I've been coming here for years.... today I wasn't happy as I was very specific on what I wanted as I was dealing with a new groomer. Pic on left is what I wanted pic on right is what I got. Groomer took a pic of my pic for a guideline! I'm going to work with groomer but wish they would have told me their not familiar with a Bichon hair cut.....

I am writing this review to bring awareness of the lack of professionalism this establishment holds. We have taken our dog here to get groomed multiple times and it has always been great. Except I wasn't aware of how they treat the dogs when the owners are not present. I came to pick up my pup at the time they said and as I walked in JESSICA was yelling at my dog "if you don't hold still fucker, i'm going to cut you're fucking ear off" she was in complete shock when she saw me standing in the lobby and tried to sway the conversation by asking if I had any little ones with me and proceeded to laugh and say "you just witnessed a behind the scene groomer in full action". Jessica's vulgar language seems to be the norm as the other groomer just looked at me in an apologetic way. I was in disbelief and didn't know how to react. so I told her I could step outside so she could finish grooming him but she said he was pretty much done that she just needed to cut his nails but didn't even clip them. JESSICA handed me him without blow drying or brushing him off. In the moment I was scared she was actually going to harm him or me so I didn't say anything. I paid and left. Never has my car looked like this after picking my pup up from the groomers. (pictures below) The haircut she provided was far beyond awful, but my concern does not lie with the haircut, it lies with how Jessica views her job and treats animals. In no circumstance should a groomer be using profanity let alone handling a dog as she did. I wouldn't want any other pup to go through this experience. If you read through other peoples reviews you can see they abandon your dog while they are under their care.

Jessica is the most caring loving groomer I have ever known. I've had dogs all my life groomed and this is 100% the best groomer ever. My dogs are the girls I never got to have so they mean everything to me and I would NEVER place them in anyone's care unless I knew they'd be safe. My dogs are 15 years old and 6 years old she's been grooming my little one since she's been 6 months old. There's never been a time I didn't love how they came home. Everyone at this grooming center is amazing. It's nice to see how all have the love for dogs as I do.

The nicest staff! Thanks for making our dogs feel so good and smelling so good!! They handle the big dogs so well! Reassuring for pet owners to know their dogs are taken care of while they are getting groomed as it can be scary for some dogs!

My boys just enjoyed their visit and they where very relaxed. One of my boys is 11 and skittish around new environments. When picking them up, both where not in a kennel and just had a good time interacting with the other dogs and the groomers. Thank you Karen for taking care of my boys. The BEST & most patient I have been bringing our fur baby to rub a dub doggie scrub for the longest time now and without a fail the best! We drive a little over half an hour, but it is totally worth it. I love that they do exactly what we ask and our doggie looks so handsome always. Thank you everyone at Rub a dub doggie scrub.

Face untouched, but somehow her whiskers were cut

I have taken my Morkie there for about two years as a backup place and somehow they never cut her hair correctly. Since the beginning I showed them pictures told them not to cut the top of her hair so it can grow so I can style her hair-they cut it short. Then I went back told them about the mistake and to make sure they leave it and they cut her body hair but didn't touch her whole face except her whiskers it was so bad. If I'm paying $70 I expect a marvelous job, really disappointing.

We found Rub A Dub by chance, and have continued to stay with them and refer many others. Our dog, Pepper, was a young stray rescue who didn't want to be groomed. Our first experience having him groomed resulted in a different groomer calling is to pick up our dog stating that he was too mean and aggressive to be groomed. He was still damp, and partially groomed. We decided to try Rub A Dub, and met Jessica. Pepper loves Jessica and gets so excited to go to the groomer! She hasn't ever complained that he is hard to groom or too stubborn to groom. Our older pup Max also just has loved being pampered at Rub A Dub. We have also used their Doggie Day care and Boarding service knowing that our boys will be well cared for and fully pampered. Jessica makes sure to send me pictures and updates about my boys when they are boarded. We could not be more pleased with the care our dogs have received from Jessica and Rub A Dub.

