Went to Ruang Thai for lunch recently and was quite impressed with the food. The lady who took our order was very sweet. When asked what's good there, she asked about our likes and dislikes and was thoughtful in her recommendations.. I also had the Jasmine Mango Tea and was presented very well. Loved the quiet place and service and will go there again. Add this place for your next lunch outing...

    The owners are so amazing!

I happened in this week and had the best tam yam I've had in the area. The owners are so sweet and hub does the cooking. Fine servers make the whole experience memorable. Try the summer rolls. Their satay sauce is amazing.

When you first walk in, it's a very unassuming place, very moderately decorated but definitely not your run of the mill thai restaurant. Dishes: Thai Basil Fried Chicken-100000% get this if you enjoy flavorful chicken that's fried to perfection. The shrimp curry paired nicely with the pineapple. Highly recommend this restaurant and worth a drive out here if you live a bit further away. Service was fast and friendly.

The best Thai food hands I've tasted in Dallas, TX, thus far -- this place is good! The hospitality is excellent (you'll feel like you're at the family's house even if you're not part of Thai culture), the service is pretty decent, and the food is easily a 10/10 - everything we've ever ordered here.

I've been to Ruang a few times over the years. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated and the service is very good. However, I've never thought the food was anything above average. It's not bad, but it doesn't stand out. I'd recommend Asian Mint food-wise.

The food at Ruang is good! They offer lunch specials and lots of options for dinner entrees. Their spice level is on a whole other level! For those who like spice, this place will definitely meet your need for heat. The staff is incredibly sweet and very attentive. The restaurant decor gives tribute to the country of Thailand and has a nice feel. My only note would be is their prices are on the higher side, but I'd still recommend giving them a try!

If you're looking for delicious Thai food that is consistently well made in a quiet atmosphere with friendly servers, this is the only restaurant you need to know about! On the corner of 15th and Custer, you may not notice it at first but after eating there you will find yourself back at this place for more. We had pad Thai with chicken (mild), Penang curry, Massaman curry (mild). All were beautifully presented and tasted amazing! I'll be back to try the pad see ew, pineapple fried rice, and the Tom yum soup (which is what the table next to us ordered!) The ladies there are so nice and even gave out roses for Mother's Day! We were so touched!

They offer a pretty good selection of salads, like Greek, Thai, Cobb, Caesar, and Ranch, as well as dressings of your choice. I like their Thai salad, which has cucumber slices, shredded carrots, romaine lettuce, and red cabbage. They are all very fresh. The dressing is actually what I like the most. It's peanuty, spicy but not too strong, with a subtle tangy and sour note. For my protein option, I've tried their chicken and tofu. The chicken is fine. I like the tofu better though, which is moist, tender, and savory. They also offer seasonal lemonade drink. I've had their cucumber mint lemonade, which is super refreshing especially on a hot Texas summer day! The service is fast. I was there one time during the peak lunch hour. The vehicle line was long, but it moved pretty quick. Give it a try if you want a quality salad at a great price!

I had a promo, which definitely made it worth it. You pick the protein that you want. A few of them have an upcharge if it's not chicken. The salad looks sizeable too. Check their socials because they were also running a year end special for $6 entrees. I liked it and would come back again.

I love the customization aspect & wondered if it would be seasoned well. To my pleasant surprise it was delicious and didn't need any seasoning at all added. They make their own sauces & those were such an awesome added touch too. What's even more impressive is the owner came over several times to check on us, brought us extra items such as more napkins, more milk for my Vietnamese coffee and extra utensils. This speaks volumes when owner/mgr comes by and takes their time speaking with me as well as getting feedback. I'm headed back there again today and have already told several friends about it. I really enjoyed the American cuisine here--great food and a nice atmosphere overall…read more I ordered the French onion soup and the Reuben eggrolls. The French onion soup seems to be popular here, and as soon as I saw that buttery-looking pastry puff baked on top, I knew I had to order it! It was definitely hearty, with plenty of onions (which I love). However, it was a bit saltier than I prefer. I do wish there were an option to substitute the onion soup with a chowder, like clam or corn chowder. The Reuben eggrolls were surprisingly good! I'm used to traditional Asian eggrolls, so I really liked this creative twist. The house-smoked pastrami, sauerkraut, and melted Gruyère cheese worked so well together. They tasted amazing with the spicy Russian dipping sauce (which I appreciated wasn't too spicy). It was such a flavorful and memorable dish! I'm glad I gave it a try.
