At first, they billed me for an hour of labor but it only ended up taking 30 minutes so they discounted that off my bill which I wouldn't have known the wiser!! We were going to go to the Wholesale up the street for my husband's winter tires but will be coming back here even if it's more expensive. They installed them, but didn't set the PSI to the standard 32psi they are supposed to be at. I got my vehicle with all tires at different pressures. Got a flat tire, and was well within the warranty of the tires, they could not fix the flat, or "did not have another tire in stock" of the same ones. Come to find out, they had 4 tires in stock, but the only way to get the ONE, I had to buy all 4. I paid for all 4 because I literally had no choice as my car was on a complete flat. They called me and changed TPMS monitors on the wheels, but apparently they didn't do that correctly either because my TPMS light is still flashing AND all 4 tires are at different pressures AGAIN. These guys are a SCAM, do not go here if you value your money and your time. Complete failure both times.

Unfortunately I was charged over $3000 for the studs, and the stud pattern was very sparse, about 1/3 or 1/4 of the studs you see on a tire in a showroom. The manager bragged about how rapidly the tech was able to install the studs on 28 tires. Now that the tires are on the buses, it will be difficult to add enough studs to make a difference on icy roads. Also the manager wanted to pick up the check personally rather than have us send it to the parent company address on the bill.

For weeks we have planned to send our youngest son (we'll call him J here) from New Jersey to Fairbanks to spend Christmas with his brother (we'll call him D here). D's car died while driving yesterday, was disabled, and needed a tow. We didn't know what was wrong. It could be any number of things. But the bad news was that D had already called his mechanic and they wouldn't even be able to look at the car for a couple weeks! D called home and told his brother to cancel the trip! It seemed like an active time together for the two brothers was going to be squashed, and even the simple task of pickup at the airport on Christmas Eve was now a problem. D called Preferred Towing. The driver arrived quickly and D explained the symptoms of the car. The tow operator could have just hooked the car and towed it. Instead, he believed he knew what was wrong. Within minutes of tinkering under the hood D's car was running!! Preferred Towing not only saved the day, but they saved the whole Christmas vacation together for my two sons! They can now go snowboarding and have the freedom to drive around together next weekend. We are so thankful that companies like Preferred Towing have such compassionate, knowledgeable and caring employees! Secretary scheduled me for a Tuesday, however didn't hear anything until Thursday evening where they sent me the codes that I had already pulled off with my code reader. Friday morning, I get a message that I will be charged extra due to liquid melting back of my truck. Well after a $400 bill $260 tow bill to get the truck to this location and then another $200 bill to get it towed to another shop. I'm into this over $800 for them to pull a couple computer codes off of my truck that already done. I recommend going to Pearson's auto or gas and diesel doctor if you're in the Fairbanks area.

I was told by the very unpleasant receptionist that the owners no longer discount for items you already have installed. I questioned that because we had the same scenario when we brought my husbands brand new truck in and they did indeed discount the amount of the engine heater, I was told the owner no longer does that. I was told the owner also no longer offers a military discount on Winterization ( I was given a military discount at the end once I told them how unhappy I was with their service) If you make an appointment know that your car may or may not be done that day (my car was dropped off at 730am and not done until 5pm) another lady came to pick her car up and was told it wouldn't be done until Friday (she was very upset because no one ever said that to her) the receptionist was less than helpful to her and since the lady made a $2000 deposit she had no choice but to leave her car. Had them check my antifreeze rating which was only good to -34. We had experience-50 here in Fairbanks. They top off my reservoir with there -60 antifreeze. Always fast and very professional. Was told i needed a radiator flush but will do it another time. Even though I had to wait they moved the line fairly quickly. Again great service.
