When I call for quotes, the guys are always concise and helpful. Gave 5 stars because they couldn't have done better! I called ahead and reached a very knowledgeable guy on the phone. I told him what I needed (4 tires), and fast, since I had to drive to work in a few hours. He took a second then quoted me a specific price with specific tires. He held them at the shop for me, they were set aside and waiting for me when I arrived. They were perfect, so we proceeded. Bought a pair of tires and within a few days i discovered that one has a slow leak. I called them and informed them that one of the tires is leaking. They told me that they can not do anything because they did not mount the tires. This doesn't make sense because i was told that the shop out back is not owned by the same person. I was informed of that after i asked the tire salesperson if i can pay extra to have the tires mounted quicker. I drove all the way there from Fremont and needed the tires put on the rims before work that night. They told me they wouldn't have it done until the next day. I ended up having a shop, which i have used numerous times without any problems, install the tires because i needed them done that day.. Ill never go back there because they obviously do not stand behind their product. At one moment, they aren't affiliated with the business that installs tires. At the next moment, I'm stuck with a tire that leaks because i didn't have my tires installed by the right person. First of all they open at 8am not 9am . Error made by Yelp.. I called at 8am because I noticed the picture on Yelp said 8am-6pm. The man Who picked up the phone was very polite and informative off the bat. I get there around 8:10 AM , picked out my tire size and was sent around to the back where a separate company that works directly with RT Installs the tire. $37 for the tire and $18 for installation for a grand total of $55 and was on my way back on the road by 8:25 AM no BS . I was excited with the idea of becoming a regular customer of RT. I'm a single guy with 5 cars. With new tires becoming so expensive these days, who wouldn't appreciate a discount? The guys working the shop are friendly and accommodative. Two stars for that. However, with my first visit, they were unable to produce even 1 tire of a common 60 series size. Nearly all of the tires I saw on display in-shop looked at least 30-50% used. Even more surprising, the price I was quoted for a set is nearly 80% or more for what I could purchase the tires new at retail. In other words, why would I pay 80% retail price for 50% used tires? Not even including their install fees, which when added, would make purchasing these very used tires not cheaper than buying new at retail. No way this math added up, so I had to walk. Might work if you need a spare or emergency replacement, but I can't see this business model working as a regular, go-to tire store. Save away a few more dollars and just buy new. Better from a safety standpoint too, as most consumer advisors caution against buying used tires. Ask yourself if saving $20-$40 total on average for a set is really worth an exchange for you & your loved ones' safety? Since have found several astronomical deals on tires through eBay, and most sellers will ship these deeply discounted & NEW tires directly to you or your mechanic's shop for free. Then, it's just a matter of finding a tire shop to install for you (usually pretty cheap). Def convinced AGAINST used tires with this experience. read more

Got a set of 4 used tires with lots of tread for $300 out the door here about 2 weeks ago. Service was good but i notice 1 of the wheel got damage from the tire installed. There is a 12-14 inch long curb all around the wheel/rim area, and it only could of been done from the part from the tire installing machine. You can tell it got damage from the tire install since the wheel was black and the damage area looks completely fresh. The damage could of only been done from installing the tire, If it was from me hitting the curb then the hubcap would of been scrape up also which it wasn't. I didn't go back and complain about since it wasn't worth my time and it was my commuter car but i definitely won't take my nicer/expensive weekend car here for tires. read more
