Whenever I want a quick salad lunch to take home, I think of Salad and Go. It's a drive-thru place with multiple convenient locations in the Plano/Frisco area. They offer a pretty good selection of salads, like Greek, Thai, Cobb, Caesar, and Ranch, as well as dressings of your choice. I like their Thai salad, which has cucumber slices, shredded carrots, romaine lettuce, and red cabbage. They are all very fresh. The dressing is actually what I like the most. It's peanuty, spicy but not too strong, with a subtle tangy and sour note. For my protein option, I've tried their chicken and tofu. The chicken is fine. I like the tofu better though, which is moist, tender, and savory. They also offer seasonal lemonade drink. I've had their cucumber mint lemonade, which is super refreshing especially on a hot Texas summer day! The service is fast. I was there one time during the peak lunch hour. I've heard a lot about Salad and Go. They made headlines when they shut down a lot of their locations. Finally got to try it. $7.75 for salads and wraps. I don't know if I would say that's cheap... But when I got the wrap... omg it was HUGE!! I was like oh wow.. I was surprised to find that it was like a chipotle burrito. I had a promo, which definitely made it worth it. You pick the protein that you want. A few of them have an upcharge if it's not chicken. The salad looks sizeable too. I am such a salad and go fan!! That's why I was pretty bummed to not have a great experience. I went to this location for the first time today and ordered two salads, one with chicken on the side. When I went to the window to pick it up, I looked in the bag and saw chicken on the salad and alerted the woman at the window. She told me that I should have put the "chicken on the side" request somewhere else (still uncertain where else?). She informed me they would remake the salad and closed the window. As I waited, a second woman rudely told me that another customer was waiting, but I was confused bc no one ever asked me to wait to the side. I ordered the Cobb salad with chicken and no green onions. The salad came just as I ordered it and it was super fast!! I thought that it would be mainly romaine lettuce with a little field greens, there was a majority of field greens and I don't really care for field greens at all. The tomatoes tasted a little bitter and old. The chicken was ok, avocado and hard boiled egg was excellent. The bacon bits were not really to my liking and so plentiful and I should have asked for no bacon. The price is great and service was so speedy and friendly. The salads are super reasonable in price, the menu is simple, and portion sizes are fairly large. They are not skimpy with toppings, they put a ton of ingredients on your salad. I got the cob salad. Avoid the long lunch lines by placing your order online and then walking up to the window to pick it up. I don't know why so many people in Texas hate getting out and walking. Well, every time I go to the S&G in Plano on Coit and 15th, it is a disappointment! While other locations don't scrimp on ingredients, this location is blatantly providing substantially less! It's cheap, it's quick, no frills just quality food at a good value. I can't believe the drinks are only $1, including cold brew! Imma keep eating here until I wake up from this dream that's too good to be true. This is the best value of quality and cost. No biggie, this is normal. However, what was not normal was the fact that an insect rolled out along with the rest of the ingredients of a Jalapeño Ranch Wrap! I understand this occasionally happens in life, probably more so than I'd like to know. This little gem just opened last week. Salad and Go shares a parking lot with 7-11 at the SE corner of Coit and 15th St. It's a drive-thru shop that serves Salads, Wraps, Soup and Breakfast Burritos. They also have a kids salad or protein box. Salads are under $6, all Breakfast Burritos are $2.99. They also have 24 oz drinks for $1, including a variety lemonades. I had the delicious Fiesta Burrito with Eggs, Turkey Sausage, Pico, Potatoes, Tortilla Strips and Cheese along with their salsa and black tea, all for $4.32. I ordered from the mobile app, and it was ready for drive-thru pickup within minutes. It tasted fresh and flavorful, was very filling and the salsa added a nice dose of tomato without being too spicy. The fillings were packed in nicely, so they didn't all fall out as I ate it. HOLY HECK CAN I LIVE HERE I was beyond excited to learn a conveniently close, healthy food option was coming right around the corner from my house and I eagerly waited for the opening.