We walk in with our stray cat and he was fully bathed for fleas and nails trimmed. The staff was wonderful and very kind. We had him back home in two hours even though they were busy with other pets. Thanks for the kindness and love of your customer's pets read more

Place is really awesome! I had to search for a new groomer because I couldn't get in contact with mine, and they did a excellent job on my two huskies, I know my dogs aren't the easiest to wash, found this place online gave them a shot, looks like I found my new groomer! Price is very reasonable, and they smell and look great! Plus the pups seemed to like this place too. read more

I took my dog in for just a nail trim, we've never been there before and our normal groomer was booked. As the groomer begins to cut his nails I notice he is trying to bite. I've never been told by my normal groomer that he bites during the nail trim so this is odd too me. After multiple times of her trying to cut his nails and him trying to bite she tells me, "you'll have to take him to a vet I can't do it." I understand as I can see he's still fighting her but I'm so confused as to how my other groomer can cut them with no problem. Then I see her grabbing the quick stop blood clotting powder. Mind you she hasn't said anything about him bleeding. She tells me she needs to put the powder but he won't let her and I am just so over the situation so we left. I still wasn't told even as I was leaving that she cut him im only assuming because she even asked me to put the powder on his nail. As we are walking home he lies in the grass and I see the nail she cut and it's over half way gone and covered in blood!! My dog was trying to bite her because she nearly cut his nail off! Not once did she tel me that an injury occurred and he was bleeding, she just kept saying he was trying to bite. Now I understand why! I am so upset that I was made to feel as if my dog was just being difficult when in reality he had been hurt. Please look at the picture of his nail. I looked at other nails she attempted to cut and those were on the verge of being cut entirely too short as well. I understand that with black nails it's difficult to locate whether or not you'll hit the nerve, so you cut little by little not chop off half their nail in one shot! I will never go back here because if they injured him this much during a nail trim I don't want to risk them hurting him any further. read more

This place needs serious people to run it. The 2 people running it have absolutely no responsibility. They don't have a filing system and write it down in a log book. What they tell over the phone is different from what they note down. No email confirmation, no reminder calls or emails for appointments. We booked and appointment for Nov 24th 11.00 AM and the person confirmed it on phone. Upon reaching there on time they tell me that it is booked for Dec 3rd (1 week later) same time, i didn't argue as i thought it might be my mistake. I visit again on Dec 3rd at 10.30 AM. The lady on the counter says the appointment was for 10.00 AM and I'm 30 mins late and she cannot accommodate. And started laughing at me saying she can do next week so that the dog would be ready for Christmas, I don't need them to tell me when my dog can be ready. The people running are not serious about appointments and customers. Sayonara, ill go to Petsmart or Petco. read more

What can I say? I LOVE LOVE LOVE this salon! Jessica is THE BEST!!! WE adopted a rescue about 3 years ago, with major aggression issues. He did NOT like being touched ANYWHERE! for his first grooming, we had to sedate him. I couldn't find ANYONE to take him on... till I found Jessica. She is our saving grace. Both of my rescues LOVE her! She softly, gently and lovingly took my aggressive rescue under her wing. It took time... but he finally came around. Before Jessica, I was seriously worried that no one would ever take my baby on, but Jessica did..without once ever complaining! She's a softy with so much talent! I refer EVERYONE I know to Jessica! Gus, Lola, & Bo 5 barks! Clean, defurred, teeth brushed, ears cleaned, nails clipped, & glands squeezed! 60$, 50$, & 50$ respectively. Pricey but convenient. Called, booked a time, Chris called to let me know she's on the way... Viola...1.5 h later all 3 hounds holiday ready-spa beautiful. The hounds didn't howl or bite... So Chris is gentle & she chats with your pooch like your hair stylist/ therapist... Perhaps that's why they were in a good mood after their baths? Will call again when their pheromones start to aromatherapy my house. read more

