Jalepeno bagel

Bagel shop located in downtown Seattle. You order at the counter and take your food to go or sit inside. Seating is very minimal. I had the jalepeno bagel. They loaded it up with cream cheese. It was good but I could not finish it.

Chocolate cherry bagel & goat cheese

This is a quick spot with decent bagel across from the spheres. Didn't have to wait too long. The bagel was decent, wish the chocolate and cherry came through a little more. The goat cheese cream cheese was amazing but probably better on a more savory bagel. Can be a lot as the only topping with no compliments as a sandwich. I wish the spread was on both sides to be able to eat open face but it was served on one side more as a sandwich. Pretty good spot overall.

Can't complain about Rubinstein bagels! Everything bagel extra toasty! Goat cheese is a must!

Avocado Toast on a Salted Rosemary Bagel

Located inside a residential building and across from the Spheres, it's a nice place to grab a quick bite to eat with reasonable prices. They have plenty of bagel options to choose from and the service was friendly, quick, and easy. I ordered their Avocado Toast and it was delicious. I asked them to choose the bagel for me and he chose the Salted Rosemary bagel. Honestly, it is not a bagel I would have chosen. But in this case, it worked with the other ingredients. The Rosemary just added another layer to the other flavors. The sandwich had fresh flavors with the pickled onions, crisp radishes, and green onions. I would definitely stop by again if I was in the area.

Everything bagel with scallion cream cheese -- added cucumber, red onion, and tomato.

Ordered the everything bagel with scallion cream cheese! It was really good and the additional veggies toppings I added were delicious. I personally like my bagels a little warmer and extra toasted but it was served cold. There bagels weren't my absolute favorite bc they were missing the toasty crackly feel but they were still yummy! The service was friendly and quick. The interior is inside a residential and shared restaurant space -- there's plenty pf seating and a fire place to get cozy by!

I love a good bagel place and it's especially hard for me to find one outside of New York / Long Island. (It's OK... call me a bagel snob.). My hotel staff member told me to try Rubensteins which was a short walk so my wife and I had to give it a try! They had an extensive choice of bagel and spreads. I decided to get the sea salt bagel for myself and my wife did the everything. They bagels smelled great and while I don't normally have my toasted, the team member suggested I did. So... I had a toasted sea-salt bagel with salmon cream cheese. My wife had butter on an everything. We waited for a few mintues at their very nice seating area! It's clean, bright, and comfortable. They called our name and we picked up our breakfast. Not a New York bagel but tasty with a nice spread of topping. A good cup of coffee rounded it out and we enjoyed. If I ever wind up back in Seattle would certainly come back here. KUDOs to the team at Rubinstein Bagels - South Lake Union.

I stopped by Rubinstein's since I was in the area, needed food, and they seemed to have some interesting flavors of bagels and schmear. I ordered a rosemary bagel with truffle schmear. They warned me as I placed the order that they charge an automatic 18% gratuity (and they had signs too) which...is fine but that's not "gratuity" anymore? Just increase the price? But regardless, I paid close to $6 for my single bagel with schmear and stood by to wait. It probably took around 10 min for them to get my bagel out, which is longer than I expected. I took a seat in their very comfortable and cozy eating space. And the bagel was good! The schmear was very very truffle flavored, which was exactly what I wanted. And the scent of rosemary was really strong, and the rosemary and salt flavor of the bagel were great, though there were pockets of a ton of salt just to beware. Overall a solid bagel, probably as good as I've found West of the Mississippi, but definitely a steep price for it!

Everything bagel with salmon

I love a good bagel place so when I was that rubensteins was just near the Amazon office I had to give it a try! I decided to get a bagel for a friend and myself. They bagels smelled great and the line gave me hope! The spreads and topping options were also great but sadly the bagel it self was so TOUGH. I had bite of bagel right away and it already felt like I was chewing quite a while. The bagel I took to my friend was eaten a bit later and felt completely hard. I hope this won't be my experience next time I'm around! Maybe New York bagels are supposed to be tough? Definitely not what I was hoping for :(

I really enjoyed Rubinstein's. Every time I visit a new city I get a bagel and Rubenstein's is on of the only ones I could find with vegan schmear. They were incredibly generous with the serving and online ordering/pickup was easy.

The bagels here aren't my favorite in the city, but they are great. I wish this place wasn't just in a building lobby, but it's fine to drop by and get a quick breakfast and coffee. The bacon egg and cheese bagel doesn't need to be as greasy as it is, but damn it's good. I'll be back here many times, I'm sure.

