We visited Wild Rye downtown to try their bread and also picked up a croissant while there. It's a pretty nice location with full windows on the exterior of the building, perfect to watch the bakers perform their magic. The order area is pretty tiny, however, with no seating and essentially only a display case and register. It's definitely not a place to hang out at. Takeout only! Montparnasse Almond Croissant ($5.50) - This has a good sweet sugar glaze on top, making the croissant glisten. The outside is baked hard until crisp. The lamination quality seems to be suspect, which allows the creation of two huge air pockets. It could be from steam unevenly rising from the almond frangipane if it was applied while the croissant was still hot. I'm not sure but considering that the croissant is cut in half to apply the filling, it seems like they wait for it too cool down a little first. The fragipane itself is smooth and strongly almond flavored. It's sweet and dense almost to the point of becoming marzipan. (3/5) Stella's Sourdough Rye ($8) - I'm not sure when this boule was baked, perhaps way earlier in the morning? Unfortunately by the time we cut into the bread an hour or two after purchase, the crust had softened in the Seattle winter humidity, rendering it tough and leathery rather than having a crusty crisp. The flavor is interesting, it does have the earthy rye notes, but it isn't super robust, kind of young in taste if that makes sense. Like the starter wasn't set out to ferment long enough to develop all the complex flavors. There's still a distinct tender sour tang from the sourdough starter. The interior is very moist, not dried out at all. (3/5) I found the bread and pastries served at Wild Rye to be just okay. I wonder if it's because they don't have very high traffic, so they let their baked goods sit out for too long. As it stands, it's not a bakery I'd go out of the way to visit again.

Got delivery via DoorDash and was really impressed with the size/value, freshness, and overall quality! The Italian focaccia was so big that I could barely handle half of it (my bf gladly accepted the other half). Loved the mozzarella and salami they use! The cinnamon roll was also huge and had a lovely orange essence to it. The ham and Swiss croissant made for a great lunch with just a dab of Dijon mustard added. The pasta salad was delightfully al denté, had a nice brininess from the olives, and was the perfect size for an afternoon snack. I also tried a lavender latte - could not find any info on their website about which coffee roaster they assume (I assume it's local?), but it was really good. Prices are incredibly reasonable for the portion sizes and everything was so tasty - will definitely order again!

Delicious pastries! So glad that I stopped here to pick up some goodies while walking by! Items are reasonably priced and very good! Love their cheese, ham croissant sandwich! I also got their cinnamon roll and focaccia bread both were so good! Will definitely be coming back here for more pastries and bread!!

I dropped in here based on the online pictures of their cinnamon roll. It lived up to the hype, even though I ate it the next morning! The croissant-style layered dough was buttery, crisp, and soft all at once. The amount of icing was just right, too. Up there with the best cinnamon rolls I have had.

Went here after a workout class downtown, it's a tiny shop with no seats at all. The service was fine. We ordered a sweet and a savory treat, we asked for them to be heated up and they said they didn't do that here. Both of the pastries were fine, it's what you should expect from a pastry shop literally in the same building as the convention center. Would never go back and wouldn't ever recommend people to come back, if you're in the area and specifically above the convention center and want something quick to go it's fine. Ham and cheese - 4/10 bland but not bad tasting Cinnamon roll - 5/10 pretty big for 5 dollars but not like actually tasty, just bland

I've passed this bakery many times and have been planning to stop by for quite some time. I finally visited on a Thursday close to 1 pm. There were still items on the shelf but the employee informed me that since it was closer to the end of the day, they weren't as stocked as they are at the beginning of the day. I got their plain Parisian croissant. It was absolutely delightful! I will definitely be back here on a weekly basis!

The baguette was ok but went stale quickly and wasn't as soft or fluffy - it seemed less fresh perhaps? Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to try the croissants as they were out. Small space to eat in and the service was fine. Probably wouldn't come back for the baguette though.

The coffee is delicious! I had a cappuccino three days in a row and it was perfect every time. I also had an espresso as a mid day pick up it was so good.m, and I'm not usually a straight espresso drinker. The butter croissants are huge and light as a feather. Flakey and delicious. The staff were incredibly friendly too. Loved everything about the place.

This bakery is housed inside the new convention center but has it's own entrance on Olive! I believe this bakery used to be in a different location nearby. I picked up a little Friday treat for myself (the Italian focaccia) and the staff was so friendly when I was being so indecisive. Can't speak to how busy they get during the day because I was in at 7am but they have some affordable bites considering how huge their baked goods are! The focaccia was very soft and the toppings made it overall great. I've heard great things about their cinnamon roll, so that'll be my next treat.

They served the coffees with a little shortbread cookie, and these little details really elevated the whole experience. Also, the cappuccino was so foamy, and it hit the spot immediately. The breakfast menu was also fantastic. The TPC Breakfast plate included sausage, potatoes, bacon, bread, and some scrambled eggs. There also was an option to add Beecher's cheese on the eggs, and I'd say it was totally worth it. Most importantly, the Dutch baby was as good as they'd advertised. It comes out on a piping hot skillet which kept the dessert warm till the end of the meal. The service was very quick even though they were entirely booked out for the time we were there for. I appreciated the patience from the servers and their helpful directions in picking the menu items. I will warn you that we had to reserve our spot months in advance. This is probably because the restaurant is great but pretty limited in seating space. However, it was definitely worth the wait, so don't be discouraged. I highly recommend trying it out at least once. All in all, highly recommend! Please go try Tilikum Place Cafe!

The arboretum-inspired interior creates a warm, inviting space that's perfect whether you're meeting friends, getting some work done, or simply taking a break from the day. The coffee was excellent, and one of the highlights of my visit was trying their Mocha Flight. It was a fun and creative way to sample several different mocha variations side by side. While I ultimately decided that I'm still a fan of the classic mocha, I'm glad I tried it--it made for a unique coffee experience. Another nice surprise is that Hagen also has a full bar, so it's a great place to return later in the day if you're in the mood for a cocktail instead of coffee. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and happy to answer questions, making the experience even more enjoyable. Between the excellent coffee, creative drink offerings, beautiful interior, and relaxed atmosphere, Hagen Café is a place I'd happily recommend to anyone looking for a unique café experience in Seattle. I'll definitely be back.

I ordered the Pork N' Bitch, which came with biscuits as the base, smothered in sausage gravy and topped with plenty of shredded cheese and bacon bits. The portion was huge and enough to feed two people. I only managed to eat half, and it kept me full for about eight hours. This is definitely a heavy and hearty meal. As for the taste, it was delicious and very savory. The biscuit was soft, and the bacon bits added a nice crispy texture. My only complaint is that I wish there had been more gravy. I also didn't really taste any sausage in the gravy. I was expecting more of a traditional Southern-style sausage gravy, but the flavor was a bit different from what I'm used to. This is more of a take out spot, as there isn't any indoor dining. Fortunately, it's located near the Pike's Marketplace, so I recommend taking your food for a walk toward the waterfront and finding a nice place to enjoy your meal. One funny thing was that I was expecting the person taking my order to greet me with, "Good morning, bitch! What can I get you?" Instead, he called me "sweetheart." LOL. Maybe he could tell I wasn't a local.