I recently adopted a beautiful,although grubby, mini Aussie. He's a little shy so I wanted to make sure his first grooming experience was a pleasant one. Rub A Dub came highly recommended by a few dog lovers I know, and WOW they were right! My grubby shy guy came out of the shop looking like a million bucks. His nails were perfectly trimmed, his coat was gleaming and even his ears had been meticulously attended to. Right now, I'm just enjoying watching my beautiful boy strut his stuff around town. Always take my fur babies here! They are always so sweet to my babies and I love how they look and smell when I pick them up. For my two fur babies they charged me $115 which I don't think is too bad. One is a malti-poo and the other is a llaso apso mix. They both have a lot of hair!! read more

They handled my Great Dane with love and care. He smells great and his coat is super shiny. I also felt he was done fast. The shop was clean and all the free running pups looked happy. There was a longer hair pup getting trimmed up front and he looked happy as well. read more

Great doggie spa for our precious baby girl! Our dog has short curly hair so the grooming makes her feel clean and special. Today was the 2nd time bringing my beautiful 5 year old Labrador name Blackie for his special day at the groomers. The ladies there are very friendly and wonderful with Blackie. They show there passion on what they do with our loving pets. Blackie again today left this place happy, with soft coat, clean ears, trimmed nails, and smelling wonderful. I've been going to Rub a Dub for 14 years. I love going there and would never take my three dogs anywhere else. The owner, Alicia grooms my two older dogs and Lindsey grooms my little grand dog. My dogs are always happy there and look so cute and clean when they're done!!! I've never had any problems and am always very happy !! I constantly recommend Rub a Dub to other people. The people who work here are so caring. I love that I always see the same people all the time for years now. My dogs always come home mellow after a stay at their boarding center. The most we've ever had to wait is about 15 to 20 minutes. Today, was no different, walked in at 10:15a, let them know that we needed a nail trim, the associate said that the earliest they can get us in was not till 12 PM without an appointment. An appointment? I explained to them that in the five years we've been going to them for nail grinds (which is pretty frequent) we've never had to make an appointment. That's when she said that making appointment has always been in place. So, I walked out, came over to The Good Dog. The General Manager greeted us, even while working with another customer. Listening how he handled the other two customers in front of us (who appeared to be regulars) set the tone that this is a friendly place that we want to be a part of. You know, it's like "Cheers," you wanna go where everyone knows your name! Well, they were able to get us in right away. They advised we typically do not need to make an appointment for nail grind, but to simply call up to make sure they are not busy at the moment, otherwise can get in quickly. I think that's reasonable, fair enough AND smart! "Thanks, Good Dog!"

Original Review: This is the first time I've been to this location and decided to go here due to the large number of good reviews. They were able to fit my appointment in very last minute, less than 24hrs notice, super friendly staff, and lots of merchandise. Also great cut options avaliable for someone new, trying to figure out what a new groomer can do with a new client. Asked them to brush his teeth and grind his nails, to which they accomplished (at least his breath smells better). With that said, I was told they would contact me 20 minutes before he's ready for pickup, they did not. They messaged me when he was done. No big deal. When I picked him up, immediately noticed the uneven cut job. As we're driving home, noticed A BUNCH of dirt left in his coat. Makes me question if they bathed him, and if they did, they didnt do a good thorough job. Also started to notice the uneven cut throughout his body, from his stomach where they left bunches of fur, to his back, which seemed as though they used two sizes for razors. They cut him (most likely by accident) but just reinforces my suspicion that they rushed through his entire "grooming". For the $100 package, counting $15 for dental/nail grinding, I can't say I'm not disappointed. Unfortunately, will not be coming back. Sincerely disappointed :( I will have to bathe him again, give him a complete haircut, and finish areas they didnt even attempt too, such as the hair under his nose going into his mouth.

We did get a call from their HR department but have NOT heard back since. We racked up 100's of dollars in vet bills. I don't know if that same groomer is still there. A good groomer should be able to identify stressed dogs and act accordingly. My poor dogs have been super stressed since the incident. This will likely take them time to recover from.

