I also paid for two large orders of tortilla chips and received broken fragments and bottom-of-the-bag scraps, unevenly cooked, with pale and burnt pieces mixed together. Photos attached. I never receive chips in this condition at the other Rubio's I visit. This isn't new for this store. I stopped coming a while back after an issue a manager claimed was resolved and clearly wasn't on my next visit. I gave it one more shot and walked away with inedible chips and an order made wrong. The customer service from the woman taking the orders during the day is always nice and pleasant, I've only been here twice.. The value is reasonable here and the amount of food you get for the price is good. The fish in the tacos is also good and freshly made. The one major gripe I have about this place though is their tortillas. It's fine to use commercially made bulk tortillas but they don't bother to warm them up to soften the texture. - it seems like they take em straight out of the bag and put the fillings on top making the whole taco taste less than it could have been. The cashier misunderstood my order of 2 shrimp tacos and brought 2 fish tacos instead. I was starving and couldn't wait for new tacos so I told her I'd just eat the fish tacos. She insisted on making shrimp so I convinced her to just make 1 and that would be great! After 5 minutes or so, the shrimp taco came out and it was also delicious. I love the restaurant's handy app because I can place my order at home and by the time I arrive, it's waiting for me on the takeout shelf. Super easy and fast, every time. Rubio's is a great chain because they actually serve healthy food. The extensive menu has all sorts of tacos, burritos, wraps, and bowls, with tons of customizable choices. You can get vegan food, vegetarian meals, low carb, low fat, steak, chicken, veggie, shrimp, salmon, langostino, corn tortillas, flour tortillas, salads, your main meat fried, grilled, blackened, and more. I love that you can even substitute cauliflower "rice" for regular white or Mexican rice! Like I said, tons of options for customization to suit your dietary needs. They run lunch specials during the week that can save you a few bucks (and often they include a drink), and they have deals on tacos on Taco Tuesday. My go-to meal as of late has been either the rice and chicken bowl or the quesadilla from the kid's section. For under $7, you can get a large quesadilla (with or without chicken), a small side of black beans, a small side of rice, and a small drink. It's a great deal if you don't want a huge meal (their regular sized portions are very large). My other favorite item here is the California Bowl with blackened salmon. It's loaded with grilled veggies, guacamole, citrus rice, black beans, lettuce, and salsa. So good. This location has a really nice outdoor patio with fun bistro lights, which gives it a swanky atmosphere in the evenings. I started eating here a lot during the pandemic because they had an outdoor dining area, and I still like to sit out there from time to time now. Bonus points because the self-serve soda fountain has Coke Zero, and their fresh brewed iced tea is so good (they have regular and mango). I enjoy it and I always opt to visit a Rubio's when I come visit places that have a Rubio's. There are quite a few locations in Las Vegas to choose from. Would have rated this a 5 but..... We paid $30+ for a ride share just to come here and enjoy the same fish tacos we have enjoyed for 20+ years in SanDiego as a walk down memory lane. In the food service industry, they have coined a phrase called "dead plate." Basically, that is food that is either cooked or prepared in such a manner that it is deemed not fit to serve to their clientele. Umm, hello?!? I could be having this conversation with this location every week, but I don't. But, every week, I'm having to pull out a large amounts of the lettuce because it is rotten. This is by far the worst experience I've ever had at a Rubio's. We ordered online because we were in a rush on a road trip thinking it would be faster to do that. Our order came out 10 minutes late and it was incorrect. It took them over 10 minutes to fix it after they became distracted several times. I watched other customers walk in, the door was 3 inches open and she says welcome in, they didn't even hear her. How stupid is this. Girl was not friendly, no Smile, no how are you, just straight faced looked pissed for some reason like I'm bothering her to take an order. The fish taco special was not served with slices of lime. Which ruined it for me, but I don't dare go ask her for anything. Eight people waiting for the bathroom and the one on the right is locked. Why? It pays to be a Rubio's fresh catch member so I highly suggest you sign up via their app. They have lots of free food rewards and birthday incentives throughout the year! I really like this new location and the staff is Super sweet and friendly! We decided on the shrimp nachos, Coastal trio tacos, street tacos and chips and guacamole. The food is fresh and flavorful with a very nice presentation! You can tell they take pride in their service because the plates looked picture perfect. This new location is perfect, it is clean, bright and welcoming for a nice dining experience. We are a VERY happy long time Rubio's customer and will continue to be for many years to come. I love the setup of this location. It is roomy inside and it is roomy outside too for al fresco dining. The left front is the counter to order and pay. (Tip: If you add the free app to your phone, you can earn rewards.) The salsa bar is in the middle. Mmm, salsa! And the far right of the interior is seating. Near the door, there are waiting benches (for to-go orders). I think that this floor plan is the best out of the three locations (Sahara/ Fort Apache and Lake Mead/Tenaya) that we visit. My free taco was expiring so we high-tailed it there this past saturday, which was also Grand Opening weekend. The boy and I get kids meals (I don't usually finish adult size meals, and if I get a burrito, I only eat half of it, so you can understand the logic). Little man doesn't speak much when he is enjoying his meal. And this is one of his favorite meals! He gets a chicken bowl, with two sides: pinto bean dip and rice (he likes to eat that at a later time). I get my chicken bowl with black beans and chips (and we always take our unfinished salsas home too). The kids meals also come with drinks. Hubby always gets a burrito but prefers the steak and chicken over the seafood (something is too heavy with the seafood, so it doesn't agree with his system). He got chicken and it was yummy. Since it was nice outside, we sat outside, as did many other diners. Clean location. This is one of the areas of town that we frequent since having lived in Spring Valley. (Sprouts is kitty corner from here.) Hubby recognized one staff member (we have two locations that we frequent) who was training the new cashier.
