My experience with Aimee Rosendahl at RTC Engraving, concerning my dear mother's headstone, has been profoundly and acutely disheartening and frustrating. This review is not just about a singular negative encounter but echoes a pattern of grievances regarding customer service, communication, and ethics that many others seem to have faced as well. Communication with Aimee was fraught with misunderstandings and delays, although the first meeting with her seemed sympathetic and professional. Despite my efforts to follow the process outlined for design approval, the lack of clear, empathetic guidance during such a sensitive time added unnecessary stress to what was already a painful period. Aimee's responses often lacked the empathy one would expect from someone operating in the death care industry, making the process even more challenging. I completely understand that there is a process and that approval was needed before the engraving could take place. I had reached out to Aimee Rosendahl and RTC Engraving way before the needed deadline to make certain that I was on track. She knew this. She was in acknowledgement of my needs and claimed to understand the timeline before the needed unveiling in July of 2023. With so many things on my plate related to my dear mother's passing, I somehow missed any actual date/deadline that was never actually defined, but I acknowledge my missing the needed 'approved' email. I fully believe that when I criticized Aimee Rosendahl for her lack of customer service and failing to let me know that she had to have the 'approved' confirmation by a certain date, that she never indicated to me, that her attitude shifted and now here we are almost a year later the lies have clearly continued. Moreover, resolution and clarity on the completion of the project were significantly lacking. I was left in a state of limbo for many, many months, with vague assurances and no concrete timeline or acknowledgment of the project's completion until it was far too late. This not only delayed the ceremonial aspects tied to the headstone but also prolonged my grieving process. Upon reading other Yelp reviews, it's disconcerting yet affirming to see that my experience is not unique. Many others have voiced similar concerns about Aimee's approach to customer service, her handling of communication, and questionable business ethics. These repeated patterns of negative experiences suggest systemic issues within RTC Engraving that go beyond isolated incidents. It is also very apparent that she will always push back on taking ANY responsibility on anything related to services and I anticipate that she will offer this review some negative comment about me. Adding my review to the existing pile of grievances, it's apparent that RTC Engraving, under Aimee Rosendahl's management, has failed numerous families at their most vulnerable times. This consistent pattern of dissatisfaction should serve as a stark warning to potential future customers. I strongly recommend considering alternative providers who prioritize empathy, clear communication, and ethical business practices in their services. While the intention was never to add to the negativity, it's imperative for future customers to be aware and cautious. The systemic problems within RTC Engraving, as evidenced by my and many others' experiences, highlight the need for significant improvements in how they conduct their business, especially in an industry where sensitivity and understanding are paramount. Again, I feel that I have been lied to and strung along many times by Aimee Rosendahl and I find it absurd that she seems to turn things around, always telling the customer that they are wrong, and never takes any responsibility. I really was laughing when she says in her most recent email to Rabbi Mati and myself about checking the gravesite... Aimee really does not get it. Who in their right mind is going to waste more time traveling to the cemetery, when there needed to be a finalized contract completion, as well as, as I understand it for my faith, the gravestone should then be covered after completion until the unveiling! Once again, I fully anticipate that she will be responding to this review with some twisted reason that this was all me, and not her at all. I apologize for the long writing here but this needs to be stated and put out there for all of you to see and read for any future perspective customers... WARNING! This woman THREATENED us, saying "I know everyone at the cemetary and if you don't buy from me I'll make sure he never gets any tombstone there." You know how fucked up that was to say??? To a grieving family??? How fucking evil do you have to be??? This was for my dad's tombstone, because we made a downpayment for a red tomb, then when we went to her office to finalize design all the tombstones there were clearly NOT red and more of a faded light pink/gray color. No harm no foul, let us cancel it or simply choose another tombstone variation. But no, this woman went from nice to completely nasty on us. I was so afraid of her threat that I didn't report this or write about it until a year after we got his tombstone from another vendor. If someone can reply to this and tell me how to report this it would be much appreciated. This person shouldn't be allowed to extort grieving families like this. My family and I were very pleased with the service from RTC. The service and quality of my father's headstone from Aimee and Thor were above expectations. Aimee was very thorough with every step of the process. I am a graphic designer and wanted to design my