I have lived in Rancho Cucamonga six years and have taken my dogs to various groomers in the area with disappointing results. I got the merry-go-round treatment from an outrageous groomer in Rancho Cucamonga who insisted that MY DOGS WERE THE CUSTOMERS, not me. That was her explanation for how she was going to cut our dogs the way she wanted; not what we requested. She told me I could take them to Petco if I was unhappy. Finally I found Rub-a-Dub Doggie Scrub, a full service groomer. This group of ladies is the most cheerful, competent group of groomers I've ever met; the shop is spotless, including the restroom! The prices are competitive or cheaper than similar shops and one of my dogs cost less than I was quoted. The place is air-conditioned, cheerful, and an all around good experience for all of the customers: dogs and owners! They also have a mobile grooming service and stay open later than posted closing time if necessary to accomodate their customers. Ten on scale of 0-10! read more

We moved from the state of Washington a year ago and when I first moved to Rancho Cucamonga I didn't know where to get my shit-zu/poodle mix dog groomed. I get really nervous sending him to groomer because he experiences things that don't happen at home and I don't have control over how he is treated. He had a terrible experience when I first got him and I will always be cautious. I wanted to find a place that would also get him done in a timely manor. I don't like him sitting in a kennel all afternoon. All this to say, that the staff and Rub-A-Dub Doggie Scrub always get Cooper done in a timely manor, treat him kindly and do a great job with his cuts. I feel comfortable dropping him off and don't feel anxious about how he is treated. The facility is clean and decorated cute. I have Been a customer of Rub A Dub for almost 6 months now... I am pleased with the love and attention they give Hermie... When he walks in hes the star of the shop!! This is the one of the only dog grooming shop you can walk in to and that smells good and is very clean Purple as can be and very doggie friendly!! My groomer has Been Lori.. Lori has groommed Hermie since 2008 has done an awsome job! Not a single complaint and I am not going anywhere!!! She and all the girls are nice, sweet, friendly, honest and up front!! With past experience at other groomers in the area this by far meets and exceeds all my expectations! The best groomers hands down! The girls are experienced and the nicest people you will ever come across. My pets are well taken care of and you can tell they take pride in their work. Highly recommend. I have read some of the other reviews ( negative ) and think maybe the owners were not communicating enough or waited to long to bring their pets in. I have been guilty of that myself . The hair gets matted and out of control and one can only do so much at a time. I would rather have the girls do the best they can slowly rather than do something drastic that might have an aesthetic I am not pleased with. read more

I was also recently a client at fancy feet pet salon, were lori was a great friend as well as a great groomer!!! when i found out that she had left that facility i was so upset, another groomer at fancy feet had groomed my dog, i was not pleased with the service nor the way my dog had been groomed! i was so happy when a friend had informed me where lori had moved! she is an amazing groomer and i will not take my dog anywere else! my dog loves rub a dub and i will keep refering!! thanks to everyone at rub a dub expecially my favorite groomer lori!!! read more

This is the best dog groomer I have been to in five years--and I have a Shih Tzu, so we have tried a lot of them! My little guy has a standing appointment for a bath every Saturday morning, and he LOVES to go there! All the girls are great with him, and take special care to alert me of his allergies or other problems they suspect might need additional attention. I LOVE this place so much! We take our huskies and our pug here for grooming and for occasional doggy day care. We used to go to another location down the street that said our dogs were trouble makers, but once we started coming to Rub-A-Dub, they've always had the sweetest things to say about our dogs. Not happy was forced to try this place and I was not pleased. They gave me my dog late and waited 30 min because he was not dry. The owner was nice though and there was a groomer by the name of Lorrie that was trying to give me vet tips which she is a groomer and not a vet tech. Took my Yorkshire Terrier here for the first time a couple weeks ago. I just hope and pray they are always this perfect. I love the cut!!! My baby looks fantastic! No cuts and scrape at all!
