come here thinking it's anything fancy!!! ...but that's what makes it magic. Unassuming and delicious!

Some nights after a long week, you just need to try a new burger spot and order in. And let me tell you... this patty melt SLAPS. The fries were okay, and the onion rings were about average, but there's definitely a reason Roy's is known for their burgers. The patty melt was the star of the show! Don't sleep on this place especially if you're craving a solid burger. Bring your appetite and napkins the way a burger should be

YUM! The beef tallow in the fryer is what finally convinced me to give this place a try, and it did not disappoint. The burger was super tasty with lots of fresh produce, and the fries were awesome! I enjoy shoestring fries and these were plenty crispy and well salted. Service was friendly and quick, parking easy. Only downside is the overwhelming smoke smell inside the restaurant. It's in a building with a smoking indoors bar, and the drop ceiling definitely lets the smells through. The dirty ashtray smell is a huge turn-off, so we will ALWAYS opt for takeout when we visit again.

Tip: Most people ordered ahead online and that probably saved them a lot of time. The wait was worth it though. The chicken strips were so good I only finished 3/4. I got the Cajun dry rub and it was delicious. They weren't greasy or dry. And the fries were delicious. 1/2 lb was the perfect amount. If I do go back I'd like to try the single cheeseburger no fries. My friends both got the single cheeseburger and they said it was really good. They also mentioned how for drinks they liked how we got to pick bottled drinks from the Pepsi fridges instead of cups and soda dispensers. If they had something sweet like ice cream that would make it even better. Dining in the area is clean. The staff are so funny and make it feel homey. It was a really nice atmosphere.

Just decided to try this place again. It has a great delivery service that doesn't really cost much extra. It's worth tipping the driver. We have been working in our yard doing a lot of yardwork and didn't feel like going out. A nice bonus was the website said it would be 45 minutes for delivery and I think they delivered it within 20 minutes. What we ordered: Chicken wings Sweet potato fries Burger w/fries They do have good burgers. Kind of reminds me of the old A&W. Although this time the burger was a little more smashed than I like. Really nice size chicken wings, and the flavor was good. The only issue I have with this establishment besides it's a little pricey for a double burger and fries ... there tater tots, sweet potato fries, and french fries are not consistent. Three visits and each time one of the starches was undercooked. The first time was tater tots, they were mushy and oily. The second time I went in and sat at their table had a burger and fries and fries run cooked. The manager/owner was there and I brought them to his attention. I told him I didn't want any compensation as I was full, but I showed him the fries were not cooked. On this delivery, the sweet potato fries were mushy. If they could fix this issue ... even though it's a little pricey it's better than driving all the way to town for a burger.

Service was fast, and the Philly cheesesteak was amazing--packed with flavor and one of the best I've had. The fries were hot and fresh, and the portions were generous. I'll definitely be coming back to try more items on the menu. Highly recommend giving this place a try!

Tried this place for the first time today. Got take out because I didn't feel like cooking. Such a great meal! Their cheeseburger is a double smash patty burger which was absolutely delicious! their fries are fried in beef tallow and wow, what a difference! So much more tasty and crispy. Will definitely be ordering from them again.

I had to go to Lemmon Valley today came across Roy's burger shack stopped there and we both got a kids cheeseburger. It came with lettuce, tomato really good pickles and you could've had onions too along with 1000 island dressing. Trust me. This was really really good. Very small little restaurant very clean people. There were very nice and explained everything so it said happy adventure with a great cheeseburger and fries you need to go out there and try this place.

Heard about this place on Facebook, people were talking about how it's one of the best burgers in town, I gotta say they're right. The location is true to the name it's a small burger shack. Service was friendly, which is always great. We ordered two Roy's burgers, mozzarella sticks and some onion rings. The burgers were tasty! Hands down one of the best we've had in the Reno and north valleys area. The meat was actually seasoned, not dry but juicy full of flavor, veggies were fresh and crisp and the thousand island sauce brought the burger together. Totally recommend this one if you haven't tried it already! Onion rings tasted great, fried to perfection and not soggy like some Places serve them. The mozzarella sticks were also delicious and crisp. Overall I'd say if you're craving a burger without a long wait (took only about 10-15 minutes for all our food to come out) then this is the place for you. Menu is simple and to the point but what they do have they do it well.