father's headstone. As a designer who hasn't worked with anything similar to headstones, I asked a lot of questions to Aimee. She answered all my questions and providing very valuable feedback. There were about 3 times when I ended up adjusting my designs (thankfully!) because of the valuable feedback she provided. The headstone will pretty much last forever, so even though it took longer time than I originally expected, it was well worth spending the extra time to make it right. I can confirm that the headstone was installed and looks beautiful!!! I have a few tips for those looking to create a headstone (what I've learned). - TIME: Be sure to allow for ample time. Try not to rush. I know sometimes, we like to have everything done fast (especially nowadays), but these headstones take time to create. It will take some time for you and your family to make decisions (even if you don't design it yourself), and for the team at RTC to design and produce. It took months after my dad's burial for the headstone to be completed (mainly because there were delays on my end and in the back-and-forth decision making with my family), but like I said, it was well worth the time spent to make it right. - AIMEE'S ADVICE: I realize that for some people, they might not care so much about the details of the design process. Aimee is very thorough and I personally appreciated it very much. I ended up considering all sorts of materials, designs, etc and I ran them by Aimee. She was willing to talk to me about the pros and cons of them. Of course, I made the decision at the end but all of Aimee's feedback and suggestions were integral in making the decision. Few other details that you might want to know: - RTC does engraving on-site, which was important for us because we wanted to have 1/2 of the headstone for my dad, and reserve the other half. - It's good to schedule time to meet in person as Aimee was able to show me some samples. - RTC delivered the headstone to the cemetery and emailed me when it had been delivered Thank you again, Aimee and Thor! read more

I was a bit skeptical about using this outfit because I'm accustomed to using the Mortuary for family markers. I came across RTC online to gather estimates for my brother's maker. Rose Hills in Whittier mortuary does not provide great customer service. So I decided to go online. Aimee, was always responsive to my emails or phone calls. And finally, the Marker is beautiful. I am very content with my loved ones Marker. It was finally installed and it will sit there for a very long time. I would definitely recommend this company to others. Be aware if you choice this place to do the marker for your loved one. On there website they said ~ "a family run business with 37 years experience of HANDS ON engraving monuments and large and small memorials..." but the owner, Aimee, said in the court " we have 20 years experience... so what happen with those extra 17 years?? Business without any moral. They will tell you they can handle ANY KIND of work without any problem to get your trust first. (simple engraving only) Then they will persuade you to pay more for the third party to do the job and tell you" because they want to give you lifetime quality", Big liar. If you choice this place, make sure you ask they show you the art books for the layout designs and invoice with all detail charges like other places (normally with 3 times free changes ~ it is your rights). Get everything write down in paper and make sure it is refundable if they did not follow what they promised you before you pay any deposit. Be aware, they will tell you they don't need invoice since they are a small Co but will email you an invoice with "No refund" later as you agree the term and her son will become the "WITNESS" They will promise you they will finish in 4 ~6 six weeks but the waiting will be endless since it was only oral promised and their layout programs for design is very outdate. It was not surprised me the epidemic caused so many people died but their business still so slow. If you don't want get any trouble, you have many choice to other places such as Long Beach, San Gabriel, Los Angeles or even online in other state with cheaper and quick service. After Taking RTC to Small Claims Court and allowing them over 11+ months to make good on their prior promise and agreement. In July 2023 Judgement was ruled in my favor and still RTC has made NO attempt to return my $2,000.00 Deposit or make good on the Judges ruling from the Courts. This woman (Aimee) has NO business being in Business. She is a disgrace and phony. Not to mention a very dishonest women with no integrity. I literally listen to her lie right to the judge on our court date. However, I had much information to backup my dealings with her. My advice is to Document every meeting and call because she DOES NOT! She even had the nerve to sign MY name to her phony order form. The terms make no sense if you actually read them. She is pathetic to take advantage of people at such a heartbreaking time in their lives. The women has no compassion. Not a word of truth comes from her mouth. She will say anything to get the Sale. She will threaten you that she is recording your phone conversation only to follow with her hang ups. She is a real piece of work !! I can imagine she has scammed many over the years. I wish I had researched RTC before starting business with them. I went off a referral from a friend (My Bad). I do believe in Karma.... so watch out AIMEE ! Please people do your research & due diligence and check with the BBB before signing this company. (FYI... I