I've been noticing how I've been trying more bagels recently in this city and this one is just another in the collection I've been making. The bagel I got was great especially with the jalapeño cheddar bagel, just adds that extra flavor I was looking for, but I was great need of a sauce/schmear of any kind of thing to help the bread not be as dry but ketchup did help. The space inside is beautiful with a nice fireplace and seating that allows laptop work of all kinds. The people behind the counter were nice, nothing too crazy there, but I always appreciate the kindness. Would I come again? If I'm in the area and remember the name then yes.

I've had my eyes on the Fast Eddie ever since I heard about this place because it was one of the most recommended sandwiches. The ambiance was alright. Pretty dark imo but maybe because it was just after Christmas and they had their holiday decor up. Also the bar area was closed. I was a bit confused on where to order until I realized there were kiosks by the front counter. It would've been nice if one of the workers actually had said something to me. Anyway, onto the food. I got the Fast Eddie with fries and it was alright. The meat was bit dry. Yes there was the au jus to dip in and it helped quite a bit, but all the flavors just didn't mesh. It was basically an ordinary french dip. The fries were okay, but the jalapeno aioli was great! That made everything better, but not enough to save the sandwich. Not sure if I would come back, but I would definitely try a different sandwich. One that caters more to my taste buds

Located in the Seattle Center Armory, along with many other food vendors, Big Mike's Sandwich Company is serving up huge cheesesteaks, chopped cheese, and other East Coast-style subs. For $25, I picked up the cheesesteak and fries combo. Not a terrible price for the portion. Waited about 10-15 minutes for the sandwich to come out. You order on a tablet here, and then they call your name. It's a small storefront, so you really have to stay nearby to hear your name being called in the large space that is the Armory. Not much interaction with staff. Plenty of seating throughout the Armory, though shared with other restaurants. The food came out piping hot. Obviously, they cook everything fresh to order because the inside of the fries was like lava. The fries were thick-cut and seasoned to perfection. The sandwich was good. I thought some pieces of the steak were a bit tough, and the roll seemed a bit over-steamed or possibly stale. A good sandwich and decent portion, nonetheless. I'm still going 5 stars here. I think Big Mike's is a great choice if you want a hearty, meat-filled sandwich and you happen to be in the area. However, I think you could be happy with another dining option in the Armory, too. My kids loved the MOD Pizza nearby. While there isn't anything wildly unique going on at Big Mike's, they are still pushing out great sandwiches at reasonable prices with a no-frills ordering process.

We ordered the Meatball Sub and Eggplant Sub with marinara sauce. Both sandwiches were flavorful and satisfying. The meatball sub was hearty and comforting, while the eggplant sub had a rich marinara sauce that worked well with the sandwich. We were especially disappointed that the Cubano was sold out, as it was one of the main reasons we stopped by. The only drawback was the price--at around $20 per sandwich, it felt a bit expensive for what you get, especially considering it was just a 6-inch sub, even though the quality was good. We visited during a FIFA World Cup match, so the line was quite long, but it moved steadily and efficiently. No complaints there. The atmosphere is casual and straightforward, with indoor seating only. Its downtown location near the stadiums makes it a convenient spot for a quick meal before or after an event. Overall, a good sandwich shop with quality food, though the pricing keeps it from being a must-visit. I'd still come back to finally try that Cubano.

Bonus: this spot is kosher! Potato Latkes (5/5): These latkes are thick boys and fried up so they're piping hot when they hit the table. Because of their size, you really get the contrast of the hard crunch on the outside with super fluffy potato inside. So good we immediately turned around and ordered more. Chocolate Babka (2/5): This was truly the only miss I've had here. Unfortunately, the babka just really dries out after it's been sliced, which is a shame because it's just gorgeous with generous swirls of chocolate inside. Reuben (5/5): I really thought their pastrami couldn't be beat, but the brisket is dare I say better? Just as tender and feels a bit less fatty, so it's a little more crushable. Tip: go for the seeded rye over the marbled rye; something about the marbled rye just falls apart a bit more with the juices of the meat, though it's still delicious! Black & White Cookies (4/5): I expected this to be cloyingly sweet, but this was actually scrumptious with some fresh lemon flavor in the cookie itself. Absolutely massive as well.

This place doesn't screw around. If you want a great, hearty, flavor-packed sandwich, this is one of the best places to throw your money. But, as others have pointed out, it's no cheap date: expect to pay over $20 for one of those mighty pastrami sandwiches.