Roy's Grill is a brand new Hidden Treasure just off of Lemmon Drive in Lemmon Valley. The burger and fries were Five Star, customer service from Chef Letty was outstanding. Roy's Grill is a very simple little restaurant but I can say that the food speaks for itself! Excellent! This burger was so big I had to take it home! Loved it! Come and try Roy's Grill. I think you will love it as much as I do. Julie A

We don't have a lot to choose from out in the north valleys area so I wanted to give this place a try. I ordered online for a pickup order. They had it made and ready to go within ten minutes, which is awesome! The burger was good and pretty filling, it was big! Next time I'd like to try the wings. They had their garment cleaner there when I arrived who threw the bag of dirty stuff out the door as I was walking in nearly hitting me. Maybe using the back door for that would be a better choice. Also since the building joined to a bar, the restaurant smelled like cigarettes

Contrary to other reviews, we were super satisfied and happy with the food and wonderful staff. Visited on Monday, ordered the mushroom Swiss, patty melt and a side of onion rings. Everything was wonderfully cooked and served. Very happy with the portion sizes and taste of everything overall. We will be back for certain, great little "shack" in Lemmon valley.

I've seen many ads for Roy's Burgers and decided to take a drive out there today. It's off of Lemmon Drive. It's a very tiny spot with six tables. Two employees in house today, a friendly counter person and a cook. The menu is limited but we went for the burger. We were allowed to order the child's burger as were seniors and can't eat a giant sandwich. And the child's burger with a basket of fries was more than plenty for us. The fries are delicious and they were generous with them. They're served with a side of ranch. The burger is on a fresh brioche bun and had lots of fresh toppings. You can choose what you want but I went for everything which included thousand Island dressing, tomato red onion lettuce and lots of yummy pickles. And cheese of course. The burger was very good and we were surprised at how tasty it was. They offer also a Philadelphia steak sandwich, couple other items that I probably would like to go back and try. Everything was served in about 5 minutes. The drinks are a selection of soft drinks in a refrigerator case. There are no fountain drinks. Overall great lunch today and the price was $14 for the child's burger which is the size of a normal burger at a lot of fast food places and the fries.

So glad we finally tried this place!…read more Some friends of ours tried this place a few years ago, but honestly, I had never even heard of it until I recently saw a review pop up. I told my husband, "We've got to try this place!" We were going to be downtown anyway, walking along the river, so it seemed like the perfect time. I'm so glad we did! I have to say, this place is definitely hipster--and I mean that in the best possible way! It has such a cool, unique vibe. There are diner-style seats with limited space right up along the bar, outdoor seating, and even a bus that has been turned into dining space. The bus was super cute and quaint inside. Today was absolutely perfect for sitting outside, so we took advantage of the beautiful weather. Our waitress, Nicole, was absolutely adorable! She was friendly, welcoming, and made our experience even better. There was another gentleman helping serve us as well, and unfortunately I didn't catch his name, but he was also super nice and attentive. Now for the food! I ordered the Pastrami Pile Up, and boy, they weren't kidding--it was PILEDDD UP! There was a generous amount of really good pastrami, along with a 1/3 pound burger. The pastrami was delicious. For me, the burger could have used just a little more seasoning and I had asked for medium-well, but it came out more medium. I didn't want to complain, though, and overall it was still good. The tater tots were fantastic! They came out hot, crispy and perfectly cooked. Definitely the kind of tots you keep eating even when you know you've already had enough. My husband ordered the Nevadan Burger with Swiss cheese, and he said it was really good. He also got the fries, which were hot and very tasty. There was so much food that we ended up taking some of the fries and our burgers home to enjoy tomorrow. And then there were the Parmesan garlic wings. My husband said they were absolutely delicious and had just the right little bite to them. I'm not really a wings person, so I didn't try much, but he was definitely impressed! Overall, we had a wonderful experience and are so happy we finally gave this place a try. Between the fun atmosphere, unique seating options, friendly service and generous portions, there's definitely a lot to come back for. Next time, I think we're going to try something completely different--and I already have my eye on the fried Oreos with ice cream! So glad that random review popped up and convinced us to give this place a try. Sometimes you just have to follow the recommendation and go!

For starters, the food is decent…read more With that said, if you advertise Happy Hour prices, they should be honored. I went specifically for the Happy Hour wings, and when I received the check, the price didn't reflect the amount stated on the menu. I asked to speak with the owner, and instead of correcting it, she told me she gave me a quarter off and, with a smug smile, said, "Thank you very much." Sorry, lady, but your food isn't that great for you to be so confidently rude. In addition, this was my second visit this week. I only returned because my sister loves chicken wings, and because of the advertised "Happy Hour" price, I decided to give them another try. We also ordered a plain burger to go with just cheese, and when I got home, it was loaded with all the fixings, including sauce. I called several times to have the issue addressed, but no one answered. When I told the servers about the situation during this visit, instead of trying to make it right, they gave me a half-hearted apology. So yes, the food might be diner decent, but the owner's attitude and the poor service make the entire experience worse. I've worked in customer service for over 30 years, and not once have I treated a paying customer the way I was just treated. And if they want to respond to this review to justify their shitty service, great. Go for it. I was polite the entire time. All I asked was to be heard, for their advertised pricing to be honored, and for some basic appreciation for my business by simply making things right. Instead, the owner insultingly put two quarters on the table, as if 50 cents somehow made up for the $8-$9 difference we were being overcharged. It didn't. If anything, it made an already frustrating situation feel even more dismissive. And it really was an easy fix. If they couldn't adjust the Happy Hour pricing for whatever reason, she could have easily taken the $18 pastrami sandwich off the bill to make up for both the pricing discrepancy and the incorrect order we received during our previous visit just two days earlier. I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable. I was asking for an owner to recognize that her restaurant had made mistakes on two separate visits and make a genuine effort to correct them. In a city full of burger options, she had an opportunity to turn a negative experience into a positive one and potentially make lasting customers out of my family and me. Instead, she chose to be dismissive, smug, and rude over something that could have been resolved in a matter of minutes. That tells me everything I need to know about how she values her customers.