did find a few complaints on the BBB site while preparing for my court date) I have also seen recent reviews that were heartbreaking as well regarding RTC and their business ethics. It appears the work is acceptable the customer service and fees NO WAY acceptable. Just a sidebar, I was able to find a company called NEW CENTURY HEADSTONES in Whittier. It was a great experience with much compassion. I worked with Joseph he was great! He had my order completed in less than 6 weeks which included the setting at Rose Hills Mortuary. This was all completed during a busy Holiday season with New Century taking 2 weeks off for the Christmas -New Years Holiday which I was informed of prior to placing my order. Joseph and his company still made good on their promised timeline. Just be mindful there are so many other companies out there that care and would appreciate and value your business. She gave us all the price options and was very understanding that this was a very sensitive and delicate time for our In memorializing our loved one. She walked us through the whole process and was very patient and reassuring that my mother in law's marker was of utmost importance, that made us feel good. We were delivered fewer bricks than ordered, 2 of the engraved bricks were misspelled (each missing a letter), 2 of the engraved bricks were missing completely. They couldn't find any more bricks, even though I was told that 400 would be more than enough for 2 columns (that was only enough for one column). I had to track down the 400 bricks that we still need, and am still trying to get the 2 mis-engraved bricks fixed as well as the 2 missing engraved bricks done. Their solution? Drive the bricks over to them. I have worked with much high quality companies than this one. I am very disappointed, and the parishioners who didn't see their bricks (or saw their mis-engraved bricks) are very upset. read more

This company is unreliable, after 10 months and many email messages sent and unanswered phone calls I remembered the phone number that the money was Zelled to, so I called and got the son on the phone to ask when the job would be completed. He promised to call back when he was in the office. The next day I received a email full of excuses, i gave them 9 months to complete the job and they got mad at me for asking when Could I expect the job to be completed. Total rip-off. Lady named Aimee tried to charge my sister way more than what forest lawn was charging us. So ridiculous. Be aware of this business. Take your money somewhere else or you're better off doing business with forest lawn if you're at forest lawn. Don't waste your money with these people because they will rob you for more than what you can really get it for somewhere else. Let's just say it'll be over $10,000 if we were to get my brother's marker from here smh. Then she tried to push my sister to get a different layout when we were already set on one. Also she started asking questions about who did the layout for us which is really none of her business. All that we asked for was for them to just put it together and if it will be by august and she hit us with a ridiculous amount of money. Forest lawn was charging us $6,100 for all the same things included. The reason why we started looking else where and ran into this one was because forest lawn wasn't sure if the marker would be done on time for my brother's 1 year memorial. read more

They are so patient and understanding of our needs, the process was super easy and we didn't feel rushed to do anything. There was great communication between us and them and our needs were met completely. The stone is amazing and was installed already. I love that they offer at-sight engraving so they don't need to remove the headstone when they need to add onto the headstone. I'm so happy to have found RTC and definitely recommend! read more

We lost my brother last October, suddenly and without warning. Needless to say the following months were a nightmare. With everything that follows the death of a close loved one, the last thing you want is a hassle to find everything you need for their final resting place, especially when there is no other option but to take care of what needs to be taken care of no matter how much you don't want to face it. I was new at all of this - burials, services, pricing, all of it. I found RTC through a Google search and narrowed it down as they seemed like my best option and I was glad I did. Aimee was very kind and patient. When we went in to make arrangements she took the time with us and showed us different options and was also willing to work with me throughout the process in case there was anything I wanted to change or wasn't happy with. She made sure to give us care instructions to maintain the headstone. She was in email contact with me thru the entire process, asking my approval along the way. Pricing was also fair & reasonable. Headstone with a picture was done in a very timely manner as I know it does take some time. Once the marker was taken to Rose Hills, she notified me that it was dropped off and we were very happy with the result. Fast forward a few months, during our regular visits to my brothers grave, we noticed there was a weird marking on his picture. I emailed Aimee & sent a pic. She agreed it was odd and said she would have her son stop by to look at it. Well he did and they ended up replacing the picture for me at no cost. They are both awesome and also care about their customers & the service they provide - as I know this is business but for my family it meant something way more than that.