Until this 4th of July weekend (250/2026) we had never heard of Archie's. It was recommended to us and we stopped in on Sunday the 5th for lunch on our way out of town. What an amazing choice. I ordered their bacon cheese burger. Guess what? It was GIANT. It was delicious. It was perfect. Comes with fries but I got onion rings. The onion rings were perfect too. Largest order of rings I have ever seen. The burger (1/2 Lb I think!!) had nice thick bacon in every bite, two large and fresh slices of tomato, a big old slab of an onion slice, mayo and lettuce. I can't remember if there were pickles. It was the best burger and onion rings I have eaten in at least ten years, maybe 20. We will be back, EVERY time we are in town from now on. I can't recommend this place enough. Special shout out to David, our server. This guy made no mistakes. Laughed at all my stupid dad jokes, was attentive, patient while my companions changed their minds 36 times, and was friendly too. Says it was only his 2nd day on the job, but I wish he had been working for us at our restaurant (Hokkaido Noodle House) in Sacramento. He is a pro already, give him reasons to keep working for you boss. Don't worry, we won't steal him from you, we are retired and closed our joint 10 years ago. Rock on Archie's! Was surprised it had a second floor with a small deck and pretty decent views! Big place. Great Happy Hour Deals (half off drinks) and other specials. I haven't eaten breakfast there but the burger I'd put in the top 4 in Reno. It is giant diameter wise but the meat is the same amount of a smaller thicker burger which makes it no too hard to eat. I'd call this a Purist's Burger. Crisp lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, mustard, sauce. They went really light on the sauce to the point I didn't think it had any. Fries were excellent too. Price is very reasonable (that's typical near a college.) I've tried Royce, Juicy's, and The Parlor. I'd put Archies below Royce and Parlor but above Juicy's. Two left on my list are Armando & Son's Butcher Shop and of course Beefy's.

My husband went with the bison, barbecue burger, and a side of fries, and I had the original burger with my choice of cheeses. Everything was prepared and served hot and fresh! We were offered ranch to go with our fries. I had a house made thousands island type sauce (but way better) to go on my cheeseburger. It was delicious. (Their Classic in my photo is probably their least impressive looking burger.) I ordered medium rare like always at a high-quality joint but I accidentally got someone's medium-well, and after tasting both, I actually preferred the the medium-well as the grind on the rare part of the medium-rare was a little mushier than I'm used to. Probably because most places you order a medium-rare you actually get a medium. Not here. I'd go medium on a return visit. I like they don't overseason the burger with too much salt like a lot of other places. Eaters with palates desensitized to salt due to a lot of fast food/burger eating may find the need to add salt to satisfy their salt craving. The burger sauce is also served on the side and is a bit milder, and more homemade tasting compared to your average burger sauces. This is great because the meat is so good you really don't want to overshadow it with salty seasoning and overpowering sauces. If you're going to dump a bunch of salt and sauce on it, just go to In-n-Out. They also have sandwiches, tenders and chili. If you think about it, a butcher shop deciding to serve cooked food is taking a risk. If the food isn't that great it can affect their meat business. The shop atmosphere is very upscale with high prices to match it like the rest of Rancharra Village. Very limited indoor bar dining and some tables outside. Not sure if the really high prices for the meats and seafoods in the case are worth it, but the saying "you get what you pay for" at least applies to the burgers here. My only suggestion is take a sharpie and scribble the cook temp (medium, medium-rare, etc) on the paper in the burger basket so groups don't get their burgers mixed up. They verbally pointed it out but it's easy to forget by the time you get back to your table with 3, 4, or 6 burgers. Fry basket is a great value, easily enough for 2 people and probably some of the best thick cut fries I've ever tasted with sort of a very light seasoned crispy panko outer texture to them. Updated Reno Burger Rankings primarily on quality/taste but also value is factored in but to a lesser degree: #1 Armandos #2 Royce #3 Beefy's tied with The Parlor #4 Archies Giant #5 Juicy